Chapter 47 - A normal day in the Evergreen Forest

It was a normal day in the Evergreen Forest. Birds were chirping, the forest was green and the animals residing within lived their days out in harmony.

If one ignored the human running around with a naked woman on his shoulders, it was indeed a most ordinary day in this lovely forest. Of course, the endless horde of goblins chasing after the pair was not a normal event either.

One could certainly see many such unusual events occurring over the past month. Moros, the human, in the picture being responsible or involved in all of them.

Whether he knew what kind of process he set in motion or if he was just born to be a natural troublemaker, his interference had caused a ripple effect which echoed all over the planet of Avarosia.

From the secret dungeon, the painted story on its ceiling, to teaching goblins how to throw a punch, to the facility which haunted and killed goblins everything tied together due a cause Moros had yet to realise.

The consequences played out all over the small world. In the big cities countless green legs could be seen as they made their way towards the north, towards the Evergreen Forest.

They did neither drink, eat or sleep, they simply moved forwards without stopping ever. None of them cared if they were attacked, maimed or killed. Any goblin found simply moved on and on─as if they were in trance.

This detail did not escape the greed of peasants and nobles alike as the wandering monsters were farmed and killed by everyone that came across one of them.

All of them laughed at the foolish creatures, blissfully unaware of the reason behind this act.

The entire world faced a threat not seen prior. The weak were coming together and killing them on their way to their destiny did merely delay the inevitable outcome.

No monster, no human took notice of the strange events unfolding on Avarosia.

The time was ticking down…

However, Moros should meet his "friend" some time later. The conditions for them to meet in their most perfect form was not yet permitted by a certain that, with whom some gods had meddled with.

The play was set, the actors all got their role…only the stage was currently prepared.

Yet, Moros did not know anything about what awaited him, he merely laughed in the face of the horde of goblins that lusted after the woman he carried on his shoulders.

This was the easiest money he had ever made in his life.

Just run around a bit and the smell would lure all of them to follow them to the depths of hell or anywhere he wanted them to be. Then, he just needed to casually jog to the hole following the instructions of the woman he carried.

When these goblins jumped into the net he would get 10 stones and the number with 30 zeroes would shrink accordingly.

"Life was truly easy, huh?"

All he had to do was repeat this a few times and he would amass a fortune in no time.

Moros could not help, but chuckle as he sprinted through the dense landscape of trees, Mandy, Sandy, Candy or whatever her name was clinging to his shoulders as if her life depended on it.

Though he had to give her credit where it was due, she was offering surprisingly detailed directions to find back to the hole and the net.

Keeping her composure despite the endless horde of goblins chasing after them, made her worthy of his respect. Disregarding her decision of trusting his plans, she seemed to be the smart type, someone who knew what she wanted in life.

Moros certainly would have liked to dwell more on the thought, but running away from the goblins and with a naked woman on the shoulder did demand a lot more attention.

As the forest blurred past him, he spent all of his attention on not running head first into a tree or stumbling like an idiot.

To make the money he needed to get to the hole first. In theory that sounded easy.

In theory, Moros should have never been here, in debt, or facing jail time for impersonating a government official amongst other reasons…

Alas, the guy with a debt to shoulder and an unclothed woman on his shoulders was now here and could not complain about the circumstances loud enough.

The goblins were certainly not very interested in his life story as they followed his every move.

"I usually do not do things of such nature," Mandy said bashfully in an attempt to make small talk amidst giving directions.

"Being carried without clothes on to capture some goblins was also not something people do often," Moros thought in his mind, but decided to keep quiet, since she had been very helpful to this point.

Instead, he simply pressed out a slight smile and gave her a small reply in return.

"Yeah, it is also a first for me. I could have never believed to end up doing something so daring."

Which was a total lie, he had done far more daring things over the span of his criminal life. This was just the first time he carried someone atop his shoulders as he did such a thing.

The naked mother was just an exception to the rule.

Despite her attempt at small talk, Moros only had his aim forward, looking back was certainly only an option if one wanted to give the goblins what they so desperately desired.

He simply ran ahead, not thinking much about what was going on or why the woman was trying to converse with him.

His only interest lay in getting his debt paid in time.

He was missing out on so much fun knowledge in school and Malissa was already ready to commit a hate crime on his precious nutsack. Maybe he really should grow out a moustache and live in another country to escape her wrath.

It was a stupid plan, but going back was the far more brain-dead decision to make. As if that devil would believe and listen to his story. This time it had not even been his fault.

He was a victim of the circumstances…at least he was not fully to blame this time around.

Soon he was taken out of the violent fantasies that made him instinctively run faster as the hole appeared in the distance.

With a quickened step, Moros simply ran towards it and jumped over it with a mighty jump. Only too late did he see the small rope that was placed at its edge. Time seemingly stood still as his feet left the ground to soar through the air. Gracefully he fell through the air, like a drunk sailor leaving the whore house in the morning hours.

His landing on the other side of the hole was not exactly very heroic either as he face-planted onto the green grass, eating a lot of dirt in the process.

Mandy, the volunteer, flew a bit further and bounced off the grass too. Directly in front of the one, who had let out the trap.

"There you are, my dearest MILF!!! I have been waiting soo long for you. You really made me work so hard, don't you think it is time to give a little something back?"

Fur as black as the night, a 4 legged beast, eyes as deep and dark as the night itself…its teeth fletched and paws held claws long enough to tear an adult human in two. A deep growl left its throat as it met the gaze of Moros.

Atop the shoulders of this wolf, standing as tall as a small adult, sat a goblin. A mask covering the left half of his face displayed an unhappy expression. A frown, an upside-down smile stood in creepy contrast:

In its right hand, it held a long spear, double its height.

"It is time that the two of us have a chat, young descendant of the Moros family"

"Long has your kin terrorised my people, stealing from us our hard-earned, slave women from other species. Many of our brethren have died for the MILF, so have our Fathers."

The wolf howled, its proud rider pointing its spear at Moros, shrouding it in the embrace of glorious silver.

"I shall proclaim: NO MORE! For my name is Gologobo, the 7th lesser chieftain, soon to be the goblin king."

It spun its spear around, rotating it atop its head.

"Remember this name well; it is the last one you shall ever hear."

With a downwards strike he hit Mandy with the blunt side of his weapons causing her to fall to the floor, unconscious.

"But before that, excuse me for a bit. I have a romantic dinner-for-one planned here with this lovely lady!"

The wolf moved its head down and placed the woman inside its mouth, careful not to damage her tender skin. The goblin paid its utmost attention to his "meal".

He did not care one bit that Moros had stood up, and looked at him as if he was contemplating how to make its death most painful.

No, after the goods had been secured he returned Moros' gaze and blew him a kiss. Before turning around, lifting its hand up high to wave him goodbye.

Tension bubbled over, yet Moros stood still frozen in place. A smile formed on his face…"just how much of his debt could be paid off with this guy…"

At least more than the stupid goblins that still dove into the hole with the net, that much was certain.

With this the goblin rode off into the sunset atop his wolf…a greedy gaze followed him.

A debt needed to be repaid.
