Lilith gave the signal, and the Bloodwing Drak began to descend, gliding lower as it continued deeper into the forest. The disciples remained quiet, their earlier fear replaced by a mixture of awe and exhaustion.
Damien glanced at Zander, who was still staring wide-eyed at the forest below.
"You alright?" Damien asked, nudging him lightly.
Zander blinked, as if snapping out of a daze. "Yeah... yeah, I'm good. Just didn't expect 'that'."
"None of us did," Damien replied, a small smirk forming on his lips. "But we're alive, and that's what matters."
Zander chuckled weakly. "Guess so."
The Drak flew on, the forest growing darker and more ominous as they ventured further in. The air felt heavier here, thick with the scent of damp earth. Damien still kept his guard up as they advanced, his hand resting on Nightshade as his eyes scanned the trees below.
