Rebekah's Pov
Unlike the rest of her siblings she didn't just want to explore just to explore no she wanted to live the high life and live like royalty in oreder to do that she practiced how to compel people as well as vampires all of the time she even practiced how to fight against other vampires by having her father's vampires train her also she compelled several members of the royal court of each country she visited to teach her how to get by in society as well as how to navigate through their politics and how to outsmart them.
She did this for years until she got into a situation that diplomacy seduction and hypnosis wouldn't get her out of and that is war no matter who she flirted with or manipulated or bribed war was still declared even if she gave money to the poor in both her land and their's it didn't matter even sending builders farmers and doctors didn't stop them her military advisor told her that it doesn't matter how giving you are or how nice you are some people will just want your wealth and power for themselves.
She messaged her father for help he actually did come help her she explained her current situation to him he sighed then asked are you afraid of war or your subjects finding out what you are she says both he says well other than Niklaus you will be the only one of your siblings who will have any combat experience she asks what about Niklaus Mikael says pretty much ever since you all seperated he's done nothing but fight and train himself in combat knowing that i'm hunting him down.
Rebekah says lets get this over with he nods all of the generals meet in the waroom going over the battle plans they hear the doors open see an older man and their queen walk in she sits on her throne he stands next to her the highest ranking general also her advisor walks up to her he asks your highness who's that man next to you she says this is my father Mikael he used to be a warrior before he married my mother and had us.
The general says my name is Aldo i'm the highest ranking one here if you don't mind me asking what type of warrior were you Mikael says no i don't mind in fact i'll even tell you where i came from i'm a viking from Norway Aldo nods then says i'd heard that the vikings never made it this far into the world before Mikael says as a warband that's true we only made it to Russia and Germany as well as Ireland and Scotland but Mikael says during my travels i've heard tales of a rather ambitious viking who wants to explore more than just those same places.
Aldo says so have i but he might not make it after all we both know that the sea can be a cold and unforgiving mistress mikael chuckles and says yes she can be but she can also get you where you want to go if you know where you are going or if by luck you end up discovering something by accident that's half the fun Aldo agrees then asks wht do you think is the right resonse to how we should deal with our new enemy Mikael asks are they building fortifications Aldo says yes Mikael asks are they gathering supplies building up their armory and getting their men ready Aldo says yes they are according to our spies they will be war ready in 3 months.
Mikael asks are we war ready Aldo says yes Mikael says clear out every grain store every way they have to feed themselves starve them out then block them in so they can't get out also get every siege engine we have set them a few miles away from their main base close enough to still do damage but far away enough to not get hit with arrows aldo and the generals nods they put everything in motion the whole operation takes a month to do.
When shown a map of their castle as well as the surrounding grounds Rebekah studies the map for a few days then says put archers in the forest surrounding the castle in every direction on every road also have warriors backing them up no more than 20 Aldo says i don't mean to question you your highness but doing that will take away 1/4 of our army she says i know that but my instincts are telling me that somehow they have a way to sneak out of the castle Aldo says it's possible each castle is built with secret ways in and out in case of invasions sieges or just plain secret rooms.
When aldo told Mikael about Rebekah's idea he thinks about it then says that's too much of your army for such a task go with half that number for now just more spread out she nods Mikael also tells the men that each warrior will carry a bow and arrow a knife a survival kit a first aid kit and their favorite weapon they did as told and went where they were told as well for the first week nothing happned but it did give those who had no experience to practice their archery skills.
For the next 3 weeks nothing happened then the next day several people tried to escape from the castle going on any road they could to get help they never made it as they were all struck down by an arrow they did this once a month mikael one day laughs his ass off when he figures it out Aldo asks what's so funny Mikael says they know know that everyone that they send out is just going to be killed so they keep doing it in order to shrink the population in order to save food.
Aldo asks why haven't you given the order for the catapults yet mikael says because this war isn't mine it's hers and just because i planned it out doesn't mean i'm the one in charge he says maybe so but she listens to you mikael says your child would too if you were saving their kingdom Rebekah keeps getting advice to just end the war already as this war is draining both kingdoms so she says use the catapults the men put rocks on the catapults then she tells them light them on fire they pour oil on them light them and launch them nonstop until the castle is a pile of rubble.
Rebekah gathers all of her equipment and men then heads home only to find it completely destroyed and a flag is soaring over the land the flag is of the Byzantine empire both Mikael and Rebekah can smell nothing but werewolves she says it's time we gathered our family for this Mikael says i think you're right besides it's been along time since i had a good hunt Rebekah asks is it possible to find out what pack they came from Mikael says just by their scent alone no.
Once her siblings heard about what happened they rushed right over everyone but Nikalus showed up one because he wasn't invited and two because Mikael would try to kill him as soon as he saw him once everyone got settled Mikael told them that what they were doing when this happened and why they didn't notice another attacking army take out their country Kol just uses magic and rebuilds it to how Rebekah had it before then once everyone gets relaxed and fed.
Mikael asks is there anyway we can track them down Kol says yes there is they left plenty of their ded here for us to use so Kol goes to each dead soldier looks at their stuff gets some of their blood then does a tracking spell it takes them to Constantinople Finn says we need to be careful Rebekah asks why's that Elijah says i know what you're talking about the human supremicist country the Holy Roman empire Mikael scoffs then says i'm not worried about them.
Kol says maybe not but in my travels i've heard tales of these two empires going to extreme lengths to frame the other and outright destroy the other due to one having werewolves and the other hating any and all supernaturals even though they enslave them Rebekah says that's horrible Kol says it's no different than them enlaving each other Mikael says the boy has a point humans have always done these kinds of things for either money or power.
Rebekah asks so are we going to take them down or not Kol says no we are not she asks why not Kol says the only one here strong enough is father and he looks like he hasn't fed in years the only other option is Niklaus but idk if i want to be that cruel to them Mikael says lets do it who knows what will happen if we don't and it's not like he's doing anything important anyways Kol says ok then begins to channel his family to take over Klaus's mind so he can kill their enemies for them they do this particular spell several times over the centuries.
