Herret had just left when Tahra looked around and realized with a slight tingle of fear that she was alone.
Her bags were stacked beside her and the thought of having to carry them across the border was daunting.
Picking only one up, she moved closer pressing a red button on the gate, shocked to see someone immediately respond.
"Yes, why are you here?"
"For residence. I-I left my pack," Tahra said not having enough bravery to bring up the fact that she had been banished, considering how she would be looked upon for being a foreigner.
Tahra was still wondering if she would have to explain when she heard a loud clicking of the gates that signaled that the small gate was being opened for her to walk through.
'That's it? They're not going to ask any questions?' Tahra wondered, a little surprised to immediately come face to face with a middle-aged man who barely spared her a glance.
"You'll be checked and your luggage too, to ensure that you're not bringing in anything dangerous with you," He told Tahra who simply nodded glad to see two additional people pass her to pick up the rest of her luggage.
The rest of the processes were daunting but something Tahra had no problems getting through even after an older woman had gone through every inch of her skin to make sure that she wasn't hiding anything.
Right after, she was ordered to get into a car and it was only after the car drove on for a few miles that Tahra began to relax, realizing that the new territory she had just entered was bound to be her new home.
The trees were abundant and the environment was stunning as Tahra stared out the window, at the blissful sight in front of her.
It wasn't until the car passed a huge bridge and she began to see houses and buildings that she began to feel a little anxious.
"Ehm, where exactly are we going?" Tara opened her mouth to ask the middle-aged man she had met the second she entered the border.
He looked clean and cold and barely paid her any attention which was why Tahra also chose to be quiet, but the more buildings she saw, the more worry she felt.
"Are we going to the common apartments?" Tara opened her mouth to ask again even when she got no response to her first question.
Since the common apartments were usually reserved for the homeless people in the wolf territories who after being given free education were still too weak to take care of themselves.
'They'll definitely put me to work but I don't mind,' Tahra thought, annoyed that she continued to be ignored by the man who sat beside her.
About half an hour later, the silence in the car was much louder, one that Tahra no longer made an effort to fill, patiently waiting for them to get to their destination.
Which was why it was surprising to hear the man beside her unexpectedly speak.
"It'd be best for you to mind your manners when you get in front of the alpha. He has a short temper and even more from people from territory Z"
Tahra was tempted to ignore him and pretend to also be deaf, something she would have done if the situation wasn't so serious.
"I-I'm going to see the Alpha? Why? I shouldn't have to--"
"We've already gotten news of what happened. A Luna candidate is still a threat, even if it's one that has been disposed of," He interrupted with a huge frown on his face that made it extremely obvious that he would have preferred not to ever see Tahra.
Tahra was instantly stunned at his harsh words, even as she turned her face back to the car window, to hide how angry she felt.
'I'll just get it over with! If it's too difficult I can also change territories in three months,' Tahra thought, knowing that three months was the fixed time she would have to live in the territory.
Silent, Tahra continued to watch the car drive on, through streets and past intersections. Some parts are more crowded than others.
It wasn't until she saw the car enter through a huge gate, one that the man beside her was required to get permission for, that her heart began to race hard in fear.
'Relax Tahra! He can't hurt you. It's against the treaty,' Tahra comforted herself regretting choosing territory A simply because of how close it was to her pack.
'They're not my pack anymore!' Tahra sighed to herself, clenching her hands together as she stared at the luxury around her, waiting for the car to stop.
She didn't have to wait too long before the car did, and the man beside he instantly stepped out, almost like sitting in the car was the last thing he would have liked to do.
"Follow me!" He ordered with a grunt, gesturing to Tahra with his fingers.
This instinctively annoyed Tahra who not knowing his rank felt it would be better not to annoy him by glaring at him.
Still, that didn't stop her from reducing her pace to the bare minimum instead of trying to keep up with the man's pace.
This of course got her a viscious glare from him, something he pretended not to notice as he continued walking, reducing his pace while muttering under his breath for Tahra to hear.
"Weak! No wonder you were banished. Too f****** weak!" He mumbled under his breath as he continued walking forward, toward the back of the huge mansion.
This pissed off Tahra more than words could describe but seeing as how it was better than being called a 'whore' Tahra simply stomached the insult as she followed him at the snail's pace she walked.
Knowing that she would have slowed down even more if it was impossible, seeing as how any slower and she would have to stop.
Still, regardless of this Tahra soon passed a small gate that seemed to lead to a huge garden and it soon became obvious that she was about to meet the Alpha.
'Breathe! Tahra, Breathe!' Mentally preparing herself for who she was about to see, intent on not letting her temper get the best of her in case she said something she wasn't supposed to.
This was why the last thing she expected to hear was her wolf's voice, a creature who barely spoke because of how weak it was, something that had been like that since she could remember.
"Tahra! I smell something sweet. It could be our new mate! I would have been sure if your connection to our former mate was broken!"
"...But I promise, he smells really good, almost as good as the previous one!"
