Chapter 59 - The name is Danger and I have come to party (2)

The entity in charge of Moros' body slowly stood up and dusted off the grass that was still stuck on the clothing. After stretching and removing the spear out of the goblin it had just turned into a burned mess, it was ready to move on.

"Let us move on Moros, there are a few family members left that need liberating."

Its head shot backwards staring into the distance towards a certain point, though Moros could not tell what it saw back there.

"The people watching us will surely present you with your task here on Avarosia. Is that not correct, humans?" adding this the entity moved forwards towards the portal where his family members were waiting for him.

"We shall be waiting, do your best with all of my kin…"

With a swift motion he trampled onto the small bug that was peeking out of the grass floor.

In the far distance, a pained scream resounded. Insect guy, real name Clarence, cursed loudly as blood trickled out of the corner of his mouth. He really should have not taken this job after seeing that the insect on his heart did not work.

"They really did get a weirdo as the final sacrifice, huh?" muttered Clarence under his breath. In the next second he already initiated a call towards the man, who paid him too little for this whole spy affair.

"Yo Albert, we got a problem here. The bait knew that we watched him. Talked something about not disappointin' him with his kin and about a task here on Avarosia."

"Interesting," Albert One Stone replied rather casually.

His favourite subject spotting the surveillance put upon him was not outside of his expectations. It would have been disappointing if the guy capable of destroying their entire underground facility did not have at least that degree of awareness.

Though it did irk him a bit as to why he knew of the secret, little baby being raised in their operation here. Only the top brass was aware of their goal, so how had Moros, a random teenager from the Terra family deduced what their project was?

Moros did not seem the type to run his mouth or make uneducated guesses, nor is it likely that anyone had talked to him. Communication had also been cut off to the outside world of Elysium.

Did he arrive at that conclusion simply based on the activities he did as a prisoner and the next task he was given?

He really liked the youth more and more.

Should he regard him as a fool for not running away despite knowing about the project Danger or is he confident enough to face it?

"You have done well Clarence, rest assured. Our little project will soon begin and our goober Goblin, will soon pay him a visit for its final test."

Insect guy gulped, he knew what those words implied…he had to get out of Avarosia as fast as he could. He did not want to be anywhere near this planet when the secret was out.

With a careful voice he asked the final question, before he would take the next teleportation device out from the city?

"SIr, but what if our project were to fail? I do not think the higher-ups would respond too kindly to failure!"

A loud roar of laughter came as a reply from the otherside of the communication device. Albert clearly enjoyed the naivety of his subordinate, this was the best joke he had in a long while.

"Clarence, I like you buddy. Let me share a few work secrets with you, since the project is on and about. Have a guess how many things went into our champion?"

"Uhh, given the rate of catches we had, I would say between 1000 and 2000?"

"10000," the reply came without any feelings attached to it.

"10000, ten thousand are in there in our best one. So, now you should know why I do not think that Moros stands a chance."

"10000…how is that possible, Sir?" Clarence could not believe what he had just heard; there were so many, many, many of them. The number was so big, his head refused to believe it, even though he trusted Albert with his life…that was how ridiculous the figure was.

Albert One Stone's best creation could not be defeated, it was created for the strongest of magicians as a tool too to defeat even those.

Realistically what could a single youth do against it? He would likely put up a good fight and then die in the end still. The champion was, after all, not something that could ever permanently be defeated.

"But if Moros were to survive this and even defeat this creature…then I dare say we have got an even bigger monster at our hands."

The head scientist did not play any losing game. He was not foolish enough to bet his entire fortune on just one card here. Whether the man with a debt won or their champion─there was nothing to lose, but everything to gain.

"So, Clarence, you do not have to worry. Regardless of what is happening between these two monsters, in the end we will win anyhow."

A loud ringing echoed through the empty office space covered in goblin corpses, who had tried to take over his lab…

"Sorry, buddy another call is coming in. Feel free to get out of there, Avarosia will soon get rather rough."

Clarence did not say another word and booked it. As fast as his legs could carry him, he ran to the teleporter that had been set up in advance.

Meanwhile Albert responded to the call he got from another spy he had set up near the big teleportation stages that informed him about suspicious movements.

"Sir, at Checkpoint 3B Dion Terra had been spotted, after further questioning through paid guild personal it could be determined that he was, as we feared, searching for his brother…it is assumed that he has a tracking device on his body."

Albert clicked his tongue in annoyance, Moros' likely death would not be of any problem. But, if Dion were to die in this experiment of theirs, all hell would let loose and heads would roll in this project.

And Albert liked his head attached to his body.

"We tried to stop him using the prepared strategies and excuses as to why travel to Avarosia was not an option. However, this did not discourage the target, it merely delayed his arrival for 10 minutes of time."

The scientist knew that much, if the problem had been solved that easily, he would not have gotten the call in the first place.

"He has already arrived at Avarosia and has been walking straight to the location where the test subject "0DAHe0" is located. Estimated time of arrival is 10 minutes away at his current speed."

On a monitor an overhead perspective of a well-dressed, handsome youth walked over the barren, burned wasteland of the remnants of the Evergreen Forest, looking puzzled at what had become of the planet he had visited often during his early years.

He did not seem to be in much of a hurry, making his way to the brother in casual pace.

One Stone began to think quickly, it was not an option to have the brother of Moros interfere in this matter.

Sadly, he had no ground personnel strong enough to stop Dion Terra.

It did seem like he would need to call in a favour with the goblin chieftain that had borrowed a human from him. Throwing in some useless goblins to entertain the famous son of the Terra family should be a fair trade, no?

The goblin chieftain that was informed in nice words to distract a certain human being from reaching its destination was accepted with a heavy heart. Indeed, the promised human had arrived.

Gogogobo was to die by his hand as per the demand by the Gods. The goblin chieftain walked towards his King and fell to his knees.

"King, I come bearing news. The human spoken about in the decree of the Gods have arrived. You are to give battle and serve him as experience!"

The king sitting atop his makeshift throne surrounded by the sad remains of his tribe that had accompanied him through these bad times looked at him with saddened eyes.

"My subjects, my people. Let this be my last order as the king… do walk through the portal set-up by the Gods and live a life worth living, live a life of peace!"

His body moved upwards and he stood before the crowd of goblins that all bowed before him and cried bitter tears, facing their king for the final time.

"Do not cry my children for my death is merely just another step in the long history of our kind. Do not shed tears for I am a warrior, the king of goblin warriors!"

A cry left its mouth, that shook the ground and their hearts. Their mind captured by his spirit.

"My death opens a door for future generations. So Cheer for me, Remember me, Sing of me. Tell your children my tale when they live that life of peace that we never had."

Drawing his 2 swords from the door, he softly pressed them into his palm and drew blood. The green blood spilled freely onto the ground and the leader of the goblins looked at it in awe.

A deep breath later, the green liquid was painted atop his face drawing an intricate pattern. A circle at the top and a crown around his head.

The drawing shone violently in green hue as the crown was appeared atop his head and the third eye directly below it. Its height grew nearly thrice in size and red hair began to dance in the wind atop its head.

"FOR I AM GOGOGOBO, LAST KING OF AVAROSIA, AND I SHALL LEAD YOU TO THE PROMISED LAND!"

"FOR GLORY!"

"GATHER, ye goblins mixed with human blood, we shall find a death most glorious on the battlefield."

All goblins cheered, as their King prepared to head into the final battle. Followed by the army of 10000 copied goblin hybrids They were ready for war!

Gogogobo only hoped that all the other goblins from Avarosia would arrive and find peace at the portal too…
