Elijah POV
It has been a few years since we got to Europe so far not much is different about this place compared to our old home but some of the cities have their charms i wonder though why our brother wanted to come here when we could have made the country of our birth just as prosperous as this this continent perhaps he simply wanted to explore his European roots can't i'm not a bit curious myself.
When we first got here against my advice we all decided to split up and go our separate ways which will either make things better or worse depending on how things much things go i must admit after being separated for almost a decade it seems that Niklaus was the glue that held our broken family together without him idk if we'll recover one can only hope but things aren't all bad atleast everyone else is alive.
Now i must find something to occupy my time while lost in thought he hears someone playing a musical instrument in fact he sees several people doing it he becomes mesmerized by it so he walks up to them they get worried a little bit until he asks if they can teach him to play he pulls out a sack of gold and they agree they teach him to play the lute the flute the guitar and the bongo drums he practices until he becomes the best musician there is.
over the centuries he became quite the accomplished muscian the best in the world a master of every instument also he learned how to fight using the styles of kenpo , boxing , judo , jiujitsu , karate , wing chun , and tai chi his final task was combing them together which he did in 400 years but it wouldn't have taken him so long if he wasn't so busy trying to distract Rebekah away from Klaus so she would go after good looking but otherwise worthless men who had nothing to offer and was abusive every time she dated a good looking guy.
Even a less good looking guy just wanted to get her in bed then shame her for being easy then once that was over she would kill them Elijah always cleaned up the mess without complaint he just hopes that Niklaus never learns about these events or he fears that he might kill whoever is tormenting Rebekah which was the secondary command of Finn to make her suffer for her causing the death of their mother one night Rebekah sighs then asks how much longer is finn going to make you do this Elijah he sighs and says idk.
I wasn't given a deadline hopefully soon because i'd rather not keep hurting you anymore Rebekah asks is that for my mental health or do you fear for your life Elijah says this is why he had me do it you know you abused your relationship with our brother and even now you still think that even if he were a whole world away if you called he would come running to you like a long lost lover if you just whispered honeyed words into his ear and said a bunch of lies like you usually did then he'll kill all who oppose you.
She says yeah pretty much i mean i really have no intention of letting him share a bed with me not even to make a child he doesn't deserve to be inside me Elijah cuts her off but these worthless humans do she smirks and says no they don't in fact i'm still a virgin i simply used magic to make them think that i slept with them i learned it from a few witches in town it's a passive spell that i can activate anytime i want just by channeling my own vampire energy.
Elijah is floored upon hearing that then asks why does it seem like there were two people in the bed Rebekah says that's because there was you see every guy that "hooks up" with me is really doing it with a woman that has a crush on them and what they don't know is that come the end of the weekend if they don't die is that those women end up pregnant those men instantly remember who they really had sex with once i find out if they are pregnant or not.
Elijah nods then asks why doesn't Niklaus deserve you she says he abandoned me he was supposed to take me with him it was supposed to be us against the world Elijah slaps her she looks at him stunned he says I truly think that if not for your mind games he would have but right now he's trying to sort out everything that you did to him hows he going to figure out where he stands as a person or even who he is with you constantly whispering in his ear.
She nods then says sorry about that he says don't worry besides from what Finn told me our brother has gone into exile we won't see him again for quite some time she looks down at that then she leaves going her own way as well Kol does the same leaving him alone again to explore this world on his own he was just enjoying his siblings company when everything had to go pear shaped.
He travels the world and meets the best musicians in the world he studies under all of them he does the same with the theater he is in several plays throughout the years also he experiences the rise and fall of lots of civilizations he didn't bother taking part in their politics he just stole their knowledge after their kingdoms crumbled he even stole their currency thinking that it might be worth something someday.
Elijah eventually became obsessed with the history behind a city or an object so he would study every type of history he could as long as it had nothing to do with violence he became a self taught historian he traveled the globe studying the world's history in the hopes of understanding his own a little better but no matter how much he learned or the wonderful places he visited he never came up with any answers to save his family from themselves.
In his mind the hardest one to convince to come back to the family is Niklaus he just hopes that he can figure out how to find him and get him out of his self imposed exile so we can be a family again as he was lost in his thoughts while walking through an ancient city that no one uses anymore he almost bumped into someone he stops walking sees who it was and his blood runs cold it's his father Mikael.
Mikael studies Elijah for a few minutes then says hello boy i notice that you're alone just like Finn was when i ran into him 100 years ago Elijah got really worried now he was about to say something or attack Mikael but Mikael just chuckles and says relax Elijah i'm not going to start hunting you children yet it hasn't even been a 1,000 years yet no i want you guys to get stronger more knowledgeable atleast 2,000 years old before i start hunting you down.
Elijah asks why wait why just kill us now Mikael says because i made a mistake i should have taken that strength i gave your brother for myself but i also knew that had i done that Esther would have enslaved me so i split it with Klaus he got to be the strongest among us and i got to be her slave Elijah says you better hope he doesn't figure that out or you're dead before you can even draw that stake you're carrying Mikael says you do have a point but i can use his fear of me so that fight never happens.
Elijah shakes his head and says i'm not apart of this it's between the two of you after all if it wasn't for mother Tatia would still be alive Mikael asks hows that Elijah says because i saw her slit her throat to lock away Niklaus's werewolf side that night Mikael thinks back to that night and says well she was going to be used for another spell but he triggered his wolf gene.
Elijah asks what spell Mikael says Esther was going to undo the vampire spell to keep her secret but it was too late your brother transformed and killed scores of people Elijah scoffs then says coming from the man who has killed the same amount with his sword i don't see the difference except you knew what you were doing Niklaus didn't Mikael frowns but can't help but agree.
Mikael leaves Elijah in a blur of speed that's as fast as a newborn vampire can do but to Elijah it seems like he's moving at supersonic speeds Elijah so obsessed with that ability tries it out for himself and for years he can't do it until he finally can but it takes everything he has to move at newborn vampire speeds he keeps pushing it but he can't go any faster he can only go for longer distances.
By the time he masters it his speed hasn't improved at all but he can cover from one side of the country to the other in an hour which most people would take days weeks or months he only takes an hour however he realizes that he needs to discover what other abilities he has if he wants to survive so he toys with his body trying to figure out his new abilities he learns that his senses have been heightened he masters those next is his strength.
He trains that as best as he can so that when he fights a human he doesn't kill them with one blow that's why he's training with a witch who's using magic weights on his body so he can adjust his speed and strength to go from vampire to human levels he trains like this for 300 years pushing his body to the limit however he soon discovers that despite all of his training and travelling to learn the various martial arts he did his vampire speed hasn't improved very much only doubled that's it.
He has also learned a new ability he can compel people to do things he has yet to actually practice it though also just in case he tangles with witches he starts studying magic he knows that he won't be able to use it but knowing what you're up against and how to counter it is always best in his studies he comes across a jewel that can block most spells as long as the witch isn't stronger than the jewel itself he finds it in Egypt and has the stone set into his daylight ring combine with the stone for daylight rings the witch doing the spell was none the wiser.
He paid her in jewels so she didn't say anything plus he could tell that she was new to the craft he gave her the tomes he picked up in his travels while studying magic she was really appreciative so much so that she blessed his most troublesome family member with good fortune and without him knowing it as they had a relationship Elijah blessed her with a child but she never told him because she knew that he had to be moving on again soon.
After that Elijah headed for America he traveled all over the continent for awhile until he heard tales of a place that he could make his own so he headed for New Orleans in 1700
