Behind the door stood part of the giant tree, it had a long branch standing a top an altar, the altar was cable, inside a liquid golden resin flowed, some little drops still hanging from the branch.
A female elder took Saor towards the altar making him kneel before it, after that she started speaking with a religious voice " oh great mother, please accept this new servant under your benevolent shadow and make him one of your loyal protector, forever and after" once she ended her talk another elder appeared with a wooden bowl in hand, he then filled it with the resin.
As he ended two of the remaining elder opened Saor's mouth forcefully, the one with the bowl walked towards Saor menacingly, he shoved the resin in Saor's mouth obligation him to swallow.
The female elder then said "You now are a faithful servant of out lord, Flora, be happy because now your life can be fulfilling, now go to one of the wooden huts that are in the est area of the village, they are empty, tomorrow present yourself to the morning prayer, obey the word of Flora and everything will be fine" a big smile lied on her face.
Saor walked outside of the temple really perplexed all that secrecy only for him to drink some resin? When he came out he couldn't find Alex anywhere, something must have happened to him, puzzled on the ritual Saor decided that the only thing that remained to do was to sleep in his new home.
The house was pretty small, but it was still better than nothing, finally he had a bed only for himself.
But the night that seemed so beautiful became soon hell, his stomach was burning, he felt something change inside of him, his senses became better, his sensations stronger and a strange connection with nature appeared.
The next day he finded himself changed he felt the entire world in a more lucid way, even if that was good and all, there was something that made him quite preoccupied, he felt a seed, or a sort of inside his heart, he didn't knew why but it gave him only bad premonitions.
He soon arrived to the morning prayer all the village was there, excluding Alex, some of the villager still launched him some curios glances.
After finishing the long and boring ceremony an elder came towards him, he said "Saor, now you are part of our village, do what you want, but don't forget our work here, PROTECT THE FOREST AT ALL COST, if everything is set, then see you at the afternoon ceremony".
As Saor confused tried to go away another person came to him, she was Evy, the first thing she asked was "Saor, you're the last person that saw my family, have you seen him ?, please help me he disappeared".
Saor then decided to tell her about everything that happened in the council and what the elders did to him, the more he continued with his story the worse Evy's expression became.
Once he ended talking Evy interrupted him before he could speak further,taking his hand she drove him away from the village, near the end of the forest, she then proceeded to tell him the real story behind their village.
"At the start we were a belligerent clan, we fought amoung ourselves, we hunted and we were predators, at those times we were free to do whatever we desired, that is until she appeared, Flora or hoe the elders call her the Great Divine, people from our Clan with more powerful abilities began appearing, those that had a communion with her were more powerful, but in exchange they became her slaves, whoever was enough disobedient to not listen to her died, from his heart a giant tree bloomed, those elders guiding these Guardians obliged the rest of us to go under the Communion, whether we wanted or not.
"At the end we all had to obey Flora, even my father the once glorious commander of our Clan, your were our only hope, but now, listen to me all that is left for you to do is to obey and be grateful to be alive" at the end her face had a bitter and sad smile glued on.
Seeing this Saor understood the situation and so with an amused smile he said "You don't need to worry, I've got this".
Before Evy could even question him, Saor tore his heart out of his chest with his hand, the heart was still pumping blood, splashing red everywhere.
