"What?" Scarlet was alarmed by the news. The joy that radiated off her seconds before totally diminished. She pointed at herself and asked her father, just to make sure she heard clearly the first time.
"I should befriend Crystal?" Ethan nodded. "B-but she's or was Raven's best friend."
"Yet, I'm doing business with her dad."
"But."
Ethan lifted his palm to stop his daughter. "No buts. I need more of his investments. Make it happen."
Scarlet rolled her eyes. If anyone could tell her how to live her life in a not so fun way, it would be her father.
"Dad isn't this...?" He shot her an icy glare, making ehr swallow her protest. Scarlet nodded, keeping her disapproving frown on. "I will try."
"No one asked you to try. Do it."
Ethan left them in the parlour after that, leaving a sour taste in Scarlet's mouth.
