The beasts were so weak that they didn't even provide enough exp to Myles to even level up once!! This was a big testament to how weak they were!
Myles shook his head forwards and looked at the corpses of the beast that he had killed. He walked towards them and tried to determine whether their remains were valuable or not.
"They aren't worthy enough to slow down my journey" Myles Munroe
None of the body parts looked too valuable.
In fact they were so worthless, Myles deemed that it was even a waste of time to extract them!! Myles shook his head and stood up without any hesitation.
"Let's resume my journey" Myles mumbled.
He climbed the nearest tree and began to charge towards the cords by jumping from one tree to another.
A day later.
Myles had finally reached his destination after taking numerous breaks in between. He had encountered a lot of beasts on his way but none of them managed to hinder him.
He was the most wary of the birds so he didn't leave the dense forest which covered him from the sky even after a minute.
Thankfully, his plan worked since now birds managed to attack him. Hence, allowing him to safely reach his destination.
"The entrance looks quite small compared to the walls of the cave" Myles thought to himself as he looked in front of him.
Currently, he was standing in front of the entrance of the cave whose walls were nearly a kilometer tall!! In comparison, the entrance was quite small, it was just a few meters wide and around a dozen meters tall.
Myles inspected the entrance and surrounding closely. He couldn't see beyond the entrance due to how dark the place was.
He didn't find any trace of the so-called fog around him, there wasn't anything special about the entrance which the plain could see.
"I guess, I need to go inside" Myles thought to himself
He took a deep breath and was just about to walk towards the entrance. But a notification flashed in his retina which got all of his attention.
(The orb of the trail has started to glow.)
(An unknown entity is calling the orb home. Maybe you should take the orb out)
Myles widened his eyes in surprise and hope upon seeing this. What did it mean for the orb to glow?
It meant he was getting closer to wherever the heritage of the Absolute Sword Monarch was sealed!!
He didn't waste any time and took the orb out from his inventory. The orb began to materialize on the palm of his left hand.
The process finished a second later. As expected, the orb was glowing faintly giving Myles a sense of relief.
"At least, I am on the right path" Myles remarked.
With a deep breath, Myles began to walk towards the entrance. Entering the cave when he got close enough. It was very dark inside but thankfully the orb provided enough light for him to watch his steps.
If it weren't for the orb then he won't see anything in the cave!!
Still the orb didn't provide him with enough light to carefully scan the surroundings. His vision was limited to a mere a meter in radius.
"I have bought a torch" Myles exclaimed, his voice regretful.
Nonetheless, he didn't stay hanged on this issue for too long. He continued to walk forward without any signs of stopping.
An hour passed away in the blink of an eye like this.
He continued to walk in a straight line for the next hour without encountering any hindrance. Though, he was always on guard for anything unexpected or maybe a surprise attack of a beast.
Thankfully, he didn't have any strange encounters until now. But it might change very soon.
All of a sudden, Myles started to feel like the air around him became heavy. The surrounding seemed to have dropped by a few degrees, causing a frown to emerge on his face.
"Something has changed." Myles concluded.
Although, Myles knew that something had changed. He had no choice but to continue to keep moving forward. A few minutes later, he spotted a little white smoke in the distance. He narrowed his eyes upon seeing this.
"It's the mysterious fog signaling that I am near the devil's forest" Myles's thought to himself.
Just a mere second later, the orb's glow increased tremendously signaling that he was getting closer to his destination.
The orb glowed so much that the radius of his vision jumped from 1 meters to 20 meters in a mere second.
Using this as an advantage, Myles looked in front of him to scan his surroundings. What he saw caused him to adopt an even serious look on his face.
Just a few meters away from him, there was a high concentration of thick fog. The fog felt hostile, unwelcoming, mysterious and dangerous to approach!!
What made the fog bizzare was that it didn't leak into the surrounding area!!.It stayed in the same position without moving.
"I must not roam around the fog carelessly" Myles thought to himself.
With this thought in mind, he carefully moved towards the fog. When he got close enough, he didn't directly jump into the fog.
"Let's just first test if it is safe to enter like this" Myles thought to himself as he raised his finger.
One of his right hand fingers slowly moved towards the fog. The moment he put his finger in the fog, he felt as if thousands of swords were slashing his finger!! Dozens of notifications flashing in his retina. Unfortunately, he didn't have the time to read any.
Myles let out a scream of pain as he pulled his finger out in an instant!
"Ahahahahsh!!"
Myles successfully managed to pull out his finger but when saw the condition of his fingers his face turned ugly.
His fingers were covered in several marks of the sword slash from where blood was pouring out.
"How the hell did my finger got so injured?" Myles thought to himself, disbelief was clearly visible on his face.
Myles didn't know the reason but he knew that the fog was responsible. He turned his attention to the notification flashing in his to seek an answer. Turns out that it didn't disappoint him.
(The wild sword energy of a powerful figure presented in the fog has injured your fingers)
(Your health has decreased by 10 as a result. You won't be able to move your fingers for the next 4 hours
Current health: 96)
(You are bleeding. You will lose 6 HP every minute for the next 3 minutes)
Myles ignored all the notifications except for the first. Since only it cleared all his doubts.
"Seems like it's a defensive mechanism but I can overcome" Myles thought to himself.
He fell in deep thought on what to do next. However, just a mere second later, the orb began to release a blue aura which engulfed his body from top to bottom.
His body greedily absorbed this aura. After the absorption was completed, the fog no longer felt the same.
The fog no longer felt unwelcoming. In fact it felt welcoming and the overall aura around the fog also changed.
At first, it felt like a guard warning him not to enter, threatening an early death if he did. But now, it felt more like a mentor calling a student to face a very difficult exam.
Myles curiously once again put his fog into the fog. The fog no longer attacked him; instead, it felt welcoming. Myles retracted his finger and took a deep breath.
"Let's enter," Myles remarked.
He stepped into the unknown completely unaware of what kind of danger he might face.
