It had been two days since Arlder's punishment and Luck still felt the pain in his legs. He walked across the hallway slowly taking care to not move his leg in any way that would cause him pain but this itself was difficult.
To make things worse the elevator was out of service! He would have to climb 5 stories down, either that or not eat today, obviously he chose to endure the pain for food.
Walking down the first steps was easy enough but on the 3rd floor he was beginning to rethink his decision. He had already gone far though so he could not give up now.
But he needed a break and he needed it now, not too far away from him was a bench right besides a water dispenser.
'This is just far too perfect!' He thought, he walked over to the bench moving a little faster than his normal pace and sat down comfortably.
He gave the dispenser a sideways glance, he wasn't particularly thirsty but why not?
He scooched over to the dispenser and took a cup of water, many people would say water is tasteless but Luck did not believe in that, you see water did have taste and the taste changes based on the quality of water.
'Now this… this water is of great quality!' He thought, taking another swing from the cup and before long his stomach was filled up.
'Darn it, I've done it again!' He thought staring at his bloated stomach.
'I was now full. This will hinder my movement and put more load on my already tired legs!'
He looked out the window and luckily for him it was still evening. He just needed to rest for about 30 minutes and he would be good to go!
But not everything goes as planned.
As Luck stared at the water dispenser longingly, wondering if he should risk another cup, someone sat next to him on the bench and let out a long dragged sigh.
Next to him was a girl about his age, her chin was buried in her hands while she stared into space.
She had dark brown hair which flowed from her head down to her slender shoulders, her eyes were a deep blue among a myriad of other colours that seemed to be darkened by worry and her face was a single blemish, a mole that dotted right below her left eye.
She was pretty, and had a certain charm that would probably make a lot of guys instantly interested in her.
But right now luck was busy, it was getting to the 30 minute mark and when it did he would be back on his journey.
From what Luck was told only the special class students stayed in the 5th floor and above leaving the rest of the building for the other classes, this girl was probably a student in the regular class.
She whipped out her phone and began frantically typing before letting out another long prolonged sigh.
"Ughhhhhhh." She moaned, leaning into Luck. But he remained stoic, turning his attention back to the dispenser.
"You're supposed to ask me what is wrong." She complained, folding her arms around her chest and pouting.
"I'm kind of in the middle of something right now."
"Please in need your help!"
"And you are?"
"Excuse my manners." She got up from her seat and stood in front of Luck. "I'm Emilie, current class representative of the first years and you?"
"I'm trying to digest water."
"I mean your name!"
Luck obviously knew what she meant but giving her his name would create some sort of familiarity between them which would eventually lead to her asking for his help.
But what choice did he have? Underneath her outgoing personality he could tell that she was actually worried, then again he did have an appointment– with dinner.
Luck looked in the direction of the stairs longingly, he couldn't miss dinner even if it meant ignoring the girl in front of him!
But then again, maybe it would be something brief like filling out a petition or something, Luck realized that he hadn't even thought of the possibility of that happening.
'I better find out then.'
"I'm Luck."
"Luck? I haven't heard that name before, I assumed you were a member of the special class but I haven't heard of any student in the special class named Luck."
"I'm new." Luck said, keeping his answer brief.
"Oh that makes sense, anyways like I said before I need your help!"
"My help is limited, what do you need my help with?"
"My cat is missing!"
"No, Absolutely not"
Her face contorted in shock, as she stared at him. He would have gladly helped her out if it was something that didn't need much work like voting for her in a pageantry or maybe filling out a petition.
But finding a cat?! That would take far too long and would be far more stressful!
If he decided to help her out, by the time they were through it would already be too late to get dinner plus he would probably be too exhausted to walk that far.
"Why?!" She cried.
"Like I said before my help is-." His stomach rumbled, interrupting what he was about to say.
'Dude really right now?!'
Emilie stepped back a knowing smile on her face as everything clicked in her head.
"Where you going out to get dinner?"
She had caught on but that wouldn't change anything, he would look selfish for not offering her help because he was hungry but at this point he didn't care. He steeled his expression.
"Yes, and it's about time I left." If she didn't find the cat by the time he came back then he would help her out.
"What if I cook you dinner?!"
'Huh?'
Luck had no reservations against eating from complete strangers so this was not exactly a completely bad suggestion.
'Plus this is technically home cooked food right?!'
If he helped her find her cat, she would cook him dinner which means he wouldn't have to go all the way to the restaurant, and would finally be able to confirm if there was actually anything special about home cooked food.
"Hmmm, I'll help you!"
