Chapter 19 - Chapter 19 – Meryem's Sorrow

Late in the evening... When Kunt opened the door of the room and entered, Instructor Sarp stood up from his seat and welcomed his dear friend. They liked to see each other once a week if possible and have a drink or two. They often talked about the old times.

The two went to the drinks table prepared in front of the window and had a deep conversation accompanied by delicious appetizers and a pleasant drink... When the conversation turned to Demir, he wondered about the latest situation of Instructor Sarp Demir,

- How is the child?

- He's fine... He's getting better, even though it's slow. Actually, I wanted to talk to you about the child. It's good that you brought up the subject... In my opinion, the child seems to have realized some things... Today he came to me and said, "I want to do sports with you"...

- !!

- You don't need to be so surprised. "You can help me, right?" I was even more surprised when he said that. He spoke as if if I didn't help him, he would look for someone else to help him... hahaha, hahahaa

- Puhaha, hahahhaa...

- (After both of them had a good laugh, Kunt continued) I want the boy to get better as soon as possible so that we can start training. Will you let him?

- No need to ask. If you've decided, go ahead and implement it. But don't let that annoying Teacher Ayla hear it. Then don't say he didn't warn you. Then don't say I didn't warn you.

- Okay, I'll keep this a secret. I'll wait for the boy to heal for the normal recovery period and then send him to school... Now that we've made a decision, I'm leaving now...

- Why are you leaving so early? I will ask Nurse Oya to make the necessary arrangements before it is too late... By the way, do not forget to tell Ms. Esin. Nurse Oya won't do anything without her permission... Let's see how our boy performs after he gets better...

- Leave me something too. I haven't mauled him up enough yet...

Kunt left the room amidst the laughter and when he got home, he informed Nurse Oya about the situation. Nurse Oya, who was acting shy and didn't know what to say, brushed the issue off by saying that she needed to consult Ms. Esin about it.

Nurse Oya stopped by Ms. Esin early in the morning and came home again. Then she took Demir, who had just finished his breakfast, to the health room to do his daily checkup. Kunt, who was following the process closely, didn't leave Demir alone and came with him to the health room. After the check-up, Oya Nurse gave Demir the good news,

- Your recovery is going smoothly. The bruises on your body have very diminished. All that's left is for your bones to fuse. But I have good news for you. I stopped by Ms. Esin this morning. She gave me a pill to help your bones heal. (Nurse Oya opened the box on her desk and showed Demir the small round pill inside) The name of this pill is "Meryem's Sorrow"

- Is it "Meryem's Sorrow"?

- Yes, "Meryem's Sorrow". Healer Meryem was very upset when her little boy fell from a tree and broke his leg. She immediately started making medicine for her son. As her son cried out in pain in the room inside, Meryem's eyes got wet and she cried silently.

She was very upset about her son's condition but she couldn't go to him without finishing the medicine. That's why they call this medicine "Mary's Sorrow". (Showing the pill in her hand to Demir) Look, the white and blue on the pill are wrapped together like a spiral ring. They say the white is hope and the blue is tears. Isn't it very emotional?

- !! (Demir, who took the pill in his hand and examined it closely, asked hesitantly) How does it taste? Is it bitter?

- It's a little sour, a little sweet but since you'll swallow the pill right away, it would be more accurate to say it there is no taste. What's important is after you take the pill. Since the cells in your body will work very fast, your body temperature will suddenly increase. That's why you should take the pill next to me. (Pointing to the stretcher right next to you) You'll lie down here after you take the pill, okay?

(When Demir's anxiety, who had never seen such a pill before, was reflected on his face, Nurse Oya encouraged him) Don't worry, I will be with you until you get better. You will be completely healed in about an hour...

After looking into Nurse Oya's eyes one last time, Demir put the pill in his mouth and swallowed it with half a glass of water. After a while, he could feel the pill melting in his stomach. Demir's body slowly started to warm up as he lay on the stretcher with Nurse Oya's help, and then a slight itching sensation began to spread throughout his body.

