Gologobo stared at Moros with the deepest hatred in its eyes, this human dared to mock it? Nobody had ever dared to disrespect it and yet this human thoughtless ran his mouth?
The blasphemy, the gall!
Its spear, violently sparkling, shot out, a thrust to Moros' body. He stepped to the side, dodging it. With a spin of the goblin's wrist, its tip began to give chase, following the silhouette of the human.
It missed yet again, not finished with their attack. Gologobo hunched over and his trusted wolf, Ada, jumped atop its shoulders and launched itself towards Moros, its claws swiping at his chest.
Moros reacted too late, as a bloody gash was drawn over his chest. Ruined was the costly t-shirt he got in the prisoner facility in the process.
"Ouch, you hurt…my feelings," he urged the two of them to come at him again, with a wiggle of his fingers. The smile on his face had yet to fade.
The invitation was not needed as Ava and her rider were already very convinced to attack him again. With a loud howl their next assault was launched… Gologobo spoke not a word, its eyes just entirely fixated on Moros.
The goblin ran from the left, the wolf flanked from the right, both using the cross attack to make evading their onslaught of strikes next to impossible.
Moros did not want to dodge, instead he sprinted forward. Meeting the two of them head on. A kick to the rib of the wolf caused it to whelp in pain and the spear was simply stopped by grabbing it with one hand.
Gologobo gave Moros a hearty smile, before the blue electricity burned his palm. In pain, Moros pulled the spear closer and punched the goblin in its face before jumping a few steps back.
Blood trickled down the goblin's face…it smiled; it knew it had done more damage to Moros. Ada walked to his side, the strait of the wolf noticeably slower after receiving the kick from Moros.
Moros on the other hand, took a look at his charred hand and found the skin bubbling and every movement causing a great deal of pain.
He had to admit, he had been too reckless there, thinking that a goblin and a wolf could never injure him to this extent.
Moros would not have done anything different and repeat the same mistake 10/10 times since he would still win the fight easily─but he had been too arrogant, which he did admit.
The wolf was the first to break the current standstill as it shot towards Moros again, this time wary of his kicks. Not to be bothered, Moros simply dodged when it tried to bite and pushed it away when it tried to use its claws.
In one swift movement, it pushed itself forward, but chose to simply hop over Moros now standing behind him, eyeing his every movement.
A bad feeling overcame Moros, as he had lost sight of the goblin.
Gologobo did not wait long and struck while Moros was confused. Closing in it was mere metres away before it threw the spear, still crackling so dangerously, at Moros with full force.
At a last second, Moros threw his head to the site, narrowly dodging the tip of it.
A small trail of blood fell down from his throat, yet Moros saw a deep, satisfied smile appear on its face…why was it smiling?
Another wave of terror overcame the teenager, before he turned around in a panic. Ada had grabbed the spear with its teeth and rotated its body twice, causing the spear to launch at him again with great speed.
Too late for a reaction, Moros barely twisted his body in time─hoping for a miracle.
A spear singed the flesh, it tore through the right side of his stomach. Moros let out a few grunts and pained breaths. Yet, the attack was not over, Gologobo had grabbed a hidden knife and stabbed Moros in the breath.
Causing Moros to let out another low grunt, as the waves of pain started to hit him one by one.
The fun time had grown significantly less fun for him.
Yet, inside of him welled another anger. The pair would have never expected that Moros would suddenly yank out the knife in its back.
In one swift motion, he slapped the goblin with his injured left, its head bouncing back in a daze, the right hand shot down, knife in hand, pinning the foot to the ground.
A muffled scream escaped its mouth as both Moros and Gologobo's gaze met. The two kept on biting their lips, to not let out another shout of pain.
Moros not caring for his state of being rushed forward, right fist swinging wildly towards the staggered goblin rider. Unable to move away, it pitifully tried to escape by reaching towards the knife in sheer desperation.
Yet, it was Ada that flung its body in the way to shield the goblin from certain. death. Under a pained yelping, it lifted the goblin rider atop it, with the knife still stuck in Gologobo's foot.
