He watched with horror as Lily held onto her pendant and forcefully pulled it off her neck. Titus followed the pendant with his eyes as it dropped onto the ground and as it slowly lost the glow on the ruby stone, every light within the surrounding went out.
What was revealed next was the sight of every shadow that was formed by the shade exploding under Lily aura. Under the deem lighting from the sky, Lily could be seen floating in mid air approaching the shade that was now trembling and crumbling under Lily's aura.
These events occured in seconds and before Lily was about to crush the shade, everything stopped. There was no movement of anything in the surrounding at all. Titus stepping in with fear, still holding up his hand, approached Lily with bitter eyes. He had no other option than to step in.
Lily had gone against the rules and taken off her pendant. This was the only thing protecting her in this world and now she acted without thinking? Titus was so furious. He noticed that Lily was beyond control and there was very little that he could do to calm her down. He was now just hoping on their relationship to assist him at this point.
Titus had managed to slow down time, that was one of his most powerful abilities. Approaching Lily slowly, he made sure that he did not provoke her. If by any chance he was to attempt provoking Lily, that would be the end of him.
When Titus was close enough to Lily, he released his energy and surrounded Lily with it. His energy mingled with Lily's darkness. It might be true that Lily was the most powerful, but still, Titus was connected to Lily in a stronger way, he had been by her side for centuries.
For that reason, he was granted power to enable him to calm Lily if at all Lily's power posed any greater danger. This however did not mean that Titus could tame Lily. Continuously surrounding her with his energy, Titus begun getting weak.
At this point, the only hope for him not to be drained off his energy was if Lily managed to calm down. Titus was using up almost half of his energy reserves. This was so because he was channeling his energy on two different directions. And both things that he was controlling in this case demanded large amounts of his energy.
He wanted so bad to scream out to Lily to snap out of it but he could not do that. He just had to wait it out until Lily lowered her guard. Finally managing to create an impact, he saw Lily softly fall to the groud and before she could hit the ground, a cushion of black smoke formed beneath her and enveloped her.
Lily lay sofltly in the black smoke, her eyes slowly shutting. Titus approached her and picked up her pendant and put it around her neck. Once on Lily's neck, the deem red glow slowly started appearing once more as it weakly begun pulsing.
Titus immediately stopped and at once there were movements again and this time, accompanied by a slight rush of wind. This action had however stopped the shade from being destroyed by Lily.
Being that whatever occurred seemed like it took quite some minutes, it had only occured in seconds. The shade was still crumbling down when suddenly it sensed the shift in the atmosphere, the aura that was suppressing it was not lingering in the air anymore.
The shade took this chance to flee from that place. And as it fled crawling on the walls, a loud shreak resounded in the air. The shade had managed to get away just like that. This was something that was going to aggravate Lily so much by the time she'll be able to realize that the shade managed to get away.
Titus was on the ground beside Lily waiting for her to come back to her senses and wake up. He was very restless since he knew that with the shade on the loose, the other dark creatures in hiding would soon detect it.
And with the shade by their side, they would prove destructive in the town. There was however something else that was also at risk. Knowing Lily quite well, Titus was sure that Lily would want the balance between worlds to exist as much as she was about to open up darkness to the living world.
Lily had a rightful place on either sides of the world because she was a halfling. Lily was however only aware of the fact that her bloodline was that of demons and that her mother mingled with a demon.
Her mother however did not mingle with just any demon but a higher one in the hierarchy of demons. Such demons were the ones that were considered as royalty. Back in their world, Lily was among the royals. For this reason, Titus had to protect her with his life.
Lily abruptly opened her eyes to the sight of Titus peering back at her. Lily's eyes were once again blue as usual but they did not lose the sharp focus in them. She slowly got up pissed at the fact that she was down on the ground at all.
She didn't bother to look back at Titus or speak to him about the incident that just occured since she seemed aware of his response and reaction towards her unexpected actions. Lily felt the pendant around her neck and touched it wincing a little at the little movement she made.
She then realized that she had a scar that looked like a burn on the very spot that the ruby stone rested upon. During the time that she was attempting to release her aura with the pendant on, it managed to suppress her.
Due to Lily's repeated action of trying to release her aura even with the pendant on, the pendant vibrated against her skin. At that time, Lily was so furious that she did not feel any pain at all. The ruby stone on the pendant had managed to dig a little into Lily's skin as though it was trying to bury itself there.
Lily was only feeling the pain after she had regained her normal self again. Lily looked down on her chest and so the little scar that the pendant left on her. She wanted to try and heal herself but that she could not do since healing herself was also one of her abilities that were being suppressed.
These abilities were being suppressed since they would be easily sensed by other dark creatures and most of all, their nemesis. Lily was irritated by the fact that she had now been reduced to a mere normal human and even had to carry herself as one, as much as she knew that she wasn't that simple.
"You need to fix this as soon as possible, I can't protect you if you keep making irrational decisions as this," Titus uttered under gritted teeth trying to control his displeasure. He was very displeased by Lily's actions.
Lily looked back at him and held her stare asserting her dominance and then spoke, "well then let's get going." Titus did not look remorseful at all and with the upset look he had on his face that was easy to notice, he vanished.
Lily walked a few steps and vanished as well. The next place she appeared at was the woods. She was aware that this was the only place that the shade would have fled to. This was because this forest was the habitat of most dead souls. And because of this, it proved to be a very eire place that would easily accommodate any other darkness.
Lily was also aware that the woods was not a safe place for anyone to venture into. With that thought in mind, she recalled meeting Leo in these very woods. She wondered why of all the places he had to be in there.
It was quite evident that Lily had not yet grasped the truth surrounding Leo. On the thought of him, she wondered where he would be at the moment and if at all he and his mother were safe. If she could remember well, the last time she saw him he was speeding back to his mother.
She then concluded that Leo must have been amongst the people who had fled the town square after the incident that occured. Of course Leo was safe with his family back in the town, Lily thought feeling very sure of it.
She moved into the woods and could immediately detect a presence. However, this presence was not familiar at all to that that she knew. Lily was specifically looking for one thing. Additionally she did not want to mix herself in battles that were not hers.
She mainly targeted the shade since she got pissed with the fact that it dismissed her orders to the point of provoking her. She at all could not take that. After all, she was now hellbent on locating the shade.
The shade had to perish by Lily's hand since it had witnessed her power, something that she was not supposed to reveal to any dark creature in an untimely manner as this. The fact that the shade had breached into the human world unauthorized, it was automatically trying to go against the dark race.
This made the shade an enemy even though it was from dark origin. Slightly grinning, Lily approached a shadow that was a distance away ahead of her. "I can see you made yourself a little trap," Lily mocked the shade that tensed to the notice of Lily's presence.
Lily then decided to channel her energy and use it to destroy the shade once and for all. The pendant glowed bright red once Lily began channeling her energy and just as she was about to attack, she heard a voice from behind her.
"Lily! Get down!" A voice sounded from behind her and she immediately moved opening way for a bright red flame that shot directly at the shade exploding it instantly. Lily was so shocked at the turn of events and looked back with disbelief at the figure behind her.
