Chapter 2 - Chap. 2 - The beginning of the adventure at Fukuro High School [1]

I opened my eyes slowly, the sunlight starting to caress my face. I stood up slowly and rubbed my head.

There were still traces of yesterday's meal on me, apparently I had fallen asleep.

I sat for a moment, then showered and had breakfast. I knew it wasn't time to relax because the sun was already shining brightly.

Instead, I was grateful for it, being able to see the sun again.

Then I walked to school, and upon arriving, I saw the students lining up at the school gate.

I remembered yesterday's incident; there was no choice but to take the back route.

As I walked towards the back, I didn't expect the wall to be so high. So, that's why they were only in front.

To me, it didn't matter. Even if it were the Great Wall of China blocking my path.

Here, I decided to jump, but I didn't expect someone else to jump too.

We collided, luckily falling inside.

"Get up, you jerk," he said flatly.

I stood up slowly, wiping my pants and shirt. "Are you not hurt?" I asked. "...I'm trying to leave. I don't have money for your treatment, anyway."

His facial muscles tensed. "Ha?.. You think I'm so weak that I need treatment, jerk!" His flat face instantly turned angry.

"... Oh, thank goodness then."

I didn't care, especially about dealing with them.

Then I walked to class, and I saw him following me. I thought, 'Is he seeking revenge?'

I quickened my pace, not wanting to lose, but he also sped up. It seemed I had to increase my speed even more. I didn't expect him to still keep up.

Finally, we both started running.

I tried to shake him off with a little trick, but it seemed unsuccessful. The more I saw, the closer he got.

Everyone saw us both running; I saw my classroom in front of me.

Then I went straight into class, panting heavily and sweating profusely. I walked to my seat and sat down slowly.

I heard heavy breathing from beside me.

When I looked to the side, it was the guy from earlier. Our eyes met briefly before turning away.

"So he's my seatmate. I thought he wanted revenge, that's why I ran," I thought to myself.

While I was running earlier, it turned out there was a group from Rey. He reported to Rey what I did.

The bell rang, accompanied by our class teacher entering. Yesterday, I learned a few things about her.

First, her name is Ms. Celsi; second, she's a history teacher; third, all students call her Angel. I didn't know what the last one meant.

Ms. Celsi began the lesson, teaching with joy, her face looked sincere.

Different from when she was in the auditorium, she looked pale and scared then.

I enjoyed her class, even though I couldn't hear what she was saying. But it sounded like music to me. Is that talent?

In the middle of the lesson, someone knocked on the door. Ms. Celsi approached and opened it.

It turned out to be Rey behind the door, not alone as he brought his gang to surround our class.

Ms. Celsi immediately retreated to the window, while the other students gathered in the corner. Only I and this guy remained silent.

Rey started to enter, along with his gang. Maybe around 280 people. So now I knew.

"Which ones are they?" Rey shouted loudly.

One of them looked at us, pointing at us, "those two who are still sitting."

Rey stared at us.

"You two, come here!"

Rey called us, but only I cared. He was asleep with a book on his face and his feet on the chair.

I wondered whether to leave or stay silent.

My mind became confused, maybe I should just go there.

As I tried to stand up, I was pushed backward and hit the wall, making it crack.

For me, it didn't hurt. I saw Rey in front of my chair, clenching his fists. So he was the one who hit me.

Rey's gang members looked pleased, laughing at me. But not Rey; he was silent. I thought he would humiliate me.

At that moment, Rey's hands trembled. He lowered his gaze. He was suppressing pain.

Rey lifted his head, looking at me seriously.

Rey held his hand and shouted, "Th-that's the consequence of not listening to your senior."

I knew from his accent, he was trying to be brave in front of his gang.

Standing up and dusting off my clothes, I wanted to know what he would do now.

Rey didn't dare to look me in the eye, and he turned to him. I didn't know his name.

Rey threw a punch at his face, the same punch he used on me.

Rey's punch was about to hit his face, but the book on his face cushioned the blow.

He opened his eyes, seeing Rey's punch, he quickly retaliated. Rey's punch hadn't landed yet, and his punch was already on Rey's face.

"Do you think you've won?"

Rey was thrown through another classroom wall; it was my punch. Of course, Rey was my gang leader, I wouldn't let anyone else touch him.

Rey's gang fell silent, creating a silence.

He also widened his eyes.

He stood up and looked at me, we stared at each other for a moment. He seemed curious. His mouth began to open to say something.

I cut him off, "Your reflexes are quick, but unfortunately, you're slow." I tried to provoke him.

I didn't know what was on this guy's mind.

"I'm Hayden..."

His face now seemed a bit brighter, or maybe it was just my feeling.

"I'm Tomoe," I felt connected with Hayden.

Rey's gang started to get ready; I knew from the beginning that Rey wasn't the strongest among them.

I headed for the window and opened it; Hayden followed me. It seemed he really knew my plan.

They ran towards us. I jumped out of the window; we were on the second floor. Hayden followed me.

Hayden and I landed safely; I knew the second floor wasn't a big deal. The two of us ran towards the gate.

The gate was closed, and it was guarded by security. I glanced around and saw a sea of people surrounding us.

They looked confident, "Where do you want to run?" Then they smiled, "Let's beat them!!!" They ran towards us.

"Shall we?"

"Of course," Hayden and I didn't want to lose; we also ran towards them.

I jumped into the middle of the crowd, landing on one of their heads. And I kicked, knocking down several people.

I kept beating them, using my left hand to punch. They used weapons, but it wasn't difficult to beat them.

It had been 2 minutes since we started fighting; it seemed only 80 people had fallen. I tried to look for Hayden, but I didn't see him anywhere.

I saw other teachers and students watching from their classes; they didn't dare to interfere. No one even took the initiative to call the police.

But it actually worked in our favor because that way, we could beat the kids freely.

Time continued to pass, and it had been 6 minutes. This was the last opponent. I kicked his head like kicking a ball, knocking him out.

And the last ones were two people who were thrown from behind next to me. I looked back and saw Hayden, who was also done.

The two of us successfully defeated around 200 members of Rey.

We stood among the piles of people, without fatigue or wounds, only dirty clothes.
