Chapter 8 - Chapter 7 : Crystal hearted girl

The next day, Jeane prepared herself to go to college. She walked over to her family who were already at the dining table. Both legs still hurt when used to walk.

"Are you sure you want to go to college with legs like that?" asked her father, Caiden Nuella.

Jeane sat up while hissing slightly in pain. "I'm okay, Dad." Then she grabbed the slice of sandwich in front of her.

"Next time, come home on time, so Lucas doesn't leave you alone. And Lucas, how hard is it to wait for your sister for just a little while?" Caiden said to his two children.

"I thought she was going home with Dave, so I went home first," Lucas reasoned

Jeane was still silent as she continued to chew her sandwich. With her mind replaying the memory of yesterday's events, her gaze stared blankly ahead. Still remembering the handsome werewolf who saved her. Really, she wanted to stop thinking about it. But Damian's annoying face didn't seem to want to leave her head.

Ah, why is a handsome man like Damian not human? And why is he also so annoying? Jeane said to herself while chewing food.

"Jeane?"

Too lost in her daydream about Damian's face, Jeane didn't realize that her father, grandmother and brother were watching her. The three people were surprised by the girl's expression, which looked listless.

"Jeane, are you okay?"

"Uh, yeah?" The owner of the name was shocked.

"What were you thinking about that made you daydream?" Caiden asked, worried.

Actually, Jeane wanted to discuss this with them, but was hesitant because what she experienced was beyond reason. Werewolves? That's just a myth. Surely none of her family believed it, except Lucas. But still, in order to avoid ridicule, she had better keep quiet.

"Nothing."

"What happened to you yesterday?" Caiden asked again.

"Actually, yesterday I was almost kidnapped by someone I didn't know. He dragged me into the dense forest there. I almost got raped," explained Jeane.

Caiden and the grandmother looked shocked. "So? What have you done?"

"I'm fine. Coincidentally, someone saved me." Jeane answered doubtfully.

"Who?" While chewing his food, Caiden looked serious about hearing his daughter's answer.

Jeane paused for a moment to answer her father's question. Okay, she was really doubtful and didn't want to be called crazy because she met a werewolf. So it's better not to have to.

"Jeane?"

"There was a good person who happened to be in the forest, he heard my screams and helped me," she explained. Not really lying, this time let's just assume that Damian is a good person.

"Good person? Are you serious?"

"Yes."

"Are you sure?" Caiden looked disbelieving.

Jeane suddenly frowned. "Why?"

"No. It's just that I was wondering why there was someone wandering around in that very dangerous forest."

Honestly, at first Jeane was confused too. However, because it was Damian who helped her, she wasn't surprised. The forest is scary because it is a den of imitation wolves. It's natural that many people are afraid to go through it. If there was an alternative route, she would definitely not have taken that route to go to college.

The girl watched her father suddenly become silent, looking worried. Why? What is Caiden thinking?

"Dad, what's wrong?" Jeane asked, suddenly making Caiden come back to his senses.

"Ah, no, forget it. The important thing is that you're okay. Now finish your food."

The food for breakfast was all served on the long dining table. Now there are several people sitting in their respective chairs. They are Daniel and his mate named Caterine and of course Damian. While Daniel was busy talking to his mate, Damian was just silent, staring at the plate in front of him which was served with a piece of grilled meat without any intention of eating it.

The flat expression will not change on the face, making him difficult to guess what one is thinking. Daniel took a deep breath seeing his older brother who always looked like he was depressed. How come? Damian never joined in small talk and was always busy with his own, very noisy thoughts.

"That flesh will not turn into a beautiful woman, Mr. Damian. Eat or you'll become a skinny wolf," quipped Daniel.

Still not opening his mouth, Damian leaned his back against the back of the chair while sipping his drink of water. All of his family knew very well what was making Damian sad. Since the age of 18, he has been destined to have a mate by the Goddess. However, it has been 13 years since he could find the woman.

"You really haven't found her yet, Damian?" said Caterine.

"Not yet."

"Aren't you trying to find out about the girl with the crystal heart? You can find out in the library. There are lots of ancient books there. Who knows, maybe you might find a clue." The woman gave quite good advice.

"Later."

Damian's indifferent answer actually made Daniel feel angry. Always looks like he's struggling but never tries more. Just annoying.

"You don't seem to care at all, Damian. Do you really want to be a lone wolf forever?"

Damian put his glass down so hard it made a startling sound, then his blue eyes glared at Daniel accompanied by a soft gasp. Without a word, the man stood up and walked away from the dining room.

Annoying, right? Damian was indeed very difficult to advise.

"He's too frustrated, you shouldn't corner him," Caterine scolded.

