Chapter 1 - Chapter 1

"How long will you be gone?" Yuna asked with her eyes pleading desperately. She had really hoped that at least her mom would stay.

"I'm not sure. Maybe a few weeks or months depending on how it is there" her mom replied while packing the remains of her luggage.

"Do you have to go, isn't dad already there?" She whinned

"(Sigh) I thought we've already talked about this. The situation there is quite critical and they require a few medical hands, so I volunteered myself"

"Why?" She began to through a whim.

Though this wasn't the first time her parents had to leave her all by herself. Being medical practitioners the nature of their jobs required them to be at work almost all the time and she was used to it, but this would be the first time her parents would leave her alone for soo long.

Heaving another sigh, her mom shut the zip of her suitcase placing them where the others were at the corner of the room. She walked over to her daughter and caressed her cheeks with her fingers. "I promise you that when the situation there eases up a bit I and your dad will come right back. Okay?" Disappointed Yuna could only accept nodding helplessly.

Why? Why did they have to do this to her all the time?

Just then a phone call went through her mom's phone. She picked it up "Hello...yes...okay...I'll be there in maybe..." She trailed off moving to the corridor for a quite place to talk.

Yuna Stared at the already packed suitcases. It reminded her of when they first moved into the house a few years ago. It was raining, her parents had to attend to an emergency case leaving her alone in the big and empty house with no one else but the old housekeeper.

"We'll be back very soon I promise" her mom promised before grabbing her bag and heading out with an umbrella.

"Liar" Yuna uttered as those memories came flooding in.

Her mom had finished with her call and she came back into the room.

"Why don't you help me with these suitcases? Mmm?"

"Hmm" They both carried a suitcase and a bag each as they made their way down to the living room.

"Oh, I almost forgot" Her mom palmed herself on the head "...the new housekeeper will be staying with you up until we come back, alright. So make arrangements for her in the third bedroom, okay?" Her mom requested

"What?" Yuna Had no idea of this, a live in housekeeper? "Mom, I'm not a kid anymore, we don't need a housekeeper, I can handle myself pretty well. Besides, I'm used to being alone" she said trailing off at the last sentence just to sound a bit pathetic.

"I know you can handle yourself, but who will take care of the house? You can barely keep your own room tidy so how are you going to take care of the whole house? Mmm?" Her mom lectured.

"But mom–"

"No buts..." Her mom ordered.

Feeling frustrated, Yuna ran up to her room, in anger she shut the door making a loud bang.

"(Sigh) She will never learn" her mom shook her head.
