Herret then came closer to help Tahra pack the things she thought to be the most important, surprised to realize than it took them less time than she hoped.
"That's practically it! We should start moving them to the car"
"You should take a bath first," Herret said, blocking her path before she could slowly start to drag the suitcases to the car.
"No! The faster I leave the better!"
"Have you seen your face?" Herret said with sincere concern in her tone, even as she tried to hide the fact that the main reason was to give Zane enough time to get to them.
'Zane loves her! He wouldn't do such a thing without a good enough reason!' Herret thought, stretching both her hands to the side to stop Tahra from leaving.
"A hot bath! You look like a mess. I'll prepare clean clothes for when you come out," Herret urged her, gently turning her around and pushing her into the bathroom. Closing the door before Tahra could think to kick up a fuss.
All it took was one look in the mirror before Tahra moved to the shower, happy to allow the hot steamy water to slither down her skin.
Hot enough to distract her from the pain in her heart.
'Don't think about him! Don't think about him!' Tahra gritted her teeth together as she lowered her head and felt fresh tears slowly slide down her face.
But unable to help it, it took a couple of more minutes before Tahra could get out of the bathroom.
"I know my eyes still look as bad," Tahra said the second she came out and began to dress up.
She was just about done when she heard noises downstairs, one that made her instantly flinch as she heard loud footsteps slowly get closer to her room.
"We're done packing so I'll start moving the bags!" Herret said with a look of concern the second she heard the thundering footsteps that inched closer to them.
But she was barely done speaking when the door of Tahra's room was thrown wide open, to reveal Drey who's expression immediately became twisted the second his gaze landed on Herret.
The main reason he had hurried back home was to get enough time with Tahra, considering it was the main reason he had ordered the men he took the videos with not to touch her.
"Get out! I need to talk with my sister!" Drey imediately ordered.
Herret didn't need to be shouted on twice and was about to leave with the intention of carrying a couple of suitcases with her when she heard Tahra shout for her to stay.
"Herret stays! She's not going anywhere!" Tahra yelled back at Drey with a furious expression. Shocked at Drey's guts to appear in front of her after all he had done.
"What? Framing me wasn't enough? Even now, I can tell your intentions are just as disgusting as ever before!"
"Do you really want to have this conversation in front of Herret?" Drey coldly responded as he calmly fixed his eyes on Tahra, something that only served to piss her off even more.
"What kind of psychopath are you? Are you insane? You think I want to talk to you?"
"Our parents have abandoned you but I can get your banishment to be rescinded. I'm the only one you have left regardless of what you think of me!" Drey barked out, the expression on his face darkening ever so slightly seeing that Herret was still in the room which prevented him from announcing the secrets he knew, one that would allow him to have Tahra.
'The drug I also prepared can't be used right now,'
"I only did what I did because father ordered me to. They'll be back soon but before then I can get you to a ---"
"MOVE!" Tara yelled at him moving to stand in front of him before he could finish saying whatever he planned to say.
"You know no one! I can hide you until your--"
"I won't repeat myself! I might be weak but I can assure you that you can't take both of us!" Tahra told him, glad that Herret had followed her in while wondering what she would have done if she had been stuck with Drey alone.
"...Unlike me, she's an only child and her parents love her enough," she continued, directly telling Drey the consequences of his actions if he ever stupidly decided to use force.
"Do you think you'll be safe in any other district? They would treat you like the foreigner that you are!"
"Really? That's good then! It's something I'm already used to!" Tahra replied squeezing herself through the small doorway Drey stood in, doing her best to avoid touching him as she pulled a suitcase behind her.
Herriot didn't hesitate to follow her, with her head fixed on the ground. Drey was someone she had known since she met Tahra and had avoided just as much. The last thing she wanted was to be left alone with him.
Walking side by side, they dropped the luggage they carried before going back to get the rest under Drey's watchful eyes.
It wasn't until they had dropped all of Tahra's things in the booth that they both felt like taking a breath of relief. But Tahra had just moved to get into the car when she instantly flinched as she watched two cars move into the driveway blocking the car she was about to get into.
It clearly belonged to her family and Tahra couldn't think of what more they wanted from her.
She had just watched them get out of the car one after the other when she opened her mouth to speak.
"What more could you possibly want? Now Maeve can become Luna like you all wanted," Tahra said before any of them could speak.
Confused to get a different reaction than she had expected to see, considering the smug expression she expected to see on her sister's face.
"Tahra! What are you talking about?" Maeve wailed with blatantly red and puffy eyes that showed that she had been crying.
"Yes, I didn't want you to become Luna but why would I wish for you to be banished!" Maeve wailed and Tahra's heart burned even more than before as she gritted her teeth together to keep herself from lashing out like she wanted to.
