Bryce couldn't keep the small smile off his face as he relaxed back into his seat. And so, the only issue left was to convince the woman to agree to it. Devon found Bryce worthy of being his rival due to his wisdom and ability to think of mostly unconventional solutions. Though Devon was highly intelligent, he had to acknowledge defeat to Bryce when it came to wisdom.
Muylin stepped into the Rolls Royce once more, ready to head to the annual event hosted by the city's mayor. She donned a navy-blue dress, with a slit on one side, that hugged her figure as it accentuated her every curve, becoming loose from her knees down. The dress was custom made with an attached polo-neck that extended up to her face from the dress, so it was technically a polo-face. [The author sends her most sincere apologies for that awful dad joke.] She completed the look with silver stilettos that strapped around her shanks, a pair of black sunglasses, a silver purse glittered on the front and silver jewellery. Her puffy, obsidian hair formed a neat, shiny afro that gave off the aura of a fearless, black queen, which she was. She looked noble, sexy and gorgeous all at the same time. She had no date, but she did have her men to accompany and protect her. Sam wore a grey suit that hugged his lean body to a T, while Rowen and one other man were clad in black suits that fit their ripped muscles like a glove.
A Maserati followed by a Bentley stopped at the entrance as Bryce and Devon, respectively, exited the cars with their dates. Bryce held his date's waist, a beautiful Latina woman with a slender body that lacked no curves. It was said she was his girlfriend, the girl Bryce dumped Muylin for. Camera flashes immediately went off as reporters shoved mics in their faces whilst throwing question after question.
"Mr Cameron, Mr Stone, could you please tell us how the arrival of Ms Saw has made you feel?"
"Mr Cameron, Mr Stone, are you two intimidated by Ms Saw's arrival?"
"How long do you reckon you have left before Ms Saw takes over Star City?"
"Do you think you have a fighting chance against someone as strong as Ms Saw?"
"What's it like knowing that you're both trivial in comparison to Ms Saw?"
"Trivial" the reporter said. The last question struck a nerve in both men as they froze for an inconspicuous millisecond before carrying on, calmly ignoring all the questions. Bryce, knowing he couldn't let people see how nervous he was about the situation, turned to a mic with a lazy smile hanging off his lips.
"No comment," he politely said, saving both himself and Devon in the process.
They entered, gaining the stares of many people already present as they turned to each other and began whispering. Devon and Bryce settled into the event with their still characters, giving off no suspicions or signs of any inner conflict, making people wonder what was in the minds of Star City's leading entrepreneurs. They had agreed to approach Amanda Saw together with the drawn-up proposal and try to talk her into agreement. However, the only flaw in their plan was that they had no plan B, meaning if they failed, there would be no sleeping that night.
