"W-woah! Kathryn!" Ivan yelled.
POOF!
Flour came flowing down onto Ira, embarrassment quickly passed through Ira.
She quickly recovered, standing up while brushing the flour off her skirt.
"Ah! Sorry, Ivan! I was just trying to get the vegetables, and I knocked it over," Ira quickly explained.
Ivan laughed and looked at Ira with a grin while grabbing the vegetables.
"Don't worry about it! Here, you know what. I'll make the soup you clean yourself off, okay?" Ivan stated.
"Are you sure? You know, I could do half, and you could do half." Ira said, trying to lessen the burden off of Ivan.
"Don't worry, a simple dish like this isn't that hard. It's not like you're asking me to make a whole dinner for the Royal Family." Ivan said, reassuring Ira.
Ira's sigh was a breath of relief, a silent thank you to Ivan for his understanding.
She gave a small thank you as she returned to the servant's quarters to change clothes.
But, as she walked by, she couldn't help but overhear a conversation.
Voices that sounded like Reira and Elowen.
"You may be the Emperor's favourite! But Liora needs you!" Reira yelled.
"And if I disregard the Emperor's orders, I won't have a little sister to return to and protect!"
Reira took a huge sigh before looking at Elowen again.
"Elowen, I know I've been hard on you. I'm sorry. It's just that you always choose Liora over anyone else. But, Liora is dying." Reira's words hung heavy in the air, laden with the weight of their predicament.
"Reira, you know I would do anything for Liora, but she needs herbs from Iskandria. Iskdanria was just destroyed as a country, a kingdom less than two weeks ago. Not to mention, the 'Korczhent Princess' might be alive! People might think I'm conspiring with her!" Elowen's voice trembled with the weight of her worries, the potential danger of her mission looming large.
"Reign and Ivan can go. I can also join them. We would only be gone for three days," Reira stated.
"Really? Ivan..?" Elowen asked.
"I know Ivan might have mixed feelings, but if it's for Liora, he would go," Reira replied.
Ira already heard enough. Iskandria? What are they thinking? Is Liora that sick?
As Ira was walking back to her room, she couldn't help but feel bad. She knew what exact herbs they would need. The herb would cure any internal disease, and give them a beauty that last for centuries. After all, the herb was what saved her.