As the process progressed, the itching sensation intensified where his broken bones were. Due to the excessive work of all his cells, his fever increased and he began to sweat profusely. As time passed and the healing process reached its peak, Demir's clothes were soaked with sweat. Demir's healing bones were tingling and itching so much that if Nurse Oya had not prevented it, he would have started scratching himself with his broken fingers.

And finally, under Nurse Oya's control, the healing process of the pill was completed. There was no bruise or broken bone left on Demir's body anymore. All of them were completely healed. Nurse Oya checked the details of the healing on the holographic screen at the edge of the stretcher. When everything returned to normal, Demir, lying exhausted on the stretcher, turned to Kunt and said, "I'm hungry."

- Okay, I'll prepare something right away. The food will be on your table until you take your bath and come back...

When Kunt left the room, Nurse Oya also removed Demir's sweat-soaked clothes and checked his body. A completely healthy appearance and a slight muscle structure that was not there before appeared on Demir's body. Very pleased with the result, Nurse Oya silently thanked Healer Meryem...

As Demir left the room with his clothes in his arms, Nurse Oya began to write down what had just happened in her daily report...

After Demir got out of the bathroom, he looked at himself in the mirror. All the bruises on his body had disappeared. He did not feel any pain either. He stretched his body slightly, leaned a little to the right and left without straining too much, and finally, when he was sure that all his pain was gone, he decided to do the "northern eagle soaring" movement.

After struggling for a while, when he thought he had completed the movement, he looked at himself in the mirror. Then, he immediately pulled himself together as if he had never done the movement. He decided not to do this movement again until he was stronger and more flexible. He put on his clothes and went to the kitchen to eat... After a nice and nutritious meal, Kunt, who was tidying up the kitchen, reminded Demir,

- Little Sir, we are starting our training tomorrow morning. Don't forget to come early.

- Okay. I will definitely come early.

It was impossible for Demir to miss something like this. When he returned to his room with joy, he read the book "The Heavenly Steps of the North Wind" from beginning to end again. Then he lay down on his bed and immersed himself in his favorite novel. As his desire to become stronger increased, he began to dream. After a lot of dreaming, he said, "Yes, I will definitely be as strong as Kutai. Wait for me Kutai, I will catch up with you soon."

Demir, who went to his morning training eagerly the next day, came back with a low morale after a while. Because it turned out that he did not know any of the moves Kunt wanted him to do. He did not even know the simplest, most basic stances.

Eventually, Kunt realized that the training book he had given to Demir before had been given too early and gave him a new training book "The Basics of the North Wind – Beginner." He wanted him to learn the names of the moves and the stances until tomorrow's lesson. At least when Kunt said the name of the move, Demir would know what to do.

Demir, who worked on the basic moves all day, had a more comfortable training process the following days. By the end of the fourth day, thanks to Kunt's guidance and warnings, he could now easily do all the basic movements at a novice level.

Demir, who had significantly improved his posture and balance, had only to repeat these movements and bring them all to the level of mastery. The prerequisite for this was to understand the deep meanings of all the movements and engrave them in his body. In this way, his body could perform the movements instantly...

Kunt, who was quite pleased with Demir's progress, could now move on to the second stage. After breakfast, he and Demir came to the warehouse. Inside the warehouse, which had been previously emptied and cleaned, there was a pitch-black pit covering part of the floor.

When Demir saw the pit from a distance, he thought it was a circle drawn on the ground and painted completely black, but when he got closer, he realized that it was a bottomless pit. He could feel the gentle breeze from inside the pit. He shivered as he looked at the pit. It was as if he was going to fall into the bottomless pit at any moment. So he took a step back.

Kunt said, "Little Sir, watch carefully" and then he opened his arms to the sides and crossed straight over the pit. And he came back the same way. When he saw Demir's surprised look, he showed that it was very easy, this time he crossed with his hands in his pockets and came back again. He acted as if there was no void undermeath him.

