Leo transformed back into his normal self since he knew the commotion would soon wake everyone in the tower. Releasing his aura, he tightened his grip on the atheme once more and another red glow appeared on the athame.
Just when Leo was about to attack again, the creature whispered in a hoarse voice, "your power is corrupted guardian." The creature slammed the bars with it's slender bonny hands and dragged it's body up grasping the metallic bars tightly.
Leo stopped and took just a single step towards the well house and the creature crawled back hissing in fear. The humanoid creature was intimidated by Leo even after he stopped releasing his aura.
"I can sense it off you, the power you wield is strange, I witness the guardian's strength throughout centuries but never one like this," the creature remarked with a shaky voice. "Like I said before, I am no threat to you, I can be of great help to you if you are smart enough."
Leo relaxed his grip on the atheme and for a strange reason he felt like the creature could do him no harm. "Step out," Leo ordered.
The creature crawled out of the well house and stood a few steps from Leo. It's face that ripped apart healed as if nothing happened to it to begin with.
The creature paced around Leo without getting any closer to him. It gave off the feeling of wanting to attack Leo but it knew very well that that was an impossible thing to do. Creatures like it could not cause any harm to the guardians.
"I've been bound to these grounds by one of your own, a guardian," the creature hissed with displeasure. "Not once did any guardian succeed in killing me, so they cast a spell on me and bound me to these grounds, this well house," the creature turned towards the well house with pure distaste.
"But you Leo, you can free me, finally." The creature formed a wide unnatural smile under it's skintight face. " I was enchanted and so you must reverse the spell, but you cannot do it alone, not if you do not want a taint on your good name," the creature concluded with a malicious tone.
"How could you possibly be of assistance to me, why would I need help from a creature like you?" Leo questioned the creature, not shifting himself towards the nows lurking creature.
"I know a lot and I hear a lot, throughout the centuries, before your kind existed. I can tell you who they are," the creature whispered.
Leo frowned and started walking away, heading back towards the tower. The well house was located behind the tower in a hidden place a few yards from the clear ground. Any other person would dismiss it as an abandoned area in the compound.
The creature could not follow behind him since it was bound to those grounds and so it could not go further that a few yards from the well house. Leo walking back hastily, trying to wrap his head around the series of events that just occured.
He just realized he could do a soft landing from what seemed to be the peak of a mountain, he was a super human. He expected such changes but what was happening to him now was not like anything he had ever imagined.
When Leo transformed, he felt like the feeling was not new to him at all, as if he was used to it. Leo slowed his breath and looked up the tower. He was wondering how he was going to get back up there without creating any attention.
"Alright this should be easy," leo exhaled stretching his arms. He breathed out sharply and closed his eyes. He then opened them and looked around. He still saw the tall wall before him and the well house and trees around him.
"What! Okay one more time," he closed his eyes again and waited. He expected to somehow jump back up and with that though in mind, he gave a slight jump but still nothing happened and he was still on the same spot.
"Are you kidding me," Leo growled in disappointment and decided to walk back up. He didn't understand why he couldn't get back up exactly how he got down before.
Leo was woken up the following morning with another dream. He had the same exact dream where he was seeing Lily before the gates of the tower. However, this time it was a little bit different. He did not only see Lily this time.
In his dream, the moment he saw Lily, the picture disappeared and he was suddenly inside the tower chatting with his mother. His mother held a green mug and they continued talking but he could not hear what they were saying, the speech was muffled.
Seconds later he saw the mug slip from his mother's hands and dropped on the floor breaking into pieces. He did not understand why he had that kind of dream. He got up and quickly went down to his now shouting mother who he heard calling out his name for breakfast.
"Good morning son," Sarah kissed Leo on his cheeks and continued walking about setting the table for breakfast. "I'm going for a walk downtown, I want to see the town it's been a long time. Come with?" Sarah looked at Leo enthusiastically.
Leo could not say no to his mother, other than being a very persistent person, she was also the closest to him. Plus he could use a little bit of a stretch and some time out of the woods. They were pretty secluded and the tower itself was very far from the main town.
Nobody else lived out here other than them and a few houses some kilometers away.
"Sure mom," Leo smiled back at his mother and his smile was quickly replaced by a frown. His eyes might have tricked him because his mother walked back from the kitchen counter with a mug, a green one.
This was the exact mug that he saw in his dream. He thought maybe he had seen it before and that would perhaps be the reason why he saw it in his dream, but that was not the case. In fact this was the first time he was seeing this kind of mug.
Clearing his voice he looked at his mother, "Mom have you always had that mug?" Sarah looked at him and smiled slightly, " yes but I've never used it. My sister gave it to me when I was pregnant with you."
Sarah smiled and continued, " It was a present, I've kept it all this time, my sister loved elegant things," she laughed and passed Leo a tray of fruits. "And I thought why not use it here in this equally elegant place, they match energies." Leo smiled back at her.
He gave out a silent sigh of relief and poured himself some fresh juice, 'it was just a dream' he thought to himself. His uncle shortly joined them on the table for breakfast. He kissed Sarah good morning on her cheeks and sat down.
"Good morning nephew, you're up early," Anthony acknowledged Leo. "I myself had a goodnight, slept like a baby," Anthony continued. Leo stood up to give his mother a hand with things on the counter so that she could also settle for breakfast.
"Uncle did you perhaps hear anything last night?" Leo directed his question to Anthony. "Not at all nephew, this place gets dead silent in the night I must say, or should I have heard something?" Anthony answered Leo, his eyes ransacking him.
"Maybe the coyotes in the woods, there's quite a number on this side of the forest," Sarah interrupted passing Anthony syrup for his pancake. Anthony forced a smile and nodded.
After Leo and Sarah were quickly done with breakfast, they both went to get ready for the walk downtown. Leo's father had gone out earlier to run a few errands in the town, so the only people that were in the tower were just Leo, his mother, Anthony and the servants.
The highest population in the tower were definitely the servants, numbering up to almost fifty. This way, every inch of the tower was always kept clean and in perfect shape.
Leo quickly got back to the living room before they could head out. He wore a white t-shirt and comfortable black pants. He looked at his mother who was still moving about arranging things in the kitchen cabinets. It was an open kitchen so he could see the area clearly.
Leo walked towards one of the living room windows and stared down outside, on the ground beneath them. His eyes searched the woods that spread a great distance ahead.
Just as his eyes were wondering, he saw one of the servants speed away into the woods. He did not see the face of the servant clearly, but he could see that it was a male. Leo wonder why the servant was outside the wall because according to his knowledge, the servants were not allowed outside of the gates, not unless they were sent on an errand.
Leo decided to dismiss the matter for now and focus on the things he had to take part in today, a walk. He thought it was ridiculous but he had to go nevertheless. He was brought back by his mother's voice we who was giving the servants in the room instructions before she could leave.
"All done now," she clapped her hands and flushed Leo a smile. She quickly rushed to the counter, "almost forgot to put this away," she picked up the mug and before she could realized it, she accidentally spilled some of the contents of it and she immediately jolted behind so that the spilled coffee could not ruin her dress.
Leo stared in disbelief as the mug slipped off his mother's hands and dropped on the ground breaking into pieces. There it was, the dream he had. He was utterly speechless. That only meant one thing, what he saw was a vision.
