He woke up early in the morning and saw that Agente was awake in her arms but was considerate enough not to wake her. Agente lay there, blinking his bright eyes, staring boredly at the ceiling. Jonathan couldn't help but smile. The little one was indeed thoughtful.
He glanced again at her beside the little one, who seemed to have had a pleasant dream, smiling happily with her lips curved. He became a bit lost in thought, realizing it had been a long time since he had seen her laugh so freely. It seemed like it was when he first arrived in Miami, when she would laugh shyly yet happily, innocent yet content. Suddenly, he realized that since she had been with him, that radiant and carefree smile had never returned.
Agente noticed him and whispered, "Dad!"
That brought him back to reality. He walked over quietly and asked Agente, "Do you want to get up?"
