The cat had charcoal black fur with white highlights around its body and on the tip of one ear, the eyes were a vivid light green and they glinted with an unnatural intelligence.
But its appearance was not Luck's primary concern now, he was still trying to wrap his head around what he had heard but the cat was not giving him any time to process his thoughts.
It dashed right past Emilie and went straight out the door.
"He's escaping!" Emilie screamed as she gave chase.
Luck couldn't stand there and watch the cat escape, especially since that very cat was the key to his dinner that night!
The faster he caught the cat the faster he would get to eat.
'Talking cat or not you're not going to cost me my dinner!"
Luck chased after the cat ignoring about the pain in his legs as he hurried down the stairs and right past Emilie.
"You're slow a houman," the cat giggled as it ran.
"Spark! Stop running!" Emilie screamed but the cat ignored her even increasing its pace and giggling the more.
The cat was faster than Luck expected, it's nimble body moving at an incredibly fast pace while it ran down the stair railings. Not once did it slip during any of the turns.
'She was not joking when she said it was nimble.'
Luck reached for the cat once he finally got close enough but the cat managed to jump above his reaching hands and on to the wall running along the wall for sometime before jumping back to the ground.
"That doesn't look normal," Luck said, turning to Emilie who was racing behind him.
She just gave a nervous smile in response.
"I'll stop running if you manage to touch me!" The cat said hopping back onto the railings.
Normally this would have been easy for Luck but his legs were still hurting and he didn't want to worsen it in any way so he tried to maintain a reasonable speed, if he was lucky the cat would tire out.
When they got to the 4th floor the cat had not still slowed down, it even seemed to be as energetic as when it started running. It hopped off the stairs and into the hallway.
Not far from them Layla stood in front of a window watching the building on the ground floor.
She was in a simple shirt and joggers and seemed to just be arriving because in her left hand was a plastic bag of groceries.
"Layla!" Luck screamed.
She immediately noticed the cat and swiped it off the ground holding it in place.
The cat didn't struggle, it just reminded in her arms watching them with devious eyes.
"Why are you chasing a cat?" Layla asked, looking a little confused.
"She asked for my help, Luck pointed to Emilie who was now catching her breath.
"And you couldn't catch a cat?"
"That is not a normal cat." Luck answered.
Layla turned the cat to face her, the cat cocked its head cutely and meowed.
"It looks normal to me."
"Thank you for helping me catch him,"
Emilie interrupted and Layla handed the cat over to her.
"I have something to do so I'll be going now." She said and went up the staircase that led to the 5th floor.
"Why did you leave the room Spark?" Emilie asked the mischievous cat
"I went exploring and got soaked!"
"So you went to the roof to dry off?"
"Mmhmm."
"I guess you were right Luck, thank you for your help. I guess it's time I fulfilled on my end of the bargain."
"My room is just down the hall, let's go." She said holding Luck's hand and leading him towards her room.
'Heh? Your room?'
He was so distracted by the mention of home food that he didn't even stop to realize what it meant.
I will be entering a girls room! What was I thinking? That I would get the food delivered to my door or what?'
He didn't have any reservations against entering but it would be the first time he ever did and that made him anxious… just a little bit.

Layla was about to enter her room, her key was already out and she was holding the shopping bag in her teeth shuffling through the keys when her eyes caught something in the bag.
'I was supposed to give this to him.' She thought, looking at the phone she had in the grocery bag.
Arlder met her while she was done shopping and she saw it as a good opportunity to mention Luck's phone issue.
Because he didn't have a phone he would always miss important updates about class, that was why he even came to class on their free day one time.
Her and Arlder picked out a phone for him and she was meant to deliver it to him today.
'I forgot because of the whole cat issue.'
She hurried down to the 4th floor to look for Luck but instead what she saw left her very confused.
She saw him enter a room with the girl he was helping to catch her cat.
She knew for sure that that was not Luck's room since all special class students stay in floor 5 and above.
'What is he doing in her room?' She wondered.
As she watched them enter the room her face did little to mirror what she actually felt. She was not particularly angry or anything Luck could visit whoever he wanted to visit.
Whatever he was up to was his business and she didn't care.
Her hand grip on the bag tightened then she turned around and left.
'I'll give him another day.'

Emilie's room was a nice and comfy room just at the end of the hall. Luck didn't consider himself to be dirty but he had a bad habit of living things around which more often than not made his room look a 'little' messy (he's definitely not being biased about his room).
Emilie on the other had everything neatly arranged, there was no single cloth hanging on the chair or bed and the room was properly swept.
Her room was very similar to Luck's room in terms of space, an apartment that had room for bed space as well as a kitchen area.
She had a small couch close to her bed which was where Luck sat while she went to change in the bathroom. While the annoying cat was lying on her bed, feet spread out wide as if it was dead.
It didn't take long for Emilie to change, she came out dressed in a loose fitting tank top and shorts that went down to her mid thigh.
When she came out of the bathroom she walked straight into the kitchen and stretched until she was satisfied with all the popping sounds she had heard and let out a satisfied sigh.
"I really hope you're hungry Luck!" She said, picking up her spatula.
