Chapter 33 - chapter 33

As the ship sailed away from Storm's End, Rhaenyra and William found themselves embraced by the gentle sway of the sea. The days passed in a delightful blur of sunrises and starlit nights, where laughter and heartfelt conversations painted the canvas of their journey together. Amidst the vast expanse of the ocean, they opened up to each other, sharing their joys, fears, and dreams.

Rhaenyra's heart felt lighter as she confided in William about her past, including her ex-best friend, the Queen. William already knew what happened between them, but still, he listened with unwavering attention, showing her the empathy and understanding.

"I'm truly grateful for this journey," Rhaenyra spoke softly, her eyes shimmering with the reflection of sunlight on the waves. "Experiencing Storm's End with you, meeting your family, has been an extraordinary experience for me."

William smiled warmly and said: "Being there with you made it all the more special and meaningful."

As the ship finally reached the majestic sight of King's Landing, the familiar sight of the Red Keep greeted them like an old friend.

As soon as they disembarked, a servant came and informed them that her father wants them in the throne room.

They agreed and headed to the throne room, on their way there, Rhaenyra's heart skipped a beat as she yearned for Syrax, her beloved dragon companion. The bond between dragon and dragon rider ran deep, and she felt a piece of herself missing without him.

She was going to visit her as soon as she finishes her audience with her father.

In the throne room, Rhaenyra and William approached King Viserys. The King's eyes lit up as he welcomed Rhaenyra back into his embrace. "Welcome back, my dear," he said warmly, as he stepped down from the throne and enveloped her in a fatherly hug. "And William, it's good to have you here once more."

"Thank you, Your Grace," William responded with a nod.

As they stood before the throne, King Viserys turned his attention to Rhaenyra, his genuine care for her evident. "Tell me, my dear, how was your journey?" he inquired, a hint of curiosity lacing his words.

Rhaenyra's smile radiated like the sun's rays. "The journey was simply unforgettable," she replied, her eyes glancing affectionately at William. "The time spent with William made every moment more precious."

The King's gaze shifted to William, acknowledging the glance she gave William. "I'm glad to hear that," he said, while his mind was hinting at the depth of their connection.

To William, Viserys was a fool especially when it came to the prophecies that drove him. Yet, he knew that in some ways, Viserys was both wise and foolish, a complex mixture that made him human.

William nodded, while he turned his attention to him "Your Grace, it was an honor for Princess Rhaenyra to accompany me to Storm's End," he replied.

As the conversation flowed, Rhaenyra shared more about her experience in Storm's Land, such as the strolls through the courtyards.

King Viserys observed his daughter and her companion closely, noticing the genuine affection she had while she talked about William.

After a while, the time came to bid farewell to King Viserys. Rhaenyra then said: "Thank you, father, for allowing me to go on this journey," she said, her voice filled with sincerity. "It meant the world to me."

"I'm always here to support you, my dear," King Viserys replied.

After that, William and Rhanerya, exited the throne room, after they moved away from the throne room. Rhaenyra started to eagerly tug William's hand, leading him towards the dragon pit. Her heart pounded with anticipation, knowing that she was about to reunite with her beloved dragon companion, Syrax, after what felt like an eternity.

"Come on, William! We must meet Syrax. I'm sure she missed you." Rhaenyra exclaimed; her eyes gleaming with joy as she pulled him along.

William couldn't help but smile at her infectious enthusiasm, allowing himself to be led by her. "I can't wait to meet her again." he replied.

In the weeks he acted as an advisor to Rhaenyra, he had met Syrax on several occasions. But he could never get used to seeing a real dragon up close.

As they reached the dragon pit, Rhaenyra's heart fluttered with excitement. She had missed Syrax dearly and was very eager to reunite with her after such a long period of time.
