Deep in the folds of a harsh winter stood a boy whose name is Kaito. School had just gotten out and he was walking home thinking about one thing, Xenoverse 2. He's wanted it for the longest time and Christmas is right around the corner. When he entered through the front door he hit the front of his Boot against the carpet covering the tiled floor to loosen the snow clinging to his shoes. Finally getting out of his shoes he walks up to the living room and sits in a chair to relax.
"Man High School sucks" Kaito sighed out hoping relaxation would claim him. However his sister had other plans.
"Hey Dingus, you got chores to do" This was Kaitos sister Hana she was older than him and always shoved her responsibilities to him.
"Not this again!" Kaito whined. "You do your own chores, stop religating them to me because you're lazy!" Kaito practically shouted out.
"Ki! Stop or Mom might hear you, I have a really good reason this time" Hana's eyes shifted from alarm to a soft gaze. " I have a Date tonight and need you to cover for me Ki" Kaito looking closer at his sister indeed noticed she looked ready to hit the town. Her long black hair falling to her back as she flipped it up to straighten it out. Her Azure blue eyes compliment the teal/black dress she was wearing.
Kaito let out a sigh of resignation. "Fine but you owe me something" Kaito suddenly got an idea. "You Have to buy me that new VR game Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2" Kaito smiled hoping his sister wouldn't catch on as she was just as desperate for a date as he was the game.
"That dumb anime crap? I don't think so" Just as Hana finished she heard their mother call out.
"Hana dear you better be getting those chores done!" Their mother yelled kind of forcefully from her room.
Hana froze and weighed her options. "Fine but this is the only time i'll do this" Hana quickly paid for the game on the VR set they owned and started out the door before turning around. "If you tell mom where I am…I'll hurt you Ki" Kaito a death glare the message was clear he just dumbly nodded his head. She then Smiled warmly like the killing intent never existed. "Good boy, now go do those chores! Later!" Disappearing into the darkness that was outside, Hana was out of sight leaving Kaito to let out a breath he never knew he was holding.
"Damn I gotta be careful or she might kill me." Getting up from his sitting position Kaito made his way to the kitchen to do the dishes. Where his mother cheerfully entered.
"See Hana? Its not so hard!" She froze when she spotted her son, her baby laboring away and Hana nowhere to be found.
"Hey Mom" Kaito said, his attention not leaving the sink as he washed the dishes.
"Where pray tell is that slacker you call a sister?" She said the irritation cutting the atmosphere like a knife.
"She had some school work to get done so she went to a friend's house" Kaito responded in an even tone.
"Is that so?" She stated in more of a fact instead of a question.
"Yup" Placing the last dish into the drying rack he made his way into the bathroom to do the laundry.
"Kaito" He turned around to face his mother the stare she was giving him, sending a chill down his spine. "Are you positive that's the reason?" She was smiling but it wasn't full of the usual warmth, this was a crooked half smile and half frowning as if she was having an internal struggle.
"Y-Yeah that's what she said" He managed to choke out in a bit of fear. Kaito knew his mother and if he was caught in this lie there would be hell to pay.
"Yukko dear, leave the poor boy alone" It was Kaito's dad! He had come to save him from Yukko's wrath.
"Stay out of this Enki-kun" Yukko slowly turned to her husband and to say he lost his confidence is an understatement, he crumpled like a leaf.
"Erm Y-yes dear whatever you say" Enki just slinked out of the kitchen hoping to avoid his wife for the time being.
"Now Kaito dear, are you lying to your mother?" She tried to put on a warm motherly smile but it just made her look more terrifying.
"I'm sure mom" Kaito managed to spit out a reply under the harsh murderous aura of his mother. This seemed to calm her down slightly and that suffocating feeling faded away slowly.
"Well if you say so…" Yukko ruffled her sons hair and walked out to the living room to be with her husband.
After a long 2 hours of doing chores Kaito finally fell back onto his bed and booted up his Vr headset. "Finally i'll get to see what all the hype is about" Before he coils enjoy it though Yukko called up to him from downstairs.
"Its dinner time dear!" Yukko seemed to back to her normal motherly self.
Sighing and making his way downstairs he sat at the table and ate his food while watching his mother and father talk about news and such, when the topic turned to him.
"How was School son?" Enki asked with genuine interest, he cared deeply about his children.
Kaito explained his day and told all about how math class was getting difficult. The family of currently 3 laughed together for awhile until dinner came to a close and Kaito stalked his way up the steep stairs to his room.
"Now its finally time!" Hopping into his bed Kaito put on his headset and laid back. A bright flash of light and loud music started playing.
"Welcome To Xenoverse 2 and the Time Patrol!"
