Fear—a feeling he hadn't experienced in many years.
He rushed to the hospital in one go. When he arrived at the emergency room, she and Marc were already waiting there. She was covered in blood, her right wrist immobilized with a splint applied by doctors. Standing at the entrance of the emergency room, she seemed disoriented. He felt a pang of heartache and immediately pulled her into his arms.
"Don't be afraid, Woody will be fine," he assured her.
She collapsed into his embrace and suddenly burst into tears.
"Jonathan, please save Woody! You're a skilled doctor, right? Please save him, the doctor just said he might not make it!"
He gently pushed her away, held her tear-streaked face in his hands, and looked at her earnestly.
"You need to rest. Get some sleep, and when you wake up, Woody will be back with us. Trust me."
