Like a clear fast flowing river, the beads in front of Jeane could now wash her away and even almost drown her sanity.
"Miss?"
His voice was also intoxicating. A hoarse combination spoken in a low tone, sounds soft to the ear, making the heart beat abnormally. It really is the male voice that women dream of to greet the morning in bed.
"Hey, Miss?"
Quickly, Jeane blinked her eyes and stopped the fantasies that were drowning her mind. "Oh?"
"You okay?"
"Yeah."
But even though she had regained consciousness, Jeane was still fascinated by the blue bead in front of her. She stood at the same time as the man without blinking. The girl didn't realize that there was something strange. Her eyes refused to look away.
"Can you close your eyes? Or just turn around," asked the man.
"Why?" Like a drunk person, Jeane wasn't surprised at all. She looks like someone who is being hypnotized.
"Please, just close your eyes for a moment."
The girl didn't want to waste a single second looking away from the man's eyes. Incidentally, she likes the color blue and the blue in front of her really catches her eye.
"Why should I close my eyes?"
The man took a small breath. Giving this girl a moment's pause to feel satisfied looking at him. Without realizing it, he was also fascinated by Jeane's violet beads so that the two people stared at each other.
"I like the color of your eyes, sir," said Jeane spontaneously.
This made the man blink his eyes to regain consciousness from Jeane's violet eyes. Without admitting it, he actually liked the color too.
"Are you satisfied enough to look into my eyes?"
"Hm." Jeane smiled still like a drunk person.
The man suddenly let out a tired breath and chuckled. "Miss, please. I have to get dressed first."
Wait, what? Getting dressed? As if she had been slapped by consciousness, Jeane's smile suddenly disappeared. The gazes were still connected, but this time the eyelids suddenly widened and the wrinkles on the forehead showed new surprise.
"What?"
"You don't want to see my naked body, do you?" Without any hesitation or embarrassment, the man even crossed his arms in front of his chest.
In that instant, Jeane became fully conscious. With stupid reflexes, she lowered the bead down instead of closing her eyes. For just a few short seconds, she saw the exposed body and suddenly made her scream while closing her eyes tightly.
"What are you doing? How dare you not dress at all in front of a girl!"
Jeane covered her face with both hands. The heat spread to the earlobe because she was so embarrassed.
"I told you to close your eyes earlier, but you seem hypnotized," said the man, sounding very light.
"Quickly cover your body! Or I'll scream for the wolves again to come eat you!"
What other crazy person would be naked and roaming around in a dark forest besides this man? Jeane had never met, even in America crazy people still wear cool clothes.
After shouting out ridiculous threats, the atmosphere suddenly became silent. There was no reply from the man. Then Jeane dared to open her eyes and suddenly the person had disappeared.
"Crazy man," she grumbled.
Jeane tried to walk away from that place before she became even more nauseous at the disgusting sight in front of her. It was quite difficult to walk after being dragged into the forest. It seems that her foot was sprained, so her steps were stumbling.
"I didn't tell you to go," said the voice again.
Immediately Jeane turned around again and found the man had come again with an appearance that was more presentable but not completely hidden. An unbuttoned black shirt and matching trousers. It was actually cool, but she still felt embarrassed looking at it.
But wait, where did this guy get clothes in a forest like this? There's no way he's camping, right? His life is very useless. After all, no camper dresses like a CEO. Could he be a bastard who raped someone? He was naked earlier, right? Jeane narrowed her eyes suspiciously.
"You're questioning my clothes?" said the man as he stepped closer to Jeane.
Strange man. His face was flat as a board, but had a sharp gaze. Jeane couldn't lie that the man was very handsome with his eyes. The color is brighter and not like the blue color in people's beads in general. Jeane... like it.
"Who are you?" Eventually Jeane questioned the man's identity which she should have done from the start.
Not yet answering, the man continued to walk to close the distance until he was very close. When they were close to each other, the man lowered his head slightly to be able to look very closely at Jeane's face, more precisely at the violet.
"What's your name?"
Handsome in both voice and face but seems very annoying. "Mr. Handsome, I asked you a question and need an answer, not more questions."
"Answer my question first."
Jeane wanted to regret her admiration, but unfortunately it was difficult because this man's aura was so perfect. It sounds hypocritical, but that's how it is now. If she could, she would definitely prefer to run away.
"Jeane. Jeane Nuella."
Silence again. The man's face showed no response. Stay flat with eyes that seem to be locking Jeane's attention.
"Now I ask, who are you? And why did you suddenly appear in front of me without clothes? Where was the silver wolf earlier? Did you kill it?"
Jeane wasted several seconds waiting for an answer from the man who for some reason remained silent while staring intently at her eyes.
