A few minutes later, Alanie entered the dining room while holding the pregnancy test in her hand. Her face was pale as she entered the room. She collapses before she can even finish her sentence, and Paul manages to catch her just in time before her head hits the ground. "I'm..." she says as she passes out.
I notice two lines on the stick when I get to her location.
She is pregnant.
When Paul glances down at the ground, he notices the examination. Alanie is being held by him in his arms. "She's pregnant." He is the one who announces the news to the room.
Quinn approaches his brother and rests his hand on his shoulder before walking closer to him. "Congrats, brother."
"We should take her to the hospital."
I am under Quinn's gaze. "Lydia is currently speaking with our physician over the phone. He will arrive very soon to examine her. We prefer to seek medical attention from the same physician whenever someone in our house becomes ill, including the woman who lives here.
"But..."
Lydia is holding the phone as she approaches closer to me. "He is seen by two doctors. I had the female one on the line. When I was pregnant, I promised him that I would not let a male examine me. It was he. I have no choice except to employ someone to do it for me.
"Dinner next weekend at my parent's place will be much more interesting."
She laughs, Lydia. "I wish I were there to see what your brother is like."
Melvin approaches me and wraps his arms around me as he advances closer to me. "
"They don't want to be friendly. A lot of things happened to me when I initially became friends with her when I was in kindergarten. I remember all of those things. It is still a source of nightmares for me.
I struck him on the arm. "It wasn't that bad."
It is a laugh. Putting worms in my meat pie, as you phrased it, was a good idea. The inside of the pie was hot, and they were wriggling in response to the heat.
The two of us, Lydia and I, chuckle.
Quinn looks around at us. "The worst day of our lives was when a girl met our father. He would draw a gun on them and point it at their heads while he was at them. He said it. "Are you sure you want to join this family?" I once had a girlfriend who would urinate on the floor, and I am convinced that she would even urinate on herself. Quick and astute, she made her way out of the house."
I give a head shake. It's not that I blame her. Who would have anticipated that the father of their boyfriend would draw a pistol on them? Could you permit me to speculate? Most likely, it was to determine whether or not the girl was deserving of the family.
With Alanie in his arms, Paul pushes himself to his feet. "It was." A glance is given to his brother. "I'm glad that Quinn ended that bastard's life." Once he leaves the room, he leaves.
On the ground, Quinn casts his gaze.
This was not anything that I had anticipated coming out of his mouth.
They definitely ought to keep topics about the family to themselves.
They constantly forget that they only met me a little over two hours ago.
I will leave and go home as soon as Alanie comes to.
As Melvin's phone rings, he removes himself from the conversation. He exits the room and stops close to the building's entrance.
After grabbing my hand, Lydia yanks me out of the room and into the hallway. "Let's check on your sister."
We make our way to the second floor by ascending the stairs.
You can find Alanie in the room at the very end of the passageway.
Upon our arrival, Paul raises his head. This woman is dehydrated. The physician administered some fluids to her. Hopefully, she will be waking up very soon.
Melvin and Quinn are seen entering the room together. On the other side of me is he. "Just now, I received a phone call from an agent, who informed me that the movie's filming will begin tomorrow at five. It is time for me to leave.
"I'll go with you," I reply, looking at Paul. "Can she stay the night?"
"Sure. Do you want me to drop her off at the office in the morning?"
I give a head shake. Tell her not to work for a few days. The fact that she won't be able to come in will be communicated to my superiors. She can draw things for our new range of products if she desires. You are free to send them to me via mail if you need to.
"Okay," he says with a grin. I am relieved to learn that her sketches are going to be turned into actual garments. A few weeks ago, she crafted suits for Quinn and me. A few males have even requested that she build one for them.
"Is she going to do it?"
"Yes, I am." Charles takes a seat. She is looking at me. "Sister, I applaud your presence this evening. To me, it meant everything in the world.
After making my way over to her, I offer her a bear embrace. "I'll elaborate on it once more, Alanie. You have a decent man there. In spite of his negative behavior, I feel that it is for a good reason. I can tell that the Gottis are looking to get away from the shady things that they have been doing.
There is a cross between Quinn's arms. "Have you been talking to my wife?"
I chuckle to myself. "No," I respond while glancing at him. If you were a really evil person, you would have shot me rather than allowing me to enter your home. I've heard that you are constructing a youth centre and an orphanage. The children of this generation will be grateful to you for doing this.
"I'll walk you out." According to Paul.
As Quinn follows us out of the room, Melvin takes my hand, and we walk out together.
During the time that you were spent with your sister, I called my driver. He will be the one to take you back home. Quinn explains it to us.
"Thanks, Quinn."
"You're welcome."
Lydia strolls next to him, and as soon as we reach the entrance, she gives me a hug. "Call me during the week, and we can organise a girls' night."
"That would be nice." After hearing the sound of a gun being fired, I am dragged behind the wall of the home.
It appears that Quinn is enclosing Melvin with his body.
"Shit," Quinn gives orders to his men, and he arranges for three of them to take Lydia, Melvin, and I straight down to the basement.
"What about Alanie?"
Paul stares at me with awe. "I'll be with her." He then flees the room while pointing the gun toward the door from which he entered.
When we arrived in the basement, the three men led us down and locked the door, enclosing us inside.
After making her way to the lounge, Lydia takes a seat there. As she does so, she takes a magazine from the table and begins to flick through it.
She is likely used to this.
Melvin comes over to talk to me. "Are you alright?"
"Yeah," I say, lying.
He is aware that I am also lying.
I am trembling, and I am undoubtedly looking pale.
I am lowered to the ground by Melvin, sitting on the ground himself.
He is presumably accustomed to being shot at because he has been in films in which he has been shot. Even if they were blanks, the bullets currently in circulation are genuine.
When I glance down at my hands, I notice that they are covered in blood. I feel something sticky on them. "Melvin," "Hmm," "Have you been shot?"
Lydia suddenly gets to her feet and makes a beeline for us.
"No," Melvin responds. His gaze is directed inward.
This is Lydia moving my shirt. "You were shot, Katherine." She examines it in greater detail. "The bullet went through."
"Oh," says the person; at that point, everything becomes dark.
As I approach Melvin's face, my hands get closer to him. "I love you, Melvin."
Putting his hand on the wound, he addressed it. "Katherine, you must not give in to the pain. Make sure you don't fall asleep, sweetie.
Suddenly, my eyes start to close.
The man taps my face. I can't afford to lose you, baby, Katherine. Keep your eyes open, please.
I can hear Lydia say something when the entrance to the basement opens. "She's been shot."
After that, I completely lose consciousness.
