Chapter 11 - Helicopter

Sylas opened the door and walked out slowly.

Clarissa, hiding behind the door, watched as Sylas disappeared into the night.

She was extremely worried but also felt a sense of wonder and an indescribable feeling.

In the dark, Sylas moved quickly. Without streetlights, his movements were concealed by the night, so he didn't have to worry about being spotted.

As for the zombies, Sylas was even less concerned.

With the Zombie Aura, they wouldn't attack him.

Sylas walked through the neighborhood, observing the zombies around him.

There were many zombies nearby.

And at night, they were all more active.

Even without any humans to attract them, the zombies wandered around aimlessly.

The nighttime streets were indeed very dangerous.

Only because of the Zombie Aura could Sylas walk around safely.

After circling the neighborhood, Sylas felt unsatisfied and decided to head outside.

He wanted to see what the streets were like at night.

This was the first time Sylas had seen the streets at night in the apocalypse.

Under the dark sky, the streets were densely packed with zombies.

The sight made Sylas's scalp tingle.

He couldn't understand how the streets, which were so empty during the day, became so crowded with zombies at night.

Even with the protection of the Zombie Aura, Sylas grew uneasy.

If a zombie did attack him now, he'd be doomed.

Suddenly, the roar of engines filled the sky, and a helicopter flew overhead.

The zombies, drawn by the sound, began to chase the helicopter.

The streets, filled with zombies, quickly became congested as they all moved towards the helicopter.

In the night sky, a sharp cry suddenly pierced the air, and it seemed like the helicopter was under attack.

Sylas saw a dark figure rush into the helicopter.

Screams echoed from inside, and then the helicopter crashed into a building with a thunderous explosion, leaving nothing behind.

Sylas took a sharp breath. He hadn't anticipated that even helicopters weren't safe in this era.

There was something in the sky that could fly.

Whether it was a mutated bird or some other monstrous creature, it was a terrifying presence.

Boom.

A heavy thudding sound approached, and a two-meter-tall giant zombie appeared before Sylas.

Sylas held his breath instinctively.

The zombie was enormous, standing out among the others like a crane among chickens.

The giant zombie didn't notice Sylas and continued on its path, soon passing by him.

Once it was gone, Sylas exhaled slowly.

A mutated zombie!

Sylas realized that this giant zombie was definitely a mutated one.

Zombies disliked sunlight, so during the day, they would hide.

Sylas hadn't seen many zombies during the day, nor had he seen any mutated ones.

But that didn't mean they didn't exist.

The city at night was incredibly dangerous.

Sylas made this assessment in his mind.

This outing had been quite fruitful.

At the very least, Sylas now knew that the city was extremely perilous at night.

He also learned that mutated zombies had appeared in the city.

Sylas didn't know how strong these mutated zombies were.

But it was clear that they were much more powerful than ordinary zombies.

Sylas slowly walked back towards the villa, having gathered all the necessary intel. There was no reason to stay out any longer.

Since it was nighttime, Sylas didn't have to worry about being spotted.

He walked quickly and soon returned to the villa.

Knowing it was Sylas, Clarissa hurriedly opened the door.

"I'm so glad you're back. You scared me to death," Clarissa said, patting her chest.

Sylas's eyes briefly glanced at her chest.

Hmm, quite big, he thought to himself.

"What was that noise? It was terrifying," Clarissa asked.

"It was the sound of a helicopter explosion," Sylas said gravely. "There was a helicopter trying to escape, but it got attacked by something in the night sky and crashed. The explosion you heard was from that crash."

Clarissa's face turned pale.

She had previously thought about contacting a helicopter to get her out.

But now, it seemed that even helicopters weren't safe.

Even helicopters could be attacked.

Trembling, Clarissa asked, "I thought there were only zombies. What could attack a helicopter?"

Sylas replied seriously, "Zombies can mutate, so can animals."

"What attacked the helicopter might have been a mutated bird."

"Normally, birds wouldn't attack helicopters, but mutated birds can."

"However, it was too dark to see clearly what attacked the helicopter."

"In any case, the skies are no longer safe," Sylas sighed.

Clarissa, visibly shaken, said fearfully, "With zombies and mutated animals, how are we supposed to survive?"

Random Task: "Calm Clarissa's fears. Reward: Night Vision."

Sylas was taken aback; he hadn't expected a random task to appear.
