Obviously, as a local leader of a small portion of the city of Gastros, Kiros had a huge pile of complaints from the population regarding taxes and the absurd conscription. On the one hand, fathers were joining Kiros's forces en masse, but on the other hand, this was placing an even bigger burden on his back since the city hall and the police were already putting together a great plan to overthrow what they called an "ideological plague." Of course, he was only called that because he didn't comply with the rules imposed by the corrupt. Seeing this as a chance to gain an unlikely ally, Mickey Von Maus II began passing privileged information to Kiros in exchange for possible protection in the near future. Aware of the risks they were taking and a little exhausted from so many clashes, Kiros went to meet Mayor Maclaus in a secret meeting. Maclaus was cunning, a half-human lizard with over 130 years of experience in political and diplomatic tactics.
"What do you want to turn a blind eye while we dominate the entire underworld of Gastros?" Kiros asked, fearing the answer.
"70% of your faction's net profit," said Maclaus with a predatory smile, showing his forked tongue.
"Impossible, the most I can give you is 20% and our friendship," said Kiros, unsure if Maclaus would even consider the proposal.
Maclaus started laughing like there was no tomorrow. After a few moments of laughter, he said, "Excuse my manners, I was just testing you. Your friendship is exactly what will be useful to me at the moment. I already have too much money." Maclaus said, extending his hand to Kiros.
Kiros no longer knew if it had been a good idea to negotiate with this crazy person, but considering the situation he and his forces found themselves in, he didn't have much of a choice.
