Chapter 29 - Chapter twenty nine

Isabell, What are you doing? Call for help!" Wilson's shout yanked her body back to the present. Her head shook, she looked at her phone and turned towards him but she didn't see Wilson but Sebastian right in front of her, staring at her with the same expressions as hers

"I'm- I am okay" Isabell never saw him coming towards her and now he was standing by her side,

"Sebastian," she said, her worried eyes looking softly at him. She didn't respond to him instead she moved her trembling hand to his ear

"It's fine. It's just a scratch" he breathed heavily, trying to keep his expression in place

"Scratch?" her tensed voice appeared sharp and loud "Blood- there is blood all over your hand, your ear is bleeding. We" Her eyes looked around searching for something and then they landed at her own hands "We need to get help, we need to- we do" Her fingers quivered unlocking the phone again, she clenched the phone hard and jolted her fingers but they didn't stop shivering "I'm really okay," he said taking her phone out of her hand shaking hands and her they failed to resist, her eyes stared at her empty hands "No-no you are not- not okay" Her head moved side by side. Her heart was still beating in her ears. Isabell gazed at the table, she moved to it and piled every tissue she could find, and placed it over his ear

"Isabell, I am–" a shout from the around interrupted him

"Can you stop acting cool for a second stop, Seb?" Wilson yelled in annoyance, Isabell nodded, agreeing with him and staring at Sebastian,

"Will you stop overreacting?" Wrath replaced warmth as Sebastian's eyes shifted to Wilson from Isabell and he didn't say a word but looked at him

"Please, Sebastian. Can we get it checked?" She said slowly, his gaze shifted to her again, softened after looking at her anxious eyes "Isabell" he placed his hand over her shoulder, bent himself down "a bandage will be enough" Isabell bit her sealed lips, stopping the tears that were barely managing to stay in her eyes, her head moved towards Wilson.

"Do you- do you have a first--" she stopped looking at Wilson already holding a first aid kit running to them now "Here you go" he passed it to Isabell, and she looked at him, stared at him "Don't be impressed by me yet, Angel. I know how he is" Sebastian ignored him this time and she moved her face up and down

"Sit down" she ordered. For a moment Sebastian just looked at her. He tried to hold his smile at her order and he listened. Isabell opened the kit, her hands were still shivering but she managed to get a hold of them

"This bandage is way too large for a—" Isabell hissed loudly stopping his words from coming out "I swear if you say one more word, Sebastian. I'm going to chop the entire ear off" She threatened with a furious stare, her threat worked when he shut his lips. Sebastian stayed silent and peeked at her while Isabell dressed his wounds,

"When I am done, you are heading straight to your home" She put the antiseptic over his ear. "I am fine," he said, she didn't say a word of her mouth and her mind was the only one talking

No, Sebastian, you are not fine. No one in this world doesn't blink an eye while the antiseptic is applied over the wound. I know it itches so damn much. You are not okay, I don't want you to feel pain either but I want you to look like a normal person, to feel like a normal person, I want you to be an okay person

"Do you understand?" She ignored his words and spoke "After dropping you," he said, not looking at her now "I can drive home by myself"

"You are not in the condition to drive, Isabell," he said,

"Can you not listen to me for once?" Isabell pressed the bandage hard, but he never reacted to it "Not Right now" she frowned at his reply "Suit yourself, Mr. Bastarian" she said finishing the dressing with a hard press, and again he didn't react

"You fine, Seb?" Wilson asked walking towards them and holding a glass of water "I am Fine" he replied and took the offered glass "You got quite a lot of people like me around you" Wilson laughed at his incompleted joke, Sebastian raised brows already knowing the rest "Like who sometimes wants to kill you or something" he cracked over his own words and looked at Isabell to join him "Do you think it's funny, Wilson?" She asked, her voice was piercing. Isabell never told Wilson that she was on his team

"No, No it was just-just joking" he laughed again, awkwardly "I- I am sorry, I was just trying to lose some tension" his teeth went in, Isabell tried not to roll her eyes at him and barely nodded accepting his apology "By the way, Seb, do you know who could have hired the sniper to shoot you?" Wilson questioned moving towards him. Sebastian exchanged a glance with Isabell "I have no clue" The concern over Isabell's face deepened and bent down sadly,