"Hello? Can you hear me?" Jeane waved her hand in front of the man's face.
"Damian. My name is Damian Redix. I forgot."
"What do you mean?" Jeane frowned.
"I killed several wild wolves not far from this place. Suddenly I heard you asking for help, so I rushed over here. It turns out there were two more who wanted to hurt you," explained Damian.
"Not just two, but three. Two black and one white," Jeane corrected as she held up the three in front of Damian's eyes.
"No. Only two wanted to eat you, as for the white wolf earlier... that was me."
Jeanne was silent. Her face changed in shock as her hands slowly lowered. Her brain was now trying hard to digest the words that came out of Damian's mouth. Suddenly a question arose, but her logic was eager to dismiss the question.
"Huh?"
"I shouldn't have changed shifts in front of you. Sorry," continued Damian without responding to Jeane's confused change in expression.
"Wait...." But somehow Jeane had to question this. Really, today a lot of strange things happened to her. In fact, she still hopes that today she dreams. "You mean, you were the incarnation of the silver wolf earlier?"
"Yes."
Suddenly her eyes widened. "You're... a werewolf?!"
"Hm." Damian was starting to get fed up with the girl's excessive expressions.
A Jeane Nuella who always thinks based on logic and facts, never once reading myths, let alone believing in superstitions. Now, she opened her mouth slightly because she was very surprised by what she had just heard. More like it's too hard to believe.
Meanwhile, Damian with a straight and innocent face then said, "Stop it. Your face is getting annoying now."
It seemed Damian lacked self-awareness. His attitude is too blunt, a bit annoying and doesn't seem to care about the other person's response when they find out who he is. It's natural that Jeane was shocked. The girl was an ordinary person who had absolutely no extravagant fantasies about the underworld.
"So you really exist?! You're not some crazy person who escaped from a mental hospital, right?"
Damian chuckled lazily as he rolled his eyes. He then put his hands on his hips. "You're the crazy one! Why would a girl wander around the forest like this? It's so troublesome. Don't you love your life?"
Surprise turned to anger. Damian's rising tone made Jeane give the man an annoyed look.
"I was kidnapped! Didn't you see that someone was dead because your friend ate him? He was the one who dragged me here! That bastard..." Jeane pointed at the man's disembodied corpse, stared at it for a few seconds then looked back at Damian. "That man almost raped me!"
Not concerned, Damian instead raised an eyebrow. He looked down at the mangled body then turned back to Jeane. "Oh yeah? That person is so stupid. I saw that there are several big hotels standing in this city. That place is much more pleasant to satisfy desires than in the forest. You should be able to lure him there. It's better to enjoy it in a closed room, right? You won't be cold when all your clothes are off."
Isn't that a very annoying reaction? It felt like Jeane wanted to throw a slap at Damian's face and plug his mouth with her fist. The shock was still not completely over, but was instead added to by annoyance because of the chief's annoying attitude. But unfortunately, Damian was too handsome to slap.
Huh, you weakling, Jeane.
"You seem very experienced in going to places like that, huh, Mr. Redix," Jeane held back annoyance.
"Of course. There are many aggressive women there who are always willing to serve me every night." Damian said it very proudly as if he was the perfect man.
This man's answer really made Jeane shake her head slowly while changing her gaze to one of disbelief. It's really surprising that Damian is so relaxed about exposing depraved things. Maybe that's the true nature of wolves.
"You damn dog."
Hearing that, Damian brought his face closer to Jeane. "Don't call me a dog. That's too cute. I'm a wolf."
Jeane took a deep breath, trying to be patient. At least the person in front of her was a handsome man. Although Damian can also be a damn handsome man.
"Never mind, I want to go home. Talking to you makes me even crazier." Jeane decided to turn around and continue walking away from Damian.
The man quickly grabbed her hand. "Don't you want to come over to my place? I'll treat the wound on your leg."
"No, thank you. My house is almost close, no need to bother."
Jeane tried to ward off Damian's grip, but the man's grip only got stronger. "Let go! You're hurting my hand."
"Don't go alone. It's dangerous." Damian's voice suddenly softened like at the beginning.
The atmosphere was suddenly different. Jeane didn't know what happened, but she was drowned again by Damian's blue eyes. The sensation she was getting right now was so calm and comfortable, that she forgot that a few minutes ago she had called Damian annoying and a bastard dog.
"Your leg is injured, let me take you home."
Her lips pressed together, Jeane didn't know what sentence to answer until Damian let go of her grip and squatted down with his back to her.
"Climb on my back."
Hm, a caring man but to be honest there is a worrying side. Damian is a good guy, right? Ah, Jeane meant... good creatures, right? The girl almost forgot that this person was not a real person.
