Chapter 35 - chapter 35

As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting an enchanting orange glow over the sprawling city of King's Landing, Rhaenyra and William braced themselves for the flight.

Syrax, with her gleaming golden scales shimmering in the fading light, stood tall and regal, a majestic creature ready to take to the skies.

William settled into the makeshift saddle behind Rhaenyra, wrapping his arms securely around her, feeling the raw power of the dragon's muscles beneath them. For a brief moment, he closed his eyes, savoring the surreal reality of the situation.

With a graceful beat of her massive wings, Syrax launched into the air, her wings catching the wind like sails on a stormy sea. The ground fell away beneath them, and William's heart leaped into his throat. They were flying! The sensation was unlike anything he had ever experienced before, far removed from the mundane world of airplanes in his past life. It was freedom personified, thrilling and liberating all at once.

As they soared through the vast expanse of the evening sky, the world below transformed into a breathtaking panorama. King's Landing, once a bustling city, now appeared as a mesmerizing miniature model, its winding streets and towering buildings looking like tiny toys in the distance. The Red Keep, with its crimson hue, stood majestically among the city's treasures.

Rhaenyra's infectious laughter rang out, carried away by the rushing wind. "Isn't this incredible?" she called out to William, her joy radiating from every fiber of her being.

"It's... it's amazing!" William shouted back, the nervousness of the initial takeoff replaced by sheer exhilaration.

As they glided gracefully through the evening sky, the rush of wind and the thrill of flight enveloped Rhaenyra and William like a cocoon of euphoria. Time seemed to stand still as they embraced the surreal experience, suspended between the vastness of the heavens and the beauty of the world below.

In the midst of their exhilarating flight, Rhaenyra turned her head to face William, her eyes sparkling with excitement and affection. A playful smile tugged at the corners of her lips, and before he could fully comprehend the moment, she leaned in and tenderly pressed her lips against his.

The kiss was soft and electric, sending William's heart racing like the wings of a hummingbird. Her lips were warm and sweet, and as he closed his eyes and savored the magical moment, she cupped his face gently, and kissed him again.

This time, William wrapped his arms around her waist, pulling her closer. While they kissed. After a while, they finally broke away, Rhaenyra smiled then rested her head against his chest, and he found himself lost in the soft, rhythmic sound of her breathing.

Rhaenyra's smile held a touch of bashfulness, her cheeks adorned with a rosy hue. "I couldn't resist," she admitted with a playful glint in her eyes. "Being up here, with you, it felt like the perfect moment."

"I'm glad you did," William replied, a genuine smile spreading across his face. "It was... incredible."

As they prepared to descend back to the dragon pit, Syrax's landing was as graceful as her takeoff, completing their aerial adventure on a perfect note. William dismounted, his heart still racing from the adrenaline-fueled flight and the enchanting kiss that left him longing for more. Rhaenyra gracefully followed suit, her eyes alive with excitement and contentment.

"That was beyond incredible!" William exclaimed.

Rhaenyra beamed at him, her eyes sparkling with happiness. "I knew you'd love it," she said, giving him a playful nudge.

Looking into her eyes, William only had one thought in his mind.

And that is, how much he loved her.