For a moment she forgot about it but now the words echoed in her brain

You need to stop with this Isabell or next time it will be his head

"So you gotta file an assassination–" Wilson paused at the dead stare coming from Isabell, he cleared his throat "I mean this whole bullet out of the blue at the earthing" he explained and looked at Isabell only making her roll their eyes at him "Idiot" she murmured under her breath "You're getting too informal, Pretty girl. Remember? I am your elder" he frowned. "All formalities dropped down to the bottom" and she moved her face along with her eyes this time. Wilson looked at Sebastian for some defense but he just mocked a laughter looking proud at her response

"Yeah, so where were we?" Wilson clapped and the two of them made him feel like he was talking to himself "Yeah so, Report- you need to file a report"

"Yeah, I will" Sebastian replied finally and his anxiety shed when he laughed

"We will be leaving now," Sebastian said standing from the chair, he gestured from hand to Isabell and she was already ready to leave

"Okay, take care of yourself, Man" Wilson patted a stiff hand on his arm "You too" he replied

"Thank you for today, Wilson" Isabell said while smiling, a bare smile and a bare gratitude "My pleasure, Pretty girl," he said grinning wider, enough to make his eyes disappear under his cheeks,

"I hope you–except for that thing" Wilson pointed somewhere in the air "Had a good time here"

"It was amazing" she smiled

"I'll be waiting for your next visit, Pretty girl," he said, Isabell nodded, but Sebastian didn't

"Goodbye, Wilson" She waved at him and he waved back

"Goodbye, Dear"

They took the stairs down towards the parked car. "Is there any chance you would allow me to drive today?" She jumped on the last step down, lightly

"Don't you already know the answer?" he asked stopping at the car, the keys spinning on his finger

"Of course, I do" She replied rolling her eyes at him as Sebastian took the driver's seat

"Maybe someday in the future there will be a day when Sebastian will listen to Isabell" she pulled the door to the front seat "I sincerely hope for vice versa" he sneered and Isabell ground her teeth. Wilson stood on the top of the building, staring at them

The moon walked with her outside of the window just above her head. The speed at which he drives usually drives her crazy but right now she didn't hate it. The moon looked pretty and all she wanted was to breathe and look at its beauty. Isabell was just about to win this race with it when the moon suddenly stopped.

She looked at Sebastian and before she could ask anything he talked first

"Wait here, I'll be back in a minute" he opened the door "Where are you g…." he was gone

going?

She completed her words anyway. Isabell was alone all over again, she looked around the car but there was nothing to stare at but dark. Her phone was still in her hand and it was unlocked. Isabell stared at the same messages again and again. She locked it again and put it on the dashboard

After exactly sixty-five seconds on the fingers of Isabell, Sebastian was back. And everything just vanished when she saw a carton of juice in his hand

Sebastian walked to the trunk of the car and placed it in there and after twenty more seconds he was back again on the left side of her

"What was that?" she asked, half happy and half amazed knowing exactly what that was

"Your cranberry juice," he started the engine and for an entire minute she stared at him in shock

"So that accident of you buying an entire carton of cranberry juice was supposed to happen in the future?" Her face was surprised, and her mind too as if she hadn't already imagined

twenty-nine reasons why Sebastian invited me to the cafe.

"It was a good anticipation. Wasn't it?" He asked with a wink "Umm...yeah" She was Confused, impressed, and happy, and then she smiled

"It was" he glimpsed at her

It was all silent again. The moon was still spectacular but her heart had been startled and she couldn't focus on staring at it, so she started to stare at her phone instead of helping it made her smile fade away and she darted at Sebastian

"Yeah?" he asked without looking at her, she stayed silent and stayed staring

"Do you want to say something?" His eyes stayed on the road

"Are you okay?"

"I told you. I am fine" he said, laughing "Does it hurt?" She ignored his answer and her face was gloomy

"You know me, Isabell" his gaze traveling to her eyes. Do you think a scratch can hurt me?"

