Chapter 6 - Chapter 6

Shouta was exhausted to say the least. A month before the exams, he finally got Black Wolf to admit he was taking the entrance exam for high school, but he wouldn't say which school he was applying to. It was frustrating to say the least and he became more tense with anticipation the closer the entrance exams got.  Everyone around him noticed it as well. He glared at anyone and everyone, even the students.

He grumbled as he walked to the examining room glaring at the floor like it kidnapped his cats. He stalked over to his place in the corner of the room, still able to have view of the cameras.  He waited for his husband to release the kids into the testing areas, keeping an eye out for the familiar fighting style of his vigilante son. His eyes scanned over cameras looking for any potential. Shouta only spotted a few, but none of them had his potential.

Izuku - clad in his black cargo pants he wore when experimenting and inventing paired with his favorite band t-shirt, a navy blue jacket wrapped around his waist, and black combat boots - looked up at U.A's building then glanced over at MeiMei. She was jumping up and down in anticipation and excitement. Apparently her energy was contagious because he started doing the same. Grabbing her hand, he pulled her into the building and dragged her around the hallways until they found the room they were looking for (the floor to ceiling door would look intimidating to normal people but I think we've established these two aren't normal in the slightest). MeiMei bounced in place excitedly.

Vaguely, Izuku wondered if Eraserhead would be watching the hero entrance exams in hopes of spotting him. He giggled quietly at the thought, opening the door to find rows of tables seated in pairs of two and Powerloader sitting at the front of the room at the podium. The walls on the far side had windows going from floor to ceiling just like the doors in the school. The rest of the walls, bar the one behind Powerloader, were bare and white. MeiMei glanced over at the aforementioned support hero before shrugging and pulling Izuku to the back row of seats and plopping down in a chair. Izuku followed her lead and pulled out his computer to work on other things while waiting for the written portion of the exam to start.

~~~~~~
The written test was easy in Izuku's opinion. Powerloader mentioned that the slotted amount of time for taking the test was roughly 3 hours. Izuku called bullshit because he finished it in half that. Or maybe that was just him. Either way, Izuku confidently stood up and strolled to the front, handing in his exam, not breaking eye contact with the hero for a single second. MeiMei only spared him a glance before going back to work on her own test. Meanwhile Powerloader gawked at him then silently pointed to the door behind him that led to a separate hallway then the one he and MeiMei walked through to get there.
Izuku nodded and walked through the door. Noticing chairs lining the walls he decided to take one and start working on his next invention's blueprints in the notebook he brought with him. It was going to be a close replica of Midnight's quirked gas. All he needed was a small sample of it so he could find the chemical components to recreate it, and maybe build some small hand grenades that he could infuse the gas into so it releases when the pin is pulled.
30 minutes later more people started walking through the same door and sitting at the empty chairs. Izuku ignored them in favor of writing in his notebook. Izuku didn't look up until he heard the familiar cackle of his best friend (read: only friend) MeiMei.
"Zuzu!" MeiMei called out.
Izuku hummed in response ignoring the looks the other people were giving them.
"You finished so early Zuzu! I knew you were smart but damn!" Izuku rolled his eyes at her. He knew he was smart. His middle school teachers always falsely graded his work thinking he never noticed, but he did and one day he is going to destroy that school. Figuratively of course.
"MeiMei it was elementary. Of course I finished early." At that statement, everyone in the hallway glared daggers in his direction. He ignored them, of course while MeiMei cackled in response then bound over to the seat next to him and peered at the open notebook in his hands.
"Oooo~ Are you working on the gas bombs?" MeiMei asked, genuinely curious, and obviously not to cause chaos. Obviously. Even if she wasn't trying to cause chaos, it didn't work because at the words 'gas bombs' everyone put a good distance between the two inventors. Izuku internally laughed at how wary the others instantly became.
Once everyone had finished the written portion, Powerloader walked into the hallway and explained the next part.
"Ok so now that that's finished, for the practical exam you are all going to get your own workstation and create something with the given materials at your station. You'll each have two and a half hours to work on your project and at the end of the time frame you will present what you made and how it works."
Powerloader led all the examinees into the next room over and released them to find their station. Coincidentally Izuku and MeiMei's stations were right next to each other. Whether that was a good or bad decision, only the end of this practical will tell.
"Alright everyone―" Powerloader held up a timer, "―begin."
With the timer ticking down, Izuku looked at his given materials. There wasn't much there, but he knew he would figure something out. Glancing over at MeiMei he already knew Powerloader was going to have a heart attack.  Turning back to his own project he got to work, MeiMei's eccentric cackling and students working on their own projects, acting as white noise for him.
~~~~~~

Two and a half hours later, Izuku set down his tools and looked towards MeiMei. Her pink hair and face was covered in dust, soot, oil, and grease. Her hair looked closer to black at this point. He shook his head internally giggling at her antics. When they're both accepted into U.A, the school won't have a single peaceful day.

