Zen and the others calmly nodded their heads in approval upon hearing this. They signaled the soldiers to lower their weapons.
Though, the soldiers were hesitating but they did as they were told and lowered the weapons.
What was surprising to Myles was that some had lower weapons even before they were told to do so. It was as if they had expected this order a long time ago.
"Who is she?" Myles asked
"She is the commander of the red hawk swordsmen. The red hawk swordsmen are the reason why he managed to survive after your fall." Zen replied, his voice carrying gratitude.
"Not only us but many other regiments like us. The red hawk swordsmen fought the mages alone to create an opening for the other regiment to escape" Cora corrected Zen.
Aha, now it explains why neither side showed any hostility to the other. It was because they had fought shoulder to shoulder against the same enemy!!
They were also indebted to the red hawker because they helped them to escape!!
"Although, we managed to allow a lot of our allies to escape. We suffered from serious losses.
Though, I am happy that your commander is alive" The commander of the red hawker finally spoke up.
"We are very sorry for your losses." Zen sincerely apologized, his voice carrying guilt.
Afterall, if they were a bit stronger then they wouldn't have to run away. They might be able to prevent so many of their comrades from dying!!
"Let's not talk about this depressing matter anymore. We have better things to do now.
I was very impressed by the way your commander fought against the enemy." The commander of the red hawks remarked as she stared at Myles.
Myles was completely unaware how Aldrich fought against his enemy. But he nonetheless decided to play dumb.
"I am flattered by your praise, but I am not so good. Since I am unable to utilize sword aura." Myles said with a sigh.
"I know but this is what makes you even more unique!! You fought so excellent against the enemy with your marvelous sword art alone! I dare not imagine what would happen if your slash were boosted by the powerful and unique properties of a sword art!!
I am sure with your sword art, we will stand a much higher chance of regaining the sword pavilion!" The commander of red hawks remarked.
Myles smiled bitterly, especially when he heard the last line of words.
He didn't even know how to perform the sword art of Aldrich! So how was he supposed to defeat his enemies with it!
It might have been different if he possessed his status window.
"I need to do something about it," Myles thought to himself.
He needed to do something about it. Otherwise, he might blow his identity away.
"By the way are you heading towards the sword pavilion?" Commander of the red hawks asked, attracting everyone's attention.
They nodded their heads, signaling that they were indeed heading there.
"Let's travel together, it will increase our chances of surviving any ambush." The commander remarked.
"Exactly my thoughts" Myles replied.
Myles also had similar thoughts, he was just to let others know of his opinions. But the commander of the red hawks did it before him.
"What do you say?" Myles asked as he looked at his captions.
"We obviously don't have any problem with it," Hector replied.
"Then let us not waste any time and advance forward" The commander of the red hawks said.
With that being said, they resumed their journey to the sword pavilion together. Although, they were moving together. Their troops maintained a healthy distance away from one another. So that they won't get mixed with one another.
The red hawks suggested moving in a single formation since it would strengthen their forces. Myles was intrigued by the offer.
However, his captions rejected this offer without giving Myles even a second to speak. They had a simple yet a proper reason to do so.
That was synergy. The troops of two different armies didn't have anything in common. So it will be very difficult for them to work together.
In fact it might even worsen their performance. Hence, they dropped this idea.
"Thank god I didn't get the time to support this idea" Myles thought to himself.
Commander Aldrich was immensely respected among his men for his extraordinary leadership. If he had supported his idea then wouldn't his leadership be questioned.
With his leadership being questioned and him not performing any of his signature sword art, wouldn't his identity be started to question.
"I need to be more careful," Myles thought to himself as he walked forward.
He continued to walk forward without any signs of stopping.
A few minutes later.
It was slowly getting dark signaling that night was falling. The darkness not only signifies the falling of the night but also the starting of the counterattack of the union.
The two armies led by Myles and the others had ceased advancing all of a sudden.
The leaders of the respective armies looked in front of them.
Just 2 to 3 km ahead of them was what looked like a small city. The city had small buildings which seemed to be made up of very tough material.
At the center of the city was a very grand castle. The castle was at the very least a few hundred meters tall.
Not only that it was made up of a shining white metal. The metal looked like that or could take an enormous amount of beating.
It didn't take a genius to understand that the castle was the sword pavilion. As for the rest of the building, they were mere decorations in his eyes.
"It will be nearly impossible to breach into the sword pavilion using force" Myles thought to himself.
"We have a way to open the gates without using force" The commander of the red hawks remarked.
Myles nodded his head and focused all of his attention in front of him.
People covered in red, green, black and various other robes were crawling all over the city. Each one of them possessed an aura no weaker than that of a D- grade fighter.
They seemed to be casting various spells, proven by the numerous magic circles lying on the ground.
"Be on your guard everyone, anything can move any second now" Caption Zen declared as he looked at their troops.
Every single soldier nodded and tightly gripped their sword like their life depended on it.
"Shall we strike now?" Myles asked.
"No, we should wait for some sort of signal to strike. Besides, dusk has not completely fallen yet" The commander of the red hawks remarked.
With that being said, they waited patiently for someone to strike. Just a few minutes later, dusk had finally fallen upon them.
The darkness of the night descended and the red crimson full moon rose up in the sky. Providing them with a bit of light in the absolute darkness.
Just as they were waiting for a signal to strike, a loud sound millions of times greater than any thunderbolt resounded through their ears!!
"It's time." Commander of the red hawk said.
