Jonathan only released Clarisse's lips when he was satisfied, but he still held her close. He gently placed his hand on her left chest, and she could hear her heart thumping rapidly. Gazing at her flushed face, he murmured,
"Clarisse, listen to your heartbeat. Is this how you felt when Wooden·Drucker kissed you?"
The mention of Wooden·Drucker snapped her back to reality. She pushed him away and stood up,
"Jonathan, do you have any sense of right and wrong? I'm Wooden·Drucker's fiancée now. I have nothing to do with you. Why do you keep kissing me!"
He stood up as well, his tall frame looming over her,
"I don't care who your fiancé is. I only pursue you as my woman!"
Her anger flared for the first time, her voice rising,
"Can't you stop being so self-righteous!"
Instead of getting angry, he drew closer, a smile tugging at the corner of his mouth,
"When Wooden·Drucker returns from his business trip, just break up with him!"
