Chapter 11 - Rejected

CHAPTER 11

Storm who had taken a sip of his drink when Kent asked Raven out couldn't believe his ears and spat out his drink, coughing loudly.

"Kill him," Silver urged.

Storm did his best to quiet his wolf, ignoring the stares he got. Similarly, Raven felt her mind swell from Storm's situation. Sipping her drink to hide the victorious smirk on her lips, she responded, "Interesting."

Kent continued his pursuit, taking a step forward while holding Raven's stare. "Yes, darling, I want you to become my girl. Be mine."

Storm's blood boiled. Silver thrashed about, growling and howling for Raven's response.

"Well?"

Raven's expression was blank, her mind on what Storm's next move would be if she answered positively.

'What do I say? I feel like ticking him off badly.' Raven thought.

"Tsk. He's an idiot. He should claim you."

"Tori, no. If I agree, that will teach Storm a lesson."

"He's our mate," Tori argued.

"Do you agree, Asteria?" Storm scoffed, side-eyeing Kent. "Be mine."

As much as teaching Storm a lesson would feel good, Raven did not wish to date a man she did not have feelings for.

Raven flashed her killer smile. "It takes more than that to date someone but hold that thought, I'll be back."

"Going somewhere?" Kent rushed out, scared he must have chased her off.

"To powder my nose."

Kent nodded, watching her disappear. Storm who had watched them like a hawk was about to follow when Kent's hand blocked his path.

A dark glint flashed in Storm's eyes as he let his aura seep out.

"Mind your own business," Storm replied, pushing Kent's hand away and going in the direction Raven disappeared.

Storm waited at the intersection to the ladies' restroom, away from the public eye.

As soon as Raven walked out, he grabbed her wrist and pulled her with him, pushing her body against the wall.

"W-what do you think you're doing, Alpha Storm?" Raven's heart raced. Tori purred happily.

Storm's gaze burned into hers while Silver chanted, "claim, claim, claim" in his head.

"What's your answer?"

Raven arched her brow. "Care to elaborate?"

"Don't feign ignorance with me. Are you going to accept him?"

A mischievous smile curled her lips. "Why? What's it to you?"

Storm growled, leaning closer to her. "You're my mate."

A sickening soff left her lips. "Mate? The whore you dissed? You lost that right."

"So you're going to throw yourself at any man just to spite me?"

Her eyes burned with fury. "Don't kid yourself. You aren't worth me giving a damn about."

Storm snarled, his chest rising. "Don't... Don't dare me, Raven."

"Or what?"

He hissed. He was an Alpha King. No one in their life had dared speak to him that way.

Finding his voice, he continued, "I've been watching you, flirting with men all night. Do you think I'm going to sit around and watch?"

Raven's mouth gaped. She pushed Storm back. "Excuse me?" He didn't budge, rather, he pressed his body on hers, cementing her to the wall.

"Don't play stupid, Raven. I had my eyes on you the whole time. You welcomed it. And the way Kent flirted with you, asking you out..." he drawled, as though the thought burned a bitter memory in his head and he shut his eyes.

Storm resisted the urge to growl loudly, making all males keep off. When he reopened them, they glowed a bright red for a moment, regaining their crystal blue.

"Did you forget the mark on your neck?" His velvety deep voice made her wallow. His eyes darkened with desire and possessiveness. "You're mine, Raven. Not his, mine. My mate. I can't have you throwing yourself at men."

His chest heaved, his breaths uneven.

Storm looked down, realizing what he'd just confessed. Raven was silent, her mind blown.

If he had shown a tiny bit of interest in her back then, perhaps she would have not had her life torn.

However, he did not.

Just the thought of his entitled personality made her want to punch him in the face.

"And what if I say yes, what are you going to do?" she countered, her tone sharp and cold.

"You won't."

"And why is that?"

"Because you know he isn't your mate."

"That's what you think, Alpha Storm. Who knows what the future holds."

Raven did not expect her words to hurt Storm, but they did.

Hurt flashed across his face. His grip on her tightened. He leaned his face in close.

"You wouldn't dare. Not after we made love."

"Coming from an asshole Alpha King, that to me, means nothing."

Storm snarled, his eyes glowed as he slammed his fist on the wall.

Raven did not cower under his stare. Instead, she matched it. "Hurt?" She scoffed, "That's just the beginning. I'll..." The words had barely left Raven's lips when Storm crashed his lips on hers, silencing her.

Storm's eyes darkened as they shut. He sneaked his tongue into her mouth quickly, kissing her deeper, his tongue exploring the hot cavern of her mouth, savouring the taste he had longed for, for months.

At first Raven resisted, trying to push back but his body, tongue and hand held her in place.

But with every second that passed, her resistance waned as Tori threatened to take over, responding slightly to the kiss, igniting the flames.

Just as his grip on her hand loosened Raven yanked her hand free and pushed Storm back, landing a hot slap across his cheek.

He whipped his head to face her, only to see a tear in her eyes.

"Raven…"

"Stay back." Raven swallowed. "You're the worst."

Hurt flashed in Storm's eyes. "Disgrace me publicly but in private you come for me."

"It's not like that. I-I want you Raven."

"Yes, as a whore right?"

Storm felt his chest tighten. "No. That's not true."

"Lies!" she snapped. "All lies. After all a whore like me can never be worthy of being called your Luna." Fresh tears threatned to blur her eyes at the memory.

The feeling of weakness her wolf felt that day.

"Since you do not understand that I do not wish to be with you I'll make it clear. I'll severe that connection that you latch on."

Storm's eyes widened and Silver growled in response. They knew what was coming. He did it before. Now it was her turn.

He took a step forward, reaching for her hand, attempting to stop her but Raven moved to the side, avoiding him.

A cruel bitter smile adorned her lips as she enunciated, "I, Raven Ryker…"

"No."

"...reject you, Alpha King Storm Ace, as my mate."
