Chapter 4 - frog murder

after rolling to the side for way too long, i finally got enough distance to get up without getting stomped. i lifted my sword infront of me and just thrusted it into the neck using a fuck load of mana to plow a hole through it its flesh. the sword just slid through the fleshy frog meat like air. creating a large hole in its neck. flesh blew out the other site as it died almost instantly

[you have killed x1 giant toad]

i pull the blade out "resistant to physical attacks yeah, but manna, not so much." i turned around to face the other frogs that were trying to stomp on me and do the exact same thing that i did to the last and gave it a nice free hole in it's neck, as thanks for almost killing me. (yippee)

[you have killed x1 giant toad]

"ok, time to find more frogs" i say as i head back to axel. after just 5 minutes of walking i found another one and gave it a stylish hole in its neck. killing it "how'd you like that. heh"

[you have killed x1 giant toad]

[you have gained x1 level]

"huh, that was easy" i opened the stat page to look over what i had gained.

use skill points to upgrade skills but be warned that the higher the skill level the more points it will cost.

if you want to gain new skills then you will have to have at least basic knowledge of said skill to have the option to acquire it.

'yeah, that's basic knowledge. all games have that thing. but the second one would be annoying. is there a library or something in axel? eh, future me problems' i thought to my self as i closed the menu and continued on my way back to axel.

i walked and walked and walked some more, found some more frogs, killed them. walked even more "damn how far did i run" i grumbled out but then, i finally saw the city of axel. but before that was another frog, the 5th frog that i am about to face. i killed it, but after killing the 5th frog I felt sluggish, like i was semi-paralysed.

'oh, shit. right. that make shift mana stab thingy takes way to much mana to use. i am almost out and the level up before didn't reset it to full. well that sucks but not the worst, just a minor inconvenience'

i slowly hauled my slow ass towards and then through the gates, it's great that i was close cause i don't wanna get jumped by a bunch of frogs, like do you know how shitty that would be. how embarrassing, think of it, in the after life you meet a god and they ask "how did you die" "frogs" "frogs?" "yes, frogs" "fucking dumbass" yeah, don't feel like dying today, and definitely not to frogs.

anyway i made my way through the streets trying to find my way to the guild to claim my reward. it was a slow and boring walk since all I could do to entertain my self was my own thoughts and what ever was going on in the streets of axel. . . wait a goddamn minute. i could check my stats. I am so stupid sometimes.

'oh, the thing i was trying to do before, became a skill that i could buy. fuck yeah.' i quickly used the SP points i had to buy the skill and the second i pressed it, i feel quite a bit of pain, think of it like if someone were to just shove knowledge into your brain. yeah, not fun. well at least i now know that my method before kinda worked, but was just in efficient. anyway 'woah, my brains feels shitty. i need a break' i stop walking and lean on the side of a building to take a mental break probably because like i said before, having shit shoved into your brain is not fun.

after taking the short brake i went back to walking. . . and walking . . . and some more 'where the fuck is it, am i lost, shi- oh there it is' i cut my thoughts short as i saw the adventurers guild building as i turned a corner.

i entered the building and went straight to the Luna. who had her head on the desk with an annoyed look but when she saw me she straitened up "oh, that was quick. did you complete the quest?" she ask a bit surprised that i came so quick (around 1 hour) "yes i did, but why were you surprised that i took an hour?" i asked not knowing how long a quest usually takes.

"well, most new adventures who go solo usually either end up dead or take hours and hours to complete a giant frogs quest. it's just surprising since you completed it as fast as some of the experienced adventurer, anyway could i get your card to verify it" she holds her hand out waiting for me to give it to her, i respond by pull the card out my pocket and give it to her.

she looks over it before handing it out to me "ok here" she passes me 7,500 Eris "5,000 Eris for quest completion and 500 for each giant frog killed. is that all for today" i grab the money and my card back and yeeted them into my pocket "nope that's all Luna, thank's for being a nice one" she looked at me confused but before she could ask wtf i meant i left. 'confusing people is fun.'

i jumped onto a bench and laid my head onto the table feeling completely drained, mentally and literally. as one waitress passes by me, i called to her attention while lifting my head up "could i get a cup of water and some bread, thanks" after requesting food i smacked my head back into the table. *bonk*

"ok sir that will be coming out shortly?" she replied as she walked away with a few tray's already in her hand, she kept looking back, kinda concerned on why have i smacked my head on the table but she looks away as she needed to to her job. 'damn, i need sleep' i thought as i closed my eyes wanting a little shut eye before food. because fuck it, a lot happened in the last 4 hours.
