Ajax started to look into the books in the library at Ceil's suggestion. He took several books and piled them up on a reading table. As he collected the books from the shelves, his book pile began to look like a tower. When he stopped collecting the books, he looked at his collection and asked Ceil, "Are we going to read all of this?"
Ceil replied, "Of course, we have to read all of these. If you miss a single one, you won't make full use of my ability and yours."
Ajax, looking at the tower of books, laughed and said, "If I had read all this in my previous life, I would have called myself the sage of the world."
Ceil responded, "Yeah, only fools would call themselves that. Okay, for now, start reading all of this."
Ajax said, "Do I have to read all of this? It will take me an entire week to complete just the reading, not even understanding, mind you," he said with a lazy voice.
Ceil said, "Stop being lazy. You should only read those books. If you don't understand them, that's fine. You don't have to understand them. I will help you understand. I'll create something from it and then make you understand that."
Ajax, hearing Ceil, was happy because he wouldn't want to try to understand all of that. It would have been a headache for him. In his previous world, he failed in math every semester because he didn't want to read it. If Ceil had insisted that Ajax understand all those books, he would have felt like hanging himself from a grass plant. So he said to Ceil, "Yes," and started to read all those books.
As he started to read, his learner ability kicked in. The first two books took him three hours, but because of the learner ability, his reading time for each book reduced to ten minutes. As he finished each book, Ceil orderly arranged them and started creating new magic spells for him. Each time he read, his book reading time decreased to one minute. Books as wide as geography texts and as thick as English dictionaries were read in one minute. He read all the books in less than ten hours.
As he finished all of them, Ceil finished all the modifications and began to adjust them for Ajax's use. Ceil wanted to test it out, so it said to Ajax, who had read all those books in one go and was now resting, "Ajax, I've already finished all the analysis. I want you to test out the spells I've created."
Ajax, shocked to hear that Ceil had finished all the analysis so quickly, thought it must be cheating. Even a gifted person or child couldn't process so much information so fast. He started laughing because, without Ceil, he would have had the same struggles as in his past life. He started laughing and said to Ceil, "So, how many spells did you make? Show them to me."
As he said that, Ceil showed him a panel. There were three spells: Nuclear Fireball, Wind Thunder, and Space Manipulation. Ajax was genuinely shocked to see only three spells. He had read almost half of the books in the library, so he wanted an explanation. He asked Ceil, "What are the other spells you made? Why did you make only three of them? I read almost half of the library."
Ceil answered, "Those books contained a lot about how magic works and the theories of other magics that were useless. So, from analyzing all that, the best-upgraded versions of the real—or you can call them your original—spells were created for your convenience," it said with a proud voice.
Ajax understood what Ceil was saying and accepted it. Even if he had more spells, if they were ineffective on the battlefield, they would be useless. He asked, "Ceil, I understand the first two, but what about the last one? Can you explain it?"
Ceil was ready to explain, "In short, Space Manipulation is a spell that can literally teleport you anywhere you want."
Ajax said, "That's it? I thought it was an attack-type spell."
Ceil replied, "Don't be absurd. Space Manipulation can be used as an attack spell, but it's somewhat complicated because it can be considered another ability of yours."
Ajax said, "Okay, I understand now. Let's see how powerful I am. But where should I test it out?"
As he thought about where to test his spells, he considered an old battlefield. However, there were no creatures there to test the effectiveness of the spells, so he needed a place with lots of low-ranking monsters because he didn't want to take any risks now. While pondering these thoughts, his sister Baillie came to him. He approached her, holding her hands, and said, "Sister, I need you for a while."
Baillie, who had gone outside earlier, came across a bookstore where some boys were rushing in as if they would miss out on something that would make them billionaires. Being fond of her brother, she wanted to check out the store that all the boys were eager to enter. If possible, she wanted to buy that thing for her brother. As she walked into the store, all the boys looked at her, but she didn't care about their looks. She walked into what turned out to be an adult bookstore with many adult books.