With its hindlegs, it swirled up dirt and blocked Moros' sight.
The descendant of Terra family clicked his teeth in annoyance, this had been the perfect chance to put the annoying goblin into the ground.
Now, he had to get all of this dirt out of his face.
Casually throwing all the dirt out of his eyes, he waited for his enemy to strike…yet the attack that he waited for never came.
Once his vision returned, he saw Gologobo hanging on the wolf, barely conscious. Its wolf desperately ran away as fast as its body allowed it to.
Yet, its rider stroked her fur and patted it softly.
"Stop, Ada…Stop…running away is…not an option," its voice, weak and feeble. The wound on his foot kept on dripping more and more blood.
"We…have…to finish this!" Each word was a struggle as Gologobo talked with great difficulty. It coughed and spat out blood as it tried to convince its trusted companion to turn around.
Ada turned around with what seemed to be tears leaving its eyes.
The goblin patted her fur once more, before lifting the spear with the remaining strength it had left.
Gathering its courage, a shout followed.
"THE GREAT GOLOGOBO SHALL NOT BE THE ONLY ONE TO FALL TODAY!"
With a battle cry and a wolf howl, they both stormed into the final clash of their years of friendship and companionship.
Moros looked at the two and wondered why every goblin had to be so dramatic? Was dying in silence not an option for any self-respecting goblin?
Thankful in his heart that this fight would be over soon, he propped his body up and decided to accept their last futile effort head-on.
Their steps came closer, both parties willing to risk everything…
Gologobo was the first one to make a move, pushing itself up from the wolf it flew in the air for the final time in its life…its spear aimed at Moros' throat, another side step…
"Too easy," a thought, another mistake.
This time the goblin spun the throat around in the air, one hand grabbing the electric end, the other its handle…before using the entire length of the spear to break Moros' balance and keep him open.
"ADAAAAAAA," its scream echoed throughout the clearing, their final attack had to succeed.
The wolf, as if possessed, launched itself forward in honour of its dying rider, its teeth ready to sink into Moro's throat.
The perfect plan, the perfect strategy, for the perfect ending to the life of the seventh lesser chieftain, Gologobo having slain the killer of the Goblin king's son, so that it could rest well, in honour for all its accomplishments.
Were there not one problem, the weight of its honour weighed much less than its body. Moros easily intercepted the attack of the wolf by jumping into the air and kicking the Ada into her snout.
Using the height, Moros simply fell to the floor and plummeted onto the ground below, crushing the resistance of Gologobo with gravity.
A final deep cry of pain escaped its mouth as it lay there on the floor, its back broken. Eyes staring emptily towards the sky itself.
Ada metres away, incapable of coming to her riders aid as Moros ripped his spear away. Her legs shot her forward, trying to be there in time, yet the spear was rotated twice in the air, and pierced the goblins' stomach shortly after.
Impaling her friend to the floor, her body shot passed Moros, who did not even look at the wolf.
Tears streamed over the wolf's face as its nudged the unmoving body of Gologobo with its snout.
"Ada…Ada…Re-remember…how…we met?"
The voice seemed silent, but happy, only the wind blew through the clearing of the woods. Gologobo's memories returned back to the days, when it was just young and helped an injured wolf pup that had been left behind by its pack.
The hours they spent together, the battles they won together, the life they have lived together…these happy moments passed by and it could not help but smile at each memory.
Feeling the life leave its body, it was not scared it looked at its best friend of many years, with a content smile.
"Don't cry…friend. Don't cry," its hands moved upwards slowly, gently caressing the head of Ada, who cried bitterly.
"I l…love yo," the monologue was cut short as Moros feet hit its head and full force, causing the last confession to be cut short.
He was not in the mood, to enjoy such a tearful goodbye, he had endured enough of that drama already, he would not wait another 20 minutes just so that goblin could finally croak in all of its dramatic fashion.
The pained howls of Ada echoed through the forest, but that's none of his concern.
Soon however, it would be… as a wolf covered in tears grasped the spear in between its wounded maw…seeking nothing but revenge.
A howl to the sky announced the vengeance to come… the battle started anew…
