Chapter 36 - They are grown up

Nivik observed a few subtle changes in Advik's expression. He noticed the faint buzz of Advik's phone and the quick smile that followed as his brother glanced at the screen. It was an unusual smile, one filled with a mixture of amusement and warmth. Shortly after, Advik agreed to teach both Anvika and Neena how to play the piano, which only deepened Nivik's curiosity.

He also noticed Anvika typing something on her phone right before Advik's expression changed. His mind quickly pieced together the possibility that Anvika might have sent a message to Advik.

As the evening progressed and everyone settled into small groups, Nivik found a moment to sit next to Anvika. He leaned in, his voice low and only audible to her. "Did you send a message to Advik just now?" he asked, his tone curious but gentle.

Anvika glanced at him, a hint of surprise in her eyes before she smiled. "Yes, I did," she admitted softly, knowing there was no point in hiding it from her perceptive friend.

Nivik nodded, his earlier unease starting to make more sense. "What did you say to him?" he inquired, still keeping his voice low to ensure their conversation remained private.

Anvika hesitated for a moment She later described the whole conversation that she and Advik had after they had departed. before replying, "I just apologized for putting him on the spot about the piano lessons. It wasn't planned, and I wanted to make sure he was okay with it."

Nivik absorbed this information, feeling a strange mix of relief and something he couldn't quite identify. He appreciated Anvika's thoughtfulness and how she always seemed to consider everyone's feelings. "That's very considerate of you," he said, his voice softening with affection.

Anvika's smile widened. "Thank you, Nivik. I just want everyone to be happy."

Nivik didn't inquire further since he saw Advik's concern for Anvika and was apprehensive about Anvika being close to his brother.

'Do I view this incorrectly, does Advik bro have emotions for Anvika, or am I just overanalyzing it' , he asked himself. ' I am aware that Anvika just views Advik as a buddy. Does Advik, his brother, share Anvika's sentiments?'

Anvika saw Nivik contemplating about something and said, "What is going on? Why are you asking me that, Nivik?'

Nivik asked, his mind instantly clearing, "Nothing, so you are enthusiastic about in picking up the piano."

"Yes" , Anvika joyfully said, "I really enjoyed it, and I'm so happy that Advik agreed to teach me that."

As they continued chatting, Nivik felt his earlier unease dissipate, replaced by a renewed sense of appreciation for the strong bonds they all shared. He realized that, regardless of the shifts and changes in their relationships, their core connection remained steadfast and true.

...

Nivik held Anvika's hand and helped her walk. "Okay, it's getting late, let me drop you back to your room so that you can have some rest," he remarked.

Anvika thought of something right away.

"Nivik, I feel like I cannot move around cuz my leg hurts a bit". She spoke in a rather agonized tone.

Anvika worried Nivik, so he quickly raised her in his arms and said. "Who asked you to stroll around? I can see that your leg hurts. Let me drop you off in your room, and please don't move until your leg heals fully" . His tone was one of wholehearted concurrence with Anvika.

Anvika really did it on intentionally so that Nivik would take her.

She put her arms round Nivik's neck as he raised her up. She's head over heels in love with him.

Anvika pondered in her mind. 'Nivik I was looking for yell at you in order to let you know that I am in love, but how can I express you that? Will you welcome me? '

Her eyes are brimming with affection as she stares at Nivik.

When Neena arrived to take care of Anvika and Nivik, she witnessed that Nivik was carrying Anvika to her home and that Anvika was lovingly staring at Nivik.

'Is Anvika hiding something? Why does it seem like she has feelings for my brother? ', She pondered in her head. ' I'll find out what's currently going on between this pair of guys , whatever it may be.'

Nivik took great care to carry Anvika into her room and laid her gently on the bed.

Nivik inquired, "Should I call mom to inquire about looking after your broken leg?" in a kind manner.

"Nivik, there's no need to fret; I'll be fine after taking a drift off' , Anvika smiled.

"Alright, then take a nap and I'll be right back."

"No, please hold on. I'm not tired. Shall we speak instead? ", Anvika pleaded with him to be alongside her a little while longer.

Nivik consented and sat next to her, engaging in a friendly conversation.

Advik was preoccupied with returning the visitor, so when he eventually came back, he wasn't expecting to see Anvika.

He proceeded to question Neena about Anvika. Neena said that Anvika returned to her room to rest as she was exhausted.

Given that she handled all of the decorating and that Anvika needed rest at the moment due to her injuries, Advik reasoned that she may be quite exhausted.

Returning to their home, Arya and Aaravi entered Anvika's chamber to have a look at her.

When they unlocked the door, they spotted Nivik seated on the bed close to Anvika, who was sleeping there while she was laying down.

They both felt like sleeping as they were conserving.

Nivik's sleeping posture made Aaravi giggle. " These two children seem to have slept off during conservation."

Glancing at Arya, Aaravi replied, "Go and get Nivik adjusted so that he can sleep properly; if he slept that way the entire night, he will definitely get neck pain."

Even though these two are grown adults, Aaravi still thinks of them as children since she saw them grow up together and loved how they argued and looked out for one another. She still thinks of Anvika and Nivik as children even if they share a single bed.

Arya remarked, "I believe Nivik should return to his room."

Arya knows that his child adores Nivik, and that if Nivik were to reject her in the future, Anvika would be devastated. He didn't want to see her daughter in such state. Most importantly, he didn't want others to see their relationship distinct ways because they are mature adults.

"Let him sleep; he's already asleep", Aaravi remarked.

"They are grown up Aaravi, and Nivik is a boy. We ought not to permit outsiders to point out at them. We are familiar with our kiddos. It is not vital that outsiders share our thoughts in a way as we believe," Arya stated, turning to face his wife.

Aaravi realized what her husband was saying when she saw the children sleeping well and pondered how grown up her children had become.

She didn't say anything further after concluding that Arya was right.

"They have grown up so fast, but I still feel like they are children. I can still remember when they were little."

"Indeed, they have grown up and will shortly be making their own choices regarding careers" , Arya replied, glancing at Anvika.

Arya proceeded to rouse Nivik gradually. Nivik. He patted him gently to rouse him.

Rubbing his sleep-weary eyelids, Nivik realized he was still in Anvika's chamber.

He inquired with Arya if Anvika had slept, then turned to face the tranquilly drifting off Anvika across from him.

"It's too late to return to your room; indeed, she is". Arya smiled as he said.

After giving Arya a quick glance, Nivik remarked, "Okay, uncle, I'm heading back. Goodnight to you both."

He bid Arya and Aaravi good night.

He saw Anvika for the last time before leaving the room.

Nivik spotted Neena and Advik chatting casually as soon as he walked into the hall.

Neena exclaimed, "Did Anvika kick you back since you walked back?" as soon as she saw her brother again.
