"Something on your mind?" Kaius asked.
"No, nothing," Ira replied.
Ira needed to think about this carefully; one wrong move would lead to her death. But, then she thought again.
Since the Emperor was sick, he couldn't do anything in his poor state. Ira knew about Emperor Kaelin's great power, but she also knew his stubbornness.
Emperor Kaelin kills his enemies with his fists. No guards, no nothing. He lives up to his name, "The Bane Of Divinity."
"Are you sure? Anything would be fine? As long as it's easy to eat?" Ira asked.
"I'm sure, after all, if you fed the Emperor something extravagant like a turkey or a crab. I'd think you'd intentionally kill my father." Kaius replied with a dark undertone.
"After you are done with your task, Elowen will guide you to the next step of your task," Kaius stated.
"Hold on! Wait! Why do I have to make and serve the Emperor's dish? Isn't that something that is the chef's job?" Ira asked, grabbing Kaius's wrists.
Kaius looked at Ira with a mischievous stare. Nothing good could come from that.
"You're right. It is the chef's job. But I have something to prove to myself, more like confirmation. Kathryn, you look the same, but there's something different about you. Perhaps I am unsure of myself due to recent events." Kaius replied.
"What? What do you mean?" Ira asked, gripping Kaius's wrist harder.
Kaius looked at Ira's grip and forcefully removed it. He brushed the palm of her hand, studying it. Before letting go.
As soon as Kaius left, Ira was left alone. She quickly looked for something, like a recipe book.
At the same time, she was worried about Kaius's statement. Was there something different about her? Does he know? She needed to know what Kathryn was like; she needed to play the part like her.
But before she worries about that, she has a dish to make.
