Chapter 27 - The Call

It's been a couple of days and no news from the king on the journey to Azurethra. Princess Nala, who is left with her mother to take over the affair of the kingdom are beginning to get worried for not hearing anything from the king.

These have been the most difficult moments in the lives of the people and the kingdom as a whole. At one point, the princess is getting worried and disturbed about her current health condition, while on the other there is a possible coupe of the Punt people taking over their Kingdom and enslaving its people. The princess has been placed under the watch and care of her two maids, Amari and Zibo, as well as the guards.

Hakeemi on the other hand, heard of the news and decided to come pay the princess a visit. He sneaked into the palace again and began calling out her name from her window. As she heard him calling out to her, she quickly run out of her chamber and fell in his arms for console. He hugged her tight to his chest and began consoling her and reassuring her of victory after the battle, but there is main reason behind his visit to the princess.

Since the battle with the Punt Kingdom in Azurethra, Hakeemi has been thinking to himself in finding ways that the king will agree to him marrying the princess. He thought to himself that using the battle as an excuse can secure him ticket to the king's heart, and by doing so, he will definitely agree on him marrying his daughter, the only princess of the kingdom.

Hakeemi thought to himself of joining the rest of the army, together with the King to fight for the land and its people. It is of great pride and honour for one to give his life for the Kingdom. It has always been worth it because one earns not only the pleasure of the gods but the respect and obedience of the people at large. It is also an honour to fight for your land which can earn you a place in the royal blood line, and Hakeemi having that as another motive on its own, he believes joining the rest of the soldiers and the king in Azurethra will definitely be a break-through for him.

After a while of catching up with each other on the times they missed together, he then decides on telling the princess about his plans of joining the battle fight in the war.

Hakeemi: Princess, I have been thinking about something and want to share it with you. but before that, I just want you to promise you wouldn't be an hinderance to what am about telling you. (He requested of the princess)

Princess Nala: Just let me hear it first and then I can make my decision.

Hakeemi: Princess, until I hear your promise am not saying a word about it.

As she realised, he wouldn't back down from his words, she agreed and promised of not going against his words.

Princess Nala: Aright. Just let it out already.

Hakeemi: Okay. I thought of going to Azurethra to join the rest of the army and fight against the enemy.

Princess Nala: What are you talking about? The king hasn't chosen you to be on the battle fight. Why would you want to risk your life, for what?

Hakeemi: Princess, of course I am going to fight for our people. This land belongs to all of us, I need no permission before protecting the land left for us by our forefathers. And besides, this can be a way for me to get to the heart of your father, the king.

Princess Nala: I can't stand the chance of loosing you Hakeemi. And…

Hakeemi: (Sharply Interrupted) Princess, do not worry. I promise to take very good care of myself. Imagine the pride and honour it will bring us after successfully winning the war.

Hakeeemi tried his best and got the approval of the princess, then he quickly rushed back home to prepare himself for his leave.

The princess began to worry much because she fears he might not return and what will be her fate if it turns out she is truly pregnant for him.

The Ptolemaic Kingdom has been in a state of unrest since the hearing of the battle and the absence of the king. It will be difficult for the wife, who is the wife to the king, to keep up with the duties in the kingdom since it has always been the king who always attends to the affairs of the people. Princess Nala has no training or experience of governance, and the only person for them also left to Azurethra, to join fight the army, since it's the place of is birth and the land of his mother.

The king and the rest of the soldiers have already arrived in Azurethra and are beginning to plot their plans to be used in securing a triumph. It has been messy since the flee of the moon wings, whiles some of the guardians were smoked and burnt to ashes. Such abomination has never been successful during all the attacks back in the days when the queen mother, Yaa Asantewaa, who is the mother of the King and Amanirenas, was reigning as ruler of the kingdom. She has never, for ones, let her guard down, which has secured them peace ever since.

Amanirenas has already been plotting and making some military strategies before the arrival of her brother, the king, and her son Akinidad. She is a good strategist due to her untamed lion-hearted personality, and none of her plans has ever gone wrong. Due to this, the king has absolute confidence in whatever she brings on board, but this is a bit different of a situation. Without the presence of the moon wings in the town, proper and strict plans need to be made in other to secure a victory.

Akinidad has had a lot of training and has become strong, untamed and ambitious just like his mother. He fears nothing and he is so determined to help the king and his mother secure the victory they want.

The King brought with him some ammunition, that they are the only possessors in the whole Kingdom and had a full trust of helping them drive away the people of Punt. It appears the people of Punt have been underestimated on this matter.

As discussions were taking place in regard to the plans to be take, there come from a distance, Hakeemi, walking towards the palace of Amanirenas, all dressed up like a general. On seeing him, the king requested the guards to let him in so he can state his reason. As he gets closer to the king, he then mentioned that he is here to fight for the land of his forefather. The king was in surprise and told him that he was not selected to take part in the battle. He then apologised to the king but still insisted on helping in the battle. The king could not send him back to Carthage, since its miles away from Azurethra, and with the fears he might be captured and taken hostage if allowed to leave all by himself. The king then respected his courageous decision and allowed him stay for the battle.

Akinidad then welcomes him to his chamber, offered him some new clothes to change into and made sure he was fed, as he had travelled miles to get to their town. Hakeemi then tried to recall where he knew him from, and they immediately start to get along. They both discussed what they would have to do in the battle when the people finally arrive in their town, and what they intend doing after everything is over. As they were talking, Hakeemi then mentioned about the princess and Aknidad responded with good gesture about his cousin. Hakeemi did not make it known to him that he is having an affair with the princess but pretend to be just a secret admirer of the princess.

They had a long talk and then they were both called by the king's guards to attend the meeting in regards to the war at hand. The king then welcomed Hakeemi ones again due to the bravery he showed, and then began to explain the plans they intend using for the battle. They were so impressed and mesmerised for the experience the king has displayed. Just like Amanirenas, the king is also strategic and gifted just like his elder sister, and victory is one thing that is ensured with these two people on the starting line.

It is now time to get on the field itself before the enemies make the first move. As for the people of Punt, they have already gotten everything in line waiting on the move of the King and his sister. They know them to be strategic and clear with their plans, and are hoping it goes in their favor this time around.