Majima, more commonly known as Powerloader, watched the students as he set them off to work. The girl with the pink dreadlocks, Hatsume Mei his brain supplied, was somehow making her projects explode. He looked at the boy with green hair and black highlights, Midoriya Izuku his brain helpfully supplied again, calmly sitting near the explosions, acting as if nothing was wrong. He never flinched once at the loud noises. It was like he was in a whole different world by himself and the noise around him was just background music.

Either way, watching these two work next to each other, fascinated and terrified him to some degree. They both had a chaotic energy around them that he, for the life of him, couldn't explain. Hatsume's energy was an errant chaotic while Midoriya's was a more controlled chaotic. He had hopped this year would be peaceful, but it appeared that would not be the case in regards to the support department.

Shouta wasn't faring any better. He had already spotted the trouble makers that that damn rat was going to put in his class. For instance, that Bakugou Katsuki kid. He had also spotted some kids he could help train extra, like the Shinsou Hitoshi kid. His quirk held potential but he would only rely on it. He needed some more muscle, and Shouta was gonna make sure the kid obtained it. The problem was that none of them were his Problem Child. Maybe he was taking a different exam. But why wouldn't he aim for the hero course?

Shouta sighed, causing Nedzu, the damn rat, to turn to him and ask the most obvious question with a cheshire grin, "So none of them are your vigilante son?"

The room stilled at the implication of Aizawa adopting the vigilante, but he didn't want to acknowledge it so he did the logical thing and ignored it answering the simple question, "No. None of them are Black Wolf."

Nedzu nodded like he knew something Shouta didn't, which irked him. Shouta grumbled under his breath not wanting to continue on the topic.

Majima watched the two newly dubbed 'Chaos Gremlins' interact with each other. Hatsume was covered in soot, grease, and oil; how, he doesn't know don't ask; while on the other hand Midoriya looked like he had just got out of a nice shower. The boy didn't have anything on him that would suggest he just built a smoke bomb. Again don't ask him how Midoriya managed to build a smoke bomb with the materials he had, he wouldn't be able to answer you.

The two stood at Midoriya's workstation discussing their project. Majima had given them a 15 minute break before they would go on to the interviews. He regrets it. Hatsume was talking animatedly to Midoriya and Midoriya just listened intently.

Finally his 15 minute timer sounded and Majima breathed a quiet sigh of relief. These two aren't even his students and they're already stressing him out. He led them to the official waiting area for the interviews and was glad the day was almost over.

(Later that day the Majima could be seen walking through the halls of U.A. muttering about 'Chaos Gremlins' and 'stressful school year' but no one called him out on it, if they knew what was good for them.)

At 3:30 pm Izuku and MeiMei split ways. Izuku had to go home for the week until his acceptance letter arrived, and it would arrive no doubt about it, because Izuku has confidence in himself that he did well, but that meant one whole week with that bitch Inko. Which he was not looking forward to at all . He had successfully avoided both Katsuki and Inko for the past 8 months and now he would have to face the latter and her fucking drunken slurs and misplaced anger.

Izuku walked through the door not even 30 minutes later and instantly beer bottles and wine glasses were being thrown at his head. He expertly dodged each one, causing them to smash against the closed door and the walls adjacent.

"Y'u usel'ss p'ece of qu'rkl'ss trash" Inko drunkenly slurred.

Izuku rolled his eyes, making his way to the room that used to hold his stuff but now only contains a bed with blue sheets, and a barren navy blue desk. It was dusty and obvious Inko never came in here in the 8 months he was staying with MeiMei. This was going to be one of the longest weeks ever.

"I'll just avoid leaving my room as much as possible. I got some extra money I could use to buy food so it's not that bad…" Izuku trailed off into a muttering storm with no one there to reel him back in, he sat on his bed muttering about the best ways to avoid both Inko and Katsuki.

His vigilante alarm rang at 7:30 pm, signaling that it was time to get dressed and ready for his patrol. He was glad he decided to bring his bag of vigilante gear with him or else he would have to go all the way to MeiMei's house to get it.

He quickly changed clothes and shoved his other ones into the bag and in the back of the now unused closet. Pulling the mask over his face he quietly opened the window, climbed out and shut the window.

Little did the thugs he caught tonight know that Izuku was going to take out his frustration and built up energy on them.
