Claire was so happy to see the way he was not happy. "Who did this?" He kept on questioning himself while he kept tapping the floor with his feet, waiting for whatever he was checking on his phone, while she still tried to figure out what it was.
"What would happen if he found out that I was the one behind everything?" What would he do to me?" She acted like she didn't see him there while she went to take a bath, and she dressed up in the bathroom before she went out.
"I have to go to work now. I guess you must not be lucky. You should have stayed at home that day. Maybe all of this won't happen." She informed him while shrugging her shoulders. He looked at her suspiciously with squinted eyes.
She was trying every means of hers to annoy him, and she was doing all she could so he could get annoyed. She was thrilled to see him in that condition.
"Are you joking right now? After giving me the cold behaviour for days! You are suddenly happy that all of these are happening to me today." He looked at her with an irritated face.
She went to grab her handbag and paused right at the door to reply to what he just said. "Maybe next time you will know how to stick your nose in one place." She scoffed and then walked out of the room, leaving him there.
She heaved a deep sigh immediately as she walked out of the room. She felt they had to take risks in this life; even if the risk was to see their enemies suffer, they were risks.
She went to her company to do my work, as usual. She kept getting calls from Joshua's assistant. It was so scary at that point. She decided not to pick up at all—until she got a call from the devil himself.
He called her business number, but he didn't know that she was the one. She picked it up without hesitation. "Can we get to meet?" He started immediately as she picked up the call.
"Yes, we should. You can text me the address and the time." She informed him before she ended the call. She didn't know if she was doing the right thing or the wrong thing.
She knew, in fact, that there was no way he would use violence against her. The highest thing that he could get to do was embarrass and insult her.
~ Later that day
She noticed the fact that the news about him was no longer trending, and she couldn't find it on any website. It turned out that it had been brought down. That's the power of being strong!
She didn't feel that bad since she just did it for fun, though. Her alarm reminded him of the meeting that she had already planned with him. She rubbed her hand against her forehead, wondering what it was going to look like.
What would his face look like if he knew she'd posted about his scandal? She drove off to where they were supposed to meet, and she could see him through the transparent glass wall of the huge building already.
She entered the restaurant and walked up to where he was. "Hey, Joshua." Because he was too busy to even notice her presence, she called his name. He looked up and was so surprised to see her.
A smirk crept onto his face immediately after he saw her. Joshua had been waiting for the CEO he was supposed to meet that day. He wasn't sure about it, but he felt like they were the ones who were responsible for that, especially given the fact that their offer was rejected.
"What are you doing here? Do you think you are supposed to be here?" He asked with his eyes squinted. She sat right on the chair opposite him, her legs crossed.
"Are you stalking me now? Am I so beautiful that you can't even resist me?" He questioned her, and then she took a sip of the drink that was placed right on the table.
Knowing that she didn't care about him at all, she laughed at the question.
"Are you naturally slow? Or, have you just decided to be slow?" She was irritated by his lack of thinking and behavior. He chuckled after he heard what she said. She placed the cup back on the table angrily.
"I thought you wanted to find your business. Was he cold to everyone? Including me? I know that isn't possible. Thank goodness you are showing out your true self now." He added.
"Let's go straight to the point. You called me here." She told him while she showed him the message on her phone, but he was still in denial. He called her business number using his phone, and then showed him immediately that he was the one calling.
He scoffed when he realised that she was really the one. "So you were the one who released that article this morning?" He questioned her, and she almost laughed, but she was holding it so hard.
"I was so embarrassed when I saw a lot of girls touching you and doing all sorts of things on the night you got married. I know you don't like me, but don't you think that would be too much for me?" She was already angry; her voice was getting a little bit too loud.
"Can you lower your voice a little bit to avoid attracting distractions?" He questioned her.
"Oh! Instead, I pity his wife. She must be so pained to see her husband that way. I wondered why she had to marry someone like that. He comes to this club most nights. Does he have a problem with his wife? They will keep on taking their empathy on me and not on you!" She tried to hold in her anger and ended up hitting the table, distracting a lot of people who were right in the room.
