Chapter 46 - Chapter 46: Moral Boost

Myles learned a lot about the union and the alliance. The Great Mage Alliance was formed by the mages due to the rise of the technology.

The rise of technology was constantly threatening the heritage of the mages. It's because the scientists were constantly making inventions by merging magic and technology. Which performed countless times better than its pure magic counterpart.

Even though scientists were also using magic. The mages refused to acknowledge them as proper magic. The mages believed that real magic didn't need to use any cold metallic parts to work.

Tha mages all over the continents weak or strong gathered at the same place. Under the leadership of the great mages, the strongest mages out there.

All the mages in the continents united as one to protect their heritage. This led to the birth of the Great Mage Alliance.

They had one goal and that was to destroy the empire of technology. Or that was everyone thought

It was originally supposed to be a battle between Mechanical Fighter and Mages but it all changed when the mages announced a single thing.

They declared war against the entire world for supporting the rise of technology! No one who supported them was allowed to exist!

This caused every fighter regardless of their class well apart from mages to unite as one. Which gave birth to the union.

Just days after the declaration of the war, chaos and war sweep over the entire continent.

It was unknown who pulled the strings to start such a great war. But it was certain that this war didn't start on its own.

"Well it doesn't matter, I will probably leave after completing my trails" Myles thought to himself.

Well for a moment, Myles suspected that the Absolute Sword Monarch was showing him an event in the past.

However, he shook his head after giving it a thought. Afterall, would the Zenithian concord allow a scale of this war to happen in their watch?

The answer was quite obvious.

"They will never allow a war of this scale to occur. Since, it might threaten their rule." Myles thought to himself.

He didn't even know if the Zenithian concord existed in this world that he descended in the first place. If they didn't then it was certain that the illusion was not showing an event from the past.

Since the Zenithian Concord were hedgehogs since the beginning of human civilization.

"Commmonder, I think we should retreat from the battlefield right now. We can't afford to suffer from any lose" Caption Hector remarked.

"We can't!! If we lose the fight here then the union will be put in a major disadvantage!

We can't allow these mage's to dominate the entire continent!" Caption Zen remarked her voice carrying seriousness.

"I agree with Zen! Furthermore if we lose then the swordsman will be at the risk of losing its heritage.

Since the sword pavilion, the paradise of swordsmanship is just ahead! We can't allow anything to have it!" Caption Cora shouted her voice carrying seriousness.

"So what should we do! Lead our comrades to their death" Caption Hector remarked.

Seeing the argument escalating to a greater height. Myles saw the need to interrupt.

"SILENCE!! QUIET DOWN! WE ARE SURROUNDED BY ENEMIES, IT ISN'T THE TIME FOR US TO FIGHT WITH ONE ANOTHER!!!!" Myles exclaimed, his voice carrying authority.

Thankfully, his words worked like a charm since the three of them fell silent just a mere seconds later. It wasn't enough to get rid of their anger.

"Then what do you want us to do Commander." Caption Hector remarked, anger was clearly visible in his voice.

"If you know anything about the current condition of the battlefield, then please let me know" Myles ordered.

"The mighty sword saint is currently fighting against the three wicked Great Mages.

At the same time, we have received information that various forces are preparing to launch a surprise attack at the mages right before dawn.

The mages are currently in the process of setting up a sealing barrier around the sword pavilion.

If they succeed, then they will gain control of the sword pavilion which can't be allowed to happen!

The mages are also very weak now so it's our chance to strike" Caption Zen exclaimed.

"Have you forgotten that the mages still have Sage Hazel. An A-grade mage and the direct disciple of the Great Mages" Caption Hector remarked.

"Every mage who is above Grade: B is fighting their union counterpart. At most we will have to fight with a Grade: B mage.

So you don't have to worry about that." Caption Zen remarked

"Let's assume that we managed to take control of the sword pavilion. But what if the high ranking fighters lose?

What if sword saint losses? I don't doubt his abilities but the sword saint is greatly outnumbered!!" Caption Hector said, his voice carrying concern.

"I admit, if the Sword Saint loses, all our efforts will be for nothing. But if he wins, nothing else matters—even if everyone else falls! He alone can deal with our enemies if the Great Mages are defeated. Still, the Union forces will be worn out, maybe even injured. And the Sword Saint… he might not come out unscathed either.

That's why we need a secure place to recover. We have to take control of the Sword Pavilion, now. This isn't about heritage anymore—it's about survival!" Captain Cora remarked, her voice carrying a sense of urgency.

Though Myles didn't know what was special about the sword pavilion. He knew that it was of great importance to swordsmen.

"Commander please give us a command so that we can proceed accordingly" Commander Zen remarked all of a sudden.

Upon hearing this, everyone's attention was drawn towards him waiting for his commands.

Myles looked like he fell in deep thought upon hearing this. To be honest, it was all an act. Since he had decided what to do a long time ago.

"Prepare for Battle" Myles remarked.

The system had told him to prove his courage to pass the trial. If he retreated from the difficulties like a coward, wasn't he doing the opposite of what the system had told him?

As for casualties of the forces? He didn't care since he wasn't going to stick around after he had completed the quest.

Upon hearing this, a frown formed on Hector's face. He looked betrayed.

"Commander please reconsider, our troops aren't in the conditions to fight" Caption Hector his voice carrying seriousness.

He diverted his attention towards his soldiers. They numbered up to thousands. They were standing quietly as the captain and commander talked about their next course of action.

Their morals didn't seem too low but they seemed to lack the drive to fight. Myles knew that it might become a problem in the future.

Realizing what Myles was thinking, Zen decided to intervene

"Hector is wrong, they just need a push. Commander if you allow me then I can raise their morals" Zen remarked facing Myles.

"Do it"

Zen faced towards them and did something that shocked Myles.

"We have lost thousands of our comrades in the last battle. In fact if not for the help of a certain person then all of us would be killed." Zen remarked his voice carrying sadness.

"However, I am certain that those who died were happy at the last moment. Do you know why that is?" Caption Zen asked.

Silence, no one spoke a single word.

"IT BECAUSE THEY DIED KNOWING THAT THEY HAVE HELPED PROTECT THE SWORD PAVILION. THE PARADISE OF SWORDSMANSHIP.

IF WE LET THE SWORD PAVILION FALL THEN THE DEATHS OF OUR COMRADES WILL BE IN VAIN!"

"So TELL ME ARE YOU WILLING LET THE DEATHS OF YOUR COMRADES TO GO IN VAIN"

"NO!!"

"ARE YOU WILLING TO LET THE KILLERS OF YOUR ENEMIES LIVE"

"NO!!!!"

"THEN LET US CREATE POOLS OF BLOOD OF THE KILLERS OF OUR COMRADES! LET US MARCH TOWARDS THE SWORD PAVILION!!!

FOR SWORDSMANSHIP! FOR OUR FALLEN COMRADES!!

"FOR SWORDSMANSHIP! FOR OUR FALLEN COMRADES!!"

"FOR SWORDSMANSHIP! FOR OUR FALLEN COMRADES!!"

"FOR SWORDSMANSHIP! FOR OUR FALLEN COMRADES!!"

The soldiers roared in unions. Zen had successfully increased their morals.
