Just as Clarisse finished dressing, Agente's voice echoed from outside.
"Mom, I'm coming in!"
Maya's voice followed soon after.
"Clarisse, breakfast is ready. Come down when you're awake!"
"Got it!"
She replied, Maya opened the door for Agente, who darted in with lively energy. Clarisse squatted down, using her uninjured hand to catch him. Somehow, Clarisse felt that Agente had become much livelier since Jonathan returned. It seemed that a father's love was crucial; despite his indifference toward her, he treated Agente exceptionally well.
As Agente leaped into her arms, his first question was,
"Mom, is Dad still mad at you?"
Clarisse glanced toward the bathroom and sighed.
"I don't know..."
He probably wasn't angry anymore after yesterday, but just now, he seemed displeased again. Oh well, Woody had saved her and their son's lives, so of course she cared about him.
