The human heart is almost as weird as the human brain. It does exactly the same skip when you feel love as when you feel fear, betrayal and when you feel like an outcast. These were the feelings the heart of the maid felt when things turned to go the opposite direction to what was promised to her, Zora, that is the maid's name.
As the story starts to unveil itself, nothing seems to make any sense to Masinissa Linette Duah II, the current reigning king of the Ptolemaic kingdom. He starts to question himself how on earth this happened and was portrayed by his grandfather. Things now seem to get more darker and fader to the king. Could it be that Zora is still alive and her son, who is to be his wedlocked uncle still alive and living in the same kingdom with them? What has become the fate of his step grandmother and her son when all these happened to them? How did they feel when they were made to feel like outcasts in their own land? And how were they able to survive it? – These are the questions the king starts to ask himself. The more the questions keep popping to his mind, the more confused and heartbroken he felt.
Zora, the beautiful mistress and maid to the grandparent of Masinissa and Amanirenas, was such a damsel that even the moon could not hide its happiness when it shines on her. She was beautiful yet hardworking and obedient that the whole kingdom knew she will be married into the royal family and will gradually make a beautiful queen. But all these where washed away before her own eyes and the kingdom. What made her grow resentment towards the kingdom was when they all turned their back on her when she needed them the most, and pretended as if she was not the woman the whole kingdom was running after.
Zora and her unborn child had to live most of their lives in the outskirt of the kingdom, and had to rely on the charity of people, despite working in the palace as the special maid to the king and his family and had to be the mistress of the king by throwing away her values as the beautiful woman she used to be. Things grew so unbearable for her till she finally laid to bed, to the most handsome man the kingdom has even seen. He grew up to be a responsible man and worked hard in caring for his mother, but had this level of resentment towards the kingdom. This cannot be blamed on him because of the turmoil he had passed through with his mother, and the stories the mother told him regarding their kingdom.
The people of Punt are beginning to get further and further closer to the Kitara Kingdom, as they had their plans and ways of overtaking them and getting them to surrender to their wills. It will surely be a great disaster if they successfully get hold of the Kitaran people. The news keeps spreading fast and wild as it keeps getting to the Ptolemaic Kingdom. As long as there is someone that connives with the enemy, no where will be safe for them again.
Abidemi and his mother Zora, lived the lives of outcast until she finally kicked the bucket. She died a misery death due to the unrest peace and resentment she felt towards the people that promised her paradise on earth but later threw her away like a lost kite. She has always sworn on making Abidemi king, even if it is to connive with the enemy and take away the Linette Duah legacy. This has been the motive of Abidemi that has kept him moving in life. He grew up into a fine man, worked hard for a decent living, and finally made his way into the palace, as a submissive chief to the kingdom.
Abidemi was a loyal soldier who fought for decades for the pride and peace of the Ptolemaic Kingdom. He was a warrior with his own tittle that no one till this day, could be as strong as he was. Due to his bravery and fighting skill, the women will fall to his feet just to get him married to them. His handsomeness was out of the world that the king even wish he was young so he could marry his daughter. But as custom and tradition has stated, the royal blood needs to be married to a fellow royal blood, to keep the lineage and win more kingdoms.
Abidemi, after the death of his mother, came to the kingdom as a trader. He was wealthy that there was no doubt about his business abilities and anyone who trades with him was sure of accumulating some riches. He exploited almost every tradable business there is in the kingdom and was successful in all fields. He was later accepted and giving a place to build a home, where he got married to one of the prettiest women in the kingdom and also brought forth beautiful and handsome kids. He lives happily with his family, and it felt like nothing was there to worry about. Despite the privileges he enjoyed in the kingdom, by which he earned through his business skills, he then decides to join and train with the army of the kingdom, so he could help protect the kingdom. He continued his trading business which was controlled by his wife, while he joined the combat to become a soldier. His wife and kids, as well as the whole kingdom were moved and inspired by his motives, and became a mentor to most of them.
He grew stronger by the day until he was recognized by the throne, as the commander in chief of their warriors, that is after the supremacy of the king. He strengthened the army of the kingdom and made them one of the most feared amongst all kingdoms. He never got back from a battle with his soldiers, on the note of defeat but rather victory. The whole kingdom will kneel to his feet and praise him as the best thing to happen to the kingdom. He fought hand in hand with Masinissa Linette Duah II, way before he was crowned king to rule over his people. This made him to develop a strong bond of friendship with Abidemi, and their friendship grew stronger by the day till this very day. Abidemi was the best person Masinissa could easily confine in for advice. Abidemi strategized all their war plans which has always given them victory on the battlefield and has still been the same person assigning plans for the army. But this is beginning to take a surprising turn upon the unveiling of this obedient traitor.
His hard work and pretence obedience to the throne has earned him a title that most people in the kingdom, even the sub kings and chiefs, wished they were given such privilege, and was to serve as the most trusted and personal emissary to Masinissa Linette Duah II.
Abidemi was the name given to him by his mother after birth, but decided to recognize himself as Boateng in the kingdom. The traitor they are discussing about is the personal emissary to the king, Emissary Boateng.
Emissary Boateng is the son of Zora, the beautiful maid who was betrayed by her own people and had to live as an outcast for the rest of her life. Emissary was to be made king as promised by the grandfather of Masinissa Linette Duah II but was later thrown out of the kingdom even before he was born. His life was a misery on its own. He wonders so many times of what his crime was, that he never pleaded to be brought forth into this world, but yet it happens, and injustice took a tole on them. He resented the whole kingdom that he was ready to live his life just to see the kingdom get crumbled to the ground as a way of taking vengeance on behalf of his mother. As our elders say, vengeance is the destroyer of the soul, yet Emissary Boateng was ready to get his soul destroyed by vengeance.
He knew from the start what to do not to get noticed by the villagers so he could take his time and get what he was there to get. He did everything he could possibly do just to get the whole kingdom like him before undertaking steps towards his plan. As they say, patience moves mountains, and that was exactly what he did. He was patient enough and stayed low until he got to the position that will assist him execute whatever he had in mind. He is also much aware of the consequences that awaits him if he is known to be the traitor, but he has already pledged on his life on doing what he planned and ready for whatever result that might come his way.
