Chapter 32 - The Blind Spot

The tension in Azurethra is beginning to get beyond the threshold. Amanirenas is beginning to get over worried because the Punt have not still showed up, neither are they left with any clue of what their next step might be for the army to be prepared for it. Akinidad and Hakeemi are also being vigilant so as not to skip a single move that might take them by surprise. The unrest in Azurethra cannot be quenched without knowing what the Punt army is up to. They will continue to live in constant fear as it stands now.

Businesses are beginning to take its normal pace but without peace. The farmers stand the chances of being taken hostages if they go on with their daily farming activities, since it cannot be told whether or not their enemies are still in the woods. The most devastating aspect of it all is the chances of the women not only being held captives but raped and probably killed. The children will suffer most of the molestations since most of them are youth and will be made to fight against their own people in exchange for their freedom. This has been the worrisome part for Amanirenas and her brother the king.

While the king and his cabinet are seated discussing the potential traitor in the midst, Emissary Boateng stands side by side with as he suggests some strategies to be implored if they would want a win against the Punt Kingdom. The kings also being a former fighter and warrior of the land and Boateng being his close friend, he entreats the cabinet to adhere to some of the suggestions made by Emissary Boateng together with their ideas, hoping it secures them victory in the on-going battle, but little did they know that all plans will be conveyed to the army to help them strategize their every attack. This will potentially grant the Punt army victory against their opponent.

The Mapungubwe Kingdom, who is already under captive, are being made to swear their allegiance to the Punt army in exchange for their freedom. Most of the able men are recruited into their army to expand they potentials, while the able women are use for self-satisfaction. The weak being used as slaves while those that refuse to pledge alliance are tortured with no mercy. The lands they use for their farming and the rivers they use for fishing are forcibly taken away from them and no benefit comes to them as long as the Punt army are in control of their lands. The king of the Mapungubwe Kingdom is still under coverage and the protection of the Kitara Kingdom and is beginning to have regrets for not having much interest in putting up an army that could have protected his land during such difficult times.

Back at Carthage, princess Nala and the queen are under serious protections designated by the king. Although having the kingdom under siege and under the total control of their people is the central intention of the people of Punt, having the princess arrested and, in their custody, will very much make their ordeal easier.

When Zora was finally outcasted by the people of the Ptolemaic Kingdom, she sought refuge from the people of Punt and lived her life on their land until her final moments. They have lived with the Punt people much longer that they do not consider themselves as part of the Ptolemaic citizens. They were well fed and taking care of, and Emissary Boateng started his business journey on their land. He became so wealthy that the whole kingdom got to know about him and his competence in the trading world, but he kept his real identity hidden till he got into the Ptolemaic kingdom and won their trust, as well as the king's. It was during these moments that connived and promised the Punt kingdom of helping them take over the Ptolemaic kingdom if they agree on the term of concealing his identity. All these terms were agreed between Boateng and the Punt and have since taking over some small kingdoms and expanding theirs, and finally having their most awaited dreams being a success.

The king, Masinissan Linette Duah II, is still dumfounded as he could not lay any guess on who the traitor might be, whether he is really close to them or amongst the dwellers of the land. Emissary Boateng was also behind the intentions of Temi coming to alarm the king about the potential coupe that was knocking at the doors of the kingdom. Temi wouldn't have been able to notice anything if not for the alliance of Boateng.

Emissary Boateng offered him a sound mouth watering price if he is able to get the king worried and distracted with news of the coupe, so he could mingle with the king and try coming up with solution to stop the coupe, which will be known to him, right from the start to the end. He ended succeeding in getting Temi to tempt with the king and get him all worried, and that got him to being the master mind of the whole strategy as long as the war is concerned.

The kingdom has started to lose its confidence and trust in the throne, which tempts most of the dwellers to seek respite in other kingdoms far and near them. Although it is a difficult task to penetrate through the army of the Punt kingdom, but it seems not to be favourable to the dwellers so far as Emissary Boateng is found in their midst.

The king is now worried on how to get hold of the supposed traitor and Temi might be the only and best option the king has, but he is blinded by it since the alarm was first said by Temi and that puts him in a comfortable lead since he will be remembered as the man to have alerted the kingdom of the conjectural coupe happening amongst the kingdoms. It will be a sad an experience for the kingdom to lose their land to an enemy who is not deserving enough of their lands.

Princess Nala's situation is getting worse by the day as the changes are similar to the same issues addressed to her by her father. The last thing the king would want to deal with at the moment will be the situation of his daughter. Amari and Zibo are also taking time examining her as compelled of them by the king. the situation at hand so dire that the king nearly forgot of his family as the whole kingdom is at risk. The queen is more concerned about other matters relating to the kingdom that the king hardly attends to because of the issue at hand, and thus makes it more difficult for her to attend to her child.

A crowd of men are beginning to have entry access into Azurethra, as Amanirenas together with her son and Hakeemi, are more concerned in the planning of their next move to avoid their enemy from getting entry into their land. Akinidad and Hakeemi immediately noticed the strange men and began to confront them of the reason of being in the town during these circumstances. They noticed the difference from their look and the tribal mark they carry along with them, which distinguishes them from the rest of the people in other kingdoms. Luckily for Amanirenas, her child Akinidad and is newly found friend immediately confronted and took the strange looking men into custody and began to learn about their plots by questioning.

As Akinidad and Hakeemi successfully had these men in their custody, they began questioning them of the reason for their attempted coupe on a land that has done them no evil but rather being good to them. They tried getting information about the master mind behind the coupe, yet nothing was said to them by the men. Things began to get heated as they start to torture them in a way that will surely make them speak but still decided to keep mute. They are aware of the agreement between the kingdom and emissary Boateng and would not want to be the reasons why their coupe will not be successful.

Amanirenas was later called into the room to help with the interrogations yet them strange men refused to talk, not knowing their torture was about taking a different and much more painful turn till they speak. Amanirenas is strong and cold hearted that she will do everything in her might to get what she wants, and no one in the kingdom takes her threats lightly since they all know her potentials. A much more severe punishment was employed on them that took a different turn in their fate, and they began to speak in revealing their plans. They men were tortured that they could not believe a woman would have such an iron heart and an untamed personality in fighting to protect what belongs to her.
