"Agente looked at her with resentment.
"Mom, Dad just said he was going to take me to the amusement park, but you didn't let him!" Clarisse looked embarrassed. Having a son who spoke so fluently and logically at such a young age wasn't easy.
"Agente, weren't you tired just now? Go to sleep for a while, and when you wake up, your tummy won't hurt anymore!" Little did she know, Agente shook his head, his pale face tilted up towards her.
"Mom, I won't sleep. I'm afraid that if I do, I won't see Dad when I wake up!"
Clarisse's heart sank. Agente had only met Jonathan a few times, yet he was so attached. Was this what they called blood ties, familial affection? But Agente, what will you do if he leaves you like this? What if he doesn't even remember who you are when he's with the woman he loves, having children of his own? Surely, he would love them more than you?