"I know you and I know you won't say it hurts even if it freaks the hell out," she said, his lips appeared a smile and he went silent. Isabell's eyes were angry and they wandered again and once again they paused at her phone

"Sebastian, Do you think we should stop?" his eyes stretched until they stopped at "Stop?" He asked "Everything we are doing" She never looked at him

"Are you the one saying that?" he asked, his voice shocked. Isabell sat up, her fingers knocked at the sides of her phone on the dashboard "I don't know. To be honest, I'm not sure about it now. It was okay, everything was okay until we were finding clues and connecting stings but it's getting dangerous with every step we go closer to them"

"Tell me you never think about this happening," he said already knowing how many possible risks Isabell had imagined every day since she started, her hand stopped

"I have" she admitted "But it was fine until I was alone," she said quietly

"You are not alone anymore" Her fingers moved in rounds now, anxiously

"This is not- not a hope. I can't put you in danger" Her fingers froze at their place when she felt his hand moving across her arm and then to her palm. Sebastian captured her dancing fingers from the board and imprisoned them with his. The moment her heart suddenly lost the rhythm, her eyes closed, and was abnormally calm. "I'm ready to take any danger that can possibly hurt you" She lost everything control over her mind and no thoughts were coming to her head now, it was all blank. She opened her eyes, and all she could see in this moment was Sebastian and his hands on her

"Isabell" he called, She couldn't say a word

"Isabell" he called, she slightly moved her head up and down. Her gazes were glued to the veiny hand, she fell in love with at first sight

"Thank you," Sebastian said, his thumb tracing the length of her hand, she could feel the heat by the touch and involuntarily she tightened the grip

"Thank you, Isabell," he repeated, "For what?" She said, barely speaking. "For everything" Her face moved towards him, and he smiled and gazed at her softly before placing his eyes back on the road. "Everything?" She didn't remember asking it because she wasn't listening or speaking but looking at him in his unusual and perfectly fitted navy blue shirt and his arms driving carefully with one hand while the other was carelessly ruining her breaths

"Everything you have done," she wanted to ask what but when his fingers parted away from her she didn't ask "Everything you have done" and then they wrapped tighter than ever and her stomach kicked, her brain dazzling with dopamine

She stared at the hand, stared at him, and then again at the thumb moving in circles on the back of her hand which looked prettier than the pretty moon and her eyes stayed at it for the rest of the time

"Sebastian" she called as the car stopped at the door of her house,

"Yes"

"Should we like give it one more thought, about counting this or not?" both of them never moved out of the car "We are closer than ever and I can't let all the work you have done in an entire year go to waste"

"Yes, But, Sebastian we…" her mouth stopped saying words when Sebastian unwinded the fingers

"But, Isabell. We will finish this" he said and moved to open the door and in a blink, he was already at the other edge holding the door for Isabell

Isabell gazed at him, still in the car

"We can fight this," he said

"Maybe," she stepped out and he closed the door

"I'm going to file a report about this incident and since we have a lot of things backing us including two major identities we'll adjust things on crafting a report against Throne Of Demon soon," Sebastian said

"Yeah maybe we can start it tonight" The disappearing sound of Isabell reappeared in an excited tone and he smiled at how eager she was with her report. She probably didn't remember saying anything about quitting everything minutes ago

"Or maybe after you can get sleep and take care of growing wrinkles all over your face, Granny" The word was unbelievably offensive and Isabell's jaw-dropped mouth exactly felt that

"What the heck did you just say, Senior Citizen" Sebastian had the same reaction "That's abusive, I'm just three years older than you" Isabell's face filled with satisfaction

"Three years OLD, Ancient Individual" his step fell back "How can you come up with this many obnoxious nicknames?" Isabell threw a smile at him, a wide smile "I must respect my seniors, Elderly gentleman" he couldn't manage to get more surprise on his already more surprised face "You deserve an Oscar for annoying people in the most creative ways" Isabell's fingers pinch the sides of her dress, "My pleasure, Mr. Marshmallow" She stretched the pinched corners and bow slightly to him "No, we are not doing this, Isabell" he said in a stiff tone "I'm sorry to bother you, Mr. Marshmallow" her voice stayed same, mockingly gentle

"Oh, I can not believe this girl" he laughed in surprise and she blinked her eyes a couple of times

"Go inside," he said, unknowingly smiling

"I'll leave, Mr. Marshmallow" he hissed in annoyance "I wish you a safe journey home" She bowed her head lower this time and Sebastian laughed again

"Go," he said

"Going" Isabell moved back still facing him "Go" he repeated on her small steps back "Going" and she turned around

And in a second she spun again

"Sebastian," she called, he looked at her

"You are perfect" Isabell's voice was warm almost as if it couldn't hold the amount of joy in it. This was the first time she said it out loud "Huh?" He asked, confused

"Everything about you is perfect" he didn't reply but stared at her

"Thank for for today, thank you for accidentally planning this accident, thank you for taking me out" She smiled brightly and both of them got lost in each other's eyes