If Demir hadn't felt the slight breeze, he could have sworn that the blackness on the ground was paint. He leaned over the edge of the pit and extended his hand toward the blackness. At that very moment, a strong wind blew up from the pit. He was sure now that this was definitely a bottomless pit. While Demir was lost in fearful thoughts, Kunt's voice was heard.

- As you can see, all you have to do is cross over and come back on this thick rope. (Kunt continued his speech while Demir looked into the darkness to see if there was a rope there) In fact, you have everything you need to stay balanced. It's just that you don't know how to control them. I'm sure this exercise will help you learn balance.

- What an exercise, this is literally suicide. Do you want me to fall into a hole and die?

- Of course you won't die, Little Sir. The wind here is very strong, it will take you back up, don't worry. Just focus on keeping your balance and cross over. (When Demir's uneasiness was reflected on his face, Kunt added to reassure him) Would you like me to tie you to the ceiling with a rope so that you can be safe?

A little later, one end of the rope was tied to the ceiling and the other end was tied to Demir's waist. Demir pulled the rope hard a few times and checked its strength, then felt safe. Before he had a chance to question why there was such a deep hole here, he was standing in the middle with the rope tied to his waist.

He came to his senses when Kunt reminded him. As he slowly walked towards the rope on the ground, his fear of falling into the hole increased. When he finally reached the rope and took his first step, his heart was fluttering as if it was going to pop out of its place. Instead of opening his arms to the sides, he held on tightly to the rope tied to the ceiling.

A little later, when his heart calmed down a little, he gathered all his courage and took his second step. He swayed from side to side a few times, but did not fall into the hole. No matter how much he looked into the darkness of the hole, he could not see anything. But the light breeze coming from below was imprinting on Demir's mind that this hole was very deep.

Without daring to take another step, he turned and looked at Kunt waiting on the side. Kunt's look of "Did you fail to do this too?" made Demir despair. As he looked back into the deep darkness, Kunt's voice echoed in his ears.

- Little Sir, looking down may cause you to feel dizzy. For a better balance, you must look forward. In this way, it will be easier for you to adjust your balance. Moreover, you should stop holding on to that rope and open your arms to both sides and widen your center of gravity.

- Are you kidding me? I'm just a little kid. Didn't you have an easier method? I will fall and die here, you won't even find my bones...

- Don't you want to get stronger? I'm helping you get stronger as soon as possible. I want you to know that this is the fastest and easiest method I could find.

- ??

Demir didn't say any more and decided to open his arms as Kunt said. A moment ago, Kunt had walked very easily on the rope with his arms open. If Kunt could do it, he could do it too. When he slowly let go of the rope, his foot slipped off the rope and he fell into the void.

But the rope tied to the ceiling from his waist helped him and prevented him from falling completely into the pit. Demir quickly pulled himself together and climbed back onto the rope, holding on to both the rope he put his foot on and the rope tied to his waist. But his feet were constantly shaking and he refused to be on this rope anymore…

After falling a few more times, the fact that the rope tied to the ceiling from his waist would save him even if he slipped and fell made Demir feel better. His self-confidence increased a little and he tried walking on the rope again and again. After falling and getting back up so many times, Demir was able to take about ten small steps.

He was almost in the middle of the pit. At this rate, he would definitely cross to the other side by evening, but a deep roar coming from below brought Demir back to his senses. He held on tightly to the rope tied to the ceiling, but the wind was very strong. The wind blew for a while and kept Demir suspended in the air for about three meters, then suddenly stopped...

Due to the effect of the wind, the ceiling connections of the ropes also loosened and as Demir fell rapidly down, the ropes were freed from all their connections.

As Demir disappeared into the darkness of the pit with the ropes he held tightly in his hands, Kunt slowly walked towards before of the pit.

And said, "I tied it too tightly, it should have been untied sooner." He looked at his watch, and when he came to terms with the fact that it was almost noon, he went home to prepare lunch…
