Seeing the concern on her husband's face and hearing Nivik's story, Sarah, who was a doctor, decided to take no chances. She gently but firmly insisted on taking Nivik to her hospital for a proper check-up.
Once they arrived at the hospital, Sarah conducted a thorough examination and ordered some X-rays. Nivik, trying to downplay his discomfort, winced occasionally but kept his spirits up. As the reports came in, Sarah's professional demeanor shifted to one of maternal concern.
"Nivik," she said, looking up from the X-rays with a mix of worry and sternness in her eyes, "you actually have a broken leg. You need to take this seriously and rest."
Nivik's eyes widened in surprise. "A broken leg? I didn't think it was that bad."
Sarah nodded, her expression softening slightly. "Yes, it is. You're lucky it's a minor fracture, but you still need to be very careful. This means no more running around or any strenuous activity for a while."
She then shifted to a more scolding tone, her motherly instincts kicking in. "Nivik, you're not a small kid anymore. You need to be more careful! How did you manage to get injured like this?"
Nivik looked down, a bit embarrassed. "I was in a hurry, Mom. I didn't see the step."
Sarah sighed, her stern expression tempered with a touch of sympathy. "You have to slow down and pay attention to your surroundings. This is why you need to be careful. You're not invincible, you know."
Nivik nodded, feeling the weight of his mother's words. "I will, Mom. I promise."
As she finished wrapping his leg in a cast and giving him instructions for care and rest, Sarah's concern remained evident. "You'll need to take it easy for the next few weeks. No arguments, alright?"
Nivik smiled faintly, appreciating his mother's care despite her scolding. "Alright, Mom. I'll rest."
Sarah gave him a reassuring pat on the shoulder. "Good. Now let's get you home."
As they made their way back, Nivik couldn't help but feel grateful for his mother's expertise and love. Despite the pain and the scolding, he knew he was in good hands. The ride home was filled with gentle reminders from Sarah about taking care of himself, and Nivik promised himself that he would be more careful in the future, not just for his own sake, but for the peace of mind of those who cared for him.
After ensuring that Nivik was alright, Dhruv and Advik helped him to his room, and Dhruv later left for his own room.
Looking at Advik, Nivik questioned, "Brother, do you believe me?"
"Yes, I do. Get some sleep; it's getting late; we can talk about it later". Advik said.
Nivik was disappointed that his brother was the one who gave him credibility. He was also very perplexed; in fact, the liquid that had been poured on the stairs caused him to drop, but it quickly dried up.
Advik will never do Frank's in such a situation because he always believes in his brother and is well-aware of Nivik.
When Nivik and his parents had departed, Advik reviewed the footage from the front cam. However, he discovered that his home's front camera had been harmed. Before the party began, it had been working properly, but after it ended, it had sustained damage.
A little suspicious, Advik approached Nivik and sniffed his clothes; he detected the same scent as he had near the stairs.
Advik questioned, "What is this smell?"
Nivik claimed that the scent on his shirt was the same as the liquid that is poured down the stairs.
"Give me your shirt" , Advik demanded right away.
He removed his shirt without any hesitation and handed it to Advik.
Advik said to his brother, "Don't worry, I'll make whoever did this pay." Later on, he departed from the space.
