Chereads / Red Moon (He Is Mine) / Chapter 13 - Who is Arthur?

Chapter 13 - Who is Arthur?

After breakfast, they set off. Shane and Arthur were already sitting in the passenger seat. Shane looked out the window to see how to get out of the yard. He rounded his eyes, because it was only a matter of time before the car passed through the big black gate he had seen. Entering the forest area that at night looked terrible and had a had a very tense atmosphere, it was not at all when he passed this morning.

The shady green trees and the sunlight that broke through from between the trees that were not so dense looked very beautiful. Shane was again surprised when the car passed houses that looked like old houses. However, every house he passed looked so calm and comfortable to live in. The front yard also looked so cool and fresh because there were shady trees.

"Where is this?" Shane asked himself. Really, how could he pass this when he remembered that night, when he was being chased by debt collectors, there was not a single house he passed? He entered the dark and tense forest.

He ran into a forest, and when he went into the forest, there was not a single house. But what is this? Why were there so many houses and people doing activities in front of their houses? Really, what is this? He couldn't think logically. He was sure of his memory of that night. He had been desperate to hide in people's houses, but he didn't find any houses at all.

But why did he see these houses this morning? How could there be houses near the forest and even in the forest area? He was sure that the car had not left the forest area. Shane now looked at Arthur, who was just staring silently ahead.

He looked at Arthur for so long because he wondered who Arthur really was. Because for him, the forest Arthur lived in held many questions. In addition to Arthur's changeable eyeballs and the speed of Arthur's movements, which often raised questions in his brain, now it was the turn of the area where Arthur lived that made him ask a lot of questions.

"What's wrong?" asked Arthur as he looked at Shane.

"Nothing," Shane replied, and he returned his gaze to the street.

Shane wanted to ask, but he was too proud. He didn't want Arthur to think he cared about him if he asked something like that. So he didn't want to do that at all. He didn't want to give Arthur the confidence to know he was curious about Arthur.

The car continued to drive until the car was out of the forest. There was no mistake, that was the forest he had entered. He could even see a dangerous sign—a forbidden forest. However, how could Arthur live in such a dangerous forest? Was the dangerous sign just to trick people? So that people don't live in the forest area. Even looking at those houses, Shane wanted to live there. Really, the houses were quite comfortable to live in. It was like a rural atmosphere—an atmosphere he couldn't see anymore in the urban environment where he lived.

The car continued to drive until it entered the urban area, where tall buildings now loomed. Ah, usually at this hour he was working at a café, so he couldn't see these tall buildings. In the morning, he worked at the cafe, and at night, he would work at the bar. Sometimes he also delivers food at fast-food restaurants. Because he was always being chased by debt collectors, he had many places to work. It could be said that the bar where he worked before was his regular workplace.

Shane looked at the tall buildings with a gaze that was hard to decipher. Either he was amazed by the buildings or touched to be able to see the skyscrapers casually. Usually, at this hour, he had already started working without being able to enjoy buildings like this. His life is only focused on working and continuing to work. Without seeing the time to continue working. He comes home from work at eleven at night and even at one in the morning, and by five in the morning, he has to be ready to go to work. Sometimes he would deliver the morning paper or pick up food for restaurants that were usually delivered early in the morning.

Shane just kept looking at the street, while Arthur looked at Shane, who was only focused on the street. There was no smile, just him looking at Shane. The car entered the high mountain area where Shane's office was located.

The car had stopped in front of the office lobby. Arthur got out first when the car door was opened. Shane had also gotten out of the car. Shamelessly, Arthur put his arm around Shane's waist.

"Let go! Are you out of your mind, acting like this?" Shane asked, staring at Arthur with a restrained voice because there was no way he could raise his voice. He didn't want to be the talk of Arthur's employees at the office. If they were at home, it would be different. So, it wouldn't matter if he was angry at Arthur.

"Come on in," Arthur invited without answering Shane's question.

Whether Shane liked it or not, he walked with Arthur's arm around his waist. He didn't want to make a scene. If he were at home, he would have tried to get away, but here he didn't want to be talked about by Arthur's employees, and he also didn't want Arthur to be talked about later.

After all, Arthur had saved him from the wolves in the forest, allowed him to stay in the mansion, and even paid off his debts, even though he didn't know if it was true or not. He was always at the mansion, not knowing if the debt collectors were no longer looking for him. What was certain was that he had to maintain Arthur's honor in front of his employees by not doing anything that would make Arthur a topic of conversation.

His steps suddenly had to stop because Arthur stopped him. Shane turned to look at Arthur. From the side, Arthur's dominant and cold aura was very visible. "You're disgusting!" Arthur said, and his head moved to stare at the employees in the office lobby area.

"How good of you to insult me and mine?" he asked with a sharp look in his eyes. His tone was cold, and Shane could feel it.

Shane looked over at Arthur to see that the employees now had their heads down. "Don't think I don't know what's in your little brains. Saying disgusting things to my partner. Who the hell do you think you are, huh?" Arthur raged, and in a flash, Arthur was already standing next to the receptionist, until the receptionist was so shocked that, without being able to say anything, she was already suffocating, and her body was raised high.

Arthur's eyes turned red, and his jaw hardened. Shane, who saw this, immediately ran over to Arthur. "No, what did Arthur do? This could ruin Arthur's reputation," Shane said to himself as he continued to run towards Arthur.

Without Shane realizing that everyone there had stopped moving, even the clock had stopped moving. Only Arthur was still moving, he turned to Shane, who was holding his waist. Arthur's subordinate confidant could only be surprised that his power had no effect on Shane. He deliberately stopped time so that the people there would not think all of Arthur's actions were reality. When time resumed, they only saw Arthur in his place.

"Who is he really?" asked Frederick as he looked at Shane.