"You don't need to think about anything. I just want to help. I won't eat you either," said the man as if responding to Jeane's thoughts.
"I was afraid you were a fraud."
"I'm not a fraud. If you don't believe me, I'll turn back into a wolf."
"Don't be crazy!"
"Then come on. If you still want to be alone, I can't guarantee that up ahead you will always be safe from hungry wild wolves."
That is true. Jeane had no other choice because her leg was sprained and it really bothered her when she was walking. Like it or not, she climbed on Damian's back.
"You won't take me away and make me your partner, right?" Actually, that's not the only worry. But she was also still afraid that Damian couldn't be trusted and would instead make her a meal.
Damian stood up and started walking before answering, "Why would I do that to you? I'm destined to be with someone."
"Then where is she? Why not look for you?" Curiosity arose. Jeane also had the opportunity to distract herself from her fear.
Actually Damian didn't want to talk about that. However, because this girl asked, he wanted to answer even if briefly.
"No."
"Why? Doesn't she love you? Then don't you want to look for her too? Is she a fierce wolf or some kind of wild wolf like before? She's not pretty? Or are you the one who's not her taste? You said you often play with bitches, isn't she jealous? And wouldn't she be angry if she saw you carrying me like this? I'm afraid she'll eat me," said the girl. Very curious.
Too noisy, too many questions. Damian took a deep breath as he continued to watch his steps through the forest to return to the asphalt road.
"No one will eat you and stop asking! Your questions really bother my ears."
"How could I not ask? I should never have met a creature like you! You know? This morning my brother talked about your people to the point where he looked like crazy people in my eyes. Then now I met you in person and made me even crazier than him!"
Jeane often admits that she is introverted and quiet, but she doesn't really think that she is actually very talkative. Once she speaks, even commas can be forgotten, especially when she is emotional.
"Okay, okay. Now shut up or I'll turn around and take you to my place, then I'll force you to serve me."
"Tch, damn dog!"
"Your face is beautiful, it's not good to say dirty words. It will look disgusting." Damian's tone sounded calm, but his words still seemed to provoke emotion.
"You are the dirtiest and most disgusting one!" Jeane didn't accept it, even though she was actually lying.
There are no dirty or disgusting words that want to be said, quite the opposite. Jeane just didn't want to give in to arguing.
In the next second, the two people fell silent. Damian seemed tired of responding and let the silence fall. But for Jeane, somehow silence made her feel awkward. She realized that now she was very close to this perfect man.
Her eyes glanced for a moment, where she could see the curve of Damian's face from the side. So close and it made her heart beat even faster. Her heart still couldn't stop being amazed by Damian's handsomeness. Maybe it's an exaggeration, but really... Damian is really handsome.
"Is there something wrong with my face?" The man turned his head and met his eyes with the violet for a few seconds.
Quickly, Jeane shifted her attention to the front. "No."
"You like me?" Damian also turned his attention in the same direction as Jeane, looking at the road and the increasingly dark atmosphere.
Jeane turned back to Damian and gave him a sharp look.
"You're secretly looking at me. Do you like me, Miss Jeane Nuella?" Damian continued.
In her heart she groaned. Jeane was still very surprised why someone as handsome as this could be so annoying to her. Much better is Dave who looks fun and full of smiles. Damian said with a flat, innocent expression, even very confident.
"I will not like creatures like you, even if men in this world become extinct."
Damian couldn't possibly be fooled by the words of a prestigious girl. "Liar. You think I don't know what's on your mind?"
"Huh?"
Not responding, Damian closed his mouth again, making the girl even more annoyed.
After that, the atmosphere was silent until the journey ended in front of Jeane's house. Damian continued to walk up to the terrace of the house then put Jeane down slowly.
"Thanks."
In front of the house door, the two of them stood facing each other. Damian again created a quiet atmosphere which for some reason was very immersive for Jeane. This man directed his unreadable glare at the violet.
"Can I see your hand?"
"For what?" Again, Jeane's brow furrowed in question.
"Just to make sure there are no other wounds besides the legs."
For Jeane, Damian's treatment was very unreasonable. Why was he so concerned that he wanted to examine Jeane's palm? A bit suspicious.
"Don't pretend to care, bastard. My hands are fine," she said, still opening her palms in front of Damian's face.
"Okay, then come in."
"Thank You."
"Hm."
Jeane went into the house, closed the door and left Damian still standing in front of her. The body feels like it is being crushed. She rushed to the room and lay down.
Meanwhile Damian was still staring at the door which was now closed. Then one corner of his lips lifted slightly, forming a very faint smile.
"I got you, violet."