"For 13 years he just waited and looked for places of entertainment. I mean the world is wide, he never tries to look for clues elsewhere."

"It's possible that Damian is having difficulties and doesn't know where to look for his partner. It's better to just leave him alone. I'm sure the moon goddess will definitely help," said Caterine as she cut the roast meat on her plate.

Meanwhile Damian stepped through the long corridor in the castle, about to go to a room. Along the corridor, he passed omegas who were busy with their activities. They stopped their activities when Damian passed by and bowed slightly in respect.

The man was like a king or prince. Of course, because Damian and the Redix family are the ones who occupy the highest and strongest position in the pack. He is Damian Redix, a quiet Alpha who is actually very strong when dealing with enemies, very strict in protecting his colony and also affectionate even though he sells hard when it comes to smiles.

His footsteps led him into a large room where there were lots of shelves lined up. Each shelf is arranged with various kinds of books with different colored covers. Exactly, Damian listened to Caterine's words to go to the library.

He's like someone who doesn't care. But you know, that's just the look on his face. All his five senses still work very well to be sensitive to the situation.

Damian stepped towards one of the shelves, looking for a book that seemed to provide a small clue to finding his mate. Then he found a book about astrology and also the meaning of birth.

His eyes moved to read the book page by page, but to no avail. He went back to looking for another book, read it and so on. Until he finished several books that gave no instructions at all and ended up frustrated at the reading table. He gently ruffled his black mane then remained silent for a few moments, creating silence.

The atmosphere was so quiet in the room, it made him remember something. The image of the face of the beautiful girl he met yesterday suddenly flashed. The appearance of the violet bead he was looking for and also the symbol on the palm of his hand. Yes, that girl is the second key and he just needs to look for the third key, which is someone who has emerald eyes.

"Jeane Nuella," he muttered absently. There was a strange feeling that spread when I remembered that name and face. He felt something unusual.

Of course Damian was happy when he found a key. That means he can complete the tasks given by the moon goddess quickly. However, there was another pleasure when yesterday he looked directly at the violet. Who knows.

"Unique girl," he said. Now, at least he forgot a little about his frustration thanks to Jeane.

Then he returned again to the bookshelf. This time it was on a different shelf to the previous one and suddenly found a strange book that aroused curiosity. One of the books that is different from the others.

A book bound in animal skin with a distinctive carving on the front. Damian then opened it and was immediately presented with a picture of three strange symbols that he certainly recognized.

Three symbols are used as keys to protect the moon goddess' petrablu and one of them is the symbol on the palm of her hand. Intending to look for clues to find out Luna's whereabouts, Damian instead got this book which was of course also very useful. It's okay, the duty of the goddess is also very important.

His attention moved to read a series of ancient writings that explained the meaning of the three. The first symbol possessed by a blue-eyed person with mixed blood between a human and an immortal creature whose birth coincided with a solar eclipse. It was himself.

"So I'm special, right?" his monologue.

Next to the second symbol, owned by someone who has the blood of two different immortal creatures. Sounds strange and seems difficult to find. This person has emerald eyes which of course not only one person has, that's the only clue.

Then the last symbol is the most special of the two previous symbols. Namely owned by a beautiful violet-eyed girl named Jeane Nuella. He had found her, albeit through quite an embarrassing encounter.

For some reason, every time he remembered the girl's face, the corners of Damian's lips always rose. According to him, the girl was really silly and... adorable. He continued reading the rest of the last sentence of the explanation of the violet symbol.

Violet, is very special because in her body flows the blood of a goddess. Through a magic crystal implanted in his heart called theakori, this person has the unique potential to awaken the power of the night. Damian nodded. So Jeane is a descendant of the goddess.

"It seems like that girl doesn't realize how special she is," he muttered once again and was about to turn the paper to the next page.

However, his movements suddenly stopped when his mind remembered something. Maybe because he was too engrossed in this book and Jeane's imagination, Damian forgot his original intention of entering this room.

"Wait a minute."

His eyelids widened slightly and he returned to reading the previous article with full attention. A few moments passed in silence before he finally closed the book loudly then stood up and left the library carrying the book.

"Daniel..." He then sent a mindlink to Daniel.

"Why?"

"I go. I'll just leave the pack to you for a moment."

"Where are you going?"

He continued walking along the corridor past the people who were saluting him towards the exit of the castle while continuing to mindlink his younger brother.

"I've found my Luna."

Jeane Nuella. The girl has violet eyes, has a symbol on her palm and most importantly has a crystal heart. No more mistake. It turns out this is the meaning of the moon goddess. His destiny is too special and difficult to find, so Damian must be given this mission to meet Luna. The moon goddess is very kind.

"You're mine... Jeane Nuella."
