Chapter 14 - Chapter 14 - Cultivating in real life

Allan and Tory began meditating and cultivating in real life. It didn't take long for them to feel that it was working. They looked at each other and felt a chill running down their spines. They knew what it meant. If they could do it, then there are people that can also do it. So if they want to survive, they have to get stronger and be low key.

The game they thought it was just a game wasn't so simple anymore. They could feel that there was a kind of conspiracy in the air, but they didn't want to poke on it too much. They could only continue to get stronger to protect themselves.

Allan fished out his phone and sent a message to his friends. "Come to my house tomorrow instead of going to the cafe. I have something to tell you guys."

"Sure, no problem." They replied back.

Allan looked at Tory and without needing to say anything, they tacitly knew they had to cultivate all the way till the game started. Allan chose his fire cultivation because he was more familiar with it and cultivated hard. Soon he could feel a barrier and his cultivation wasn't improving. He was familiar with it. He reached a bottleneck and he needed to breakthrough.

He broke through quite easily and there was no flashy signs at all, Tory didn't even seem to notice. Allan then began cultivating the Wood element, It was the second easiest to him in Parallel Online, since it had already reached Rank 2 with the spiritual root for wood as well, but he didn't have much time left, he only cultivated for a few minutes before the alarm for playing the game sounded.

"How was it for you?" Allan asked Tory.

"It was ok, I almost reaching the bottleneck, I can feel it."

"Is you character in a safe place inside the game? Do you want to breakthrough before going to the game?"

"Nah, I can do it tomorrow. How about you, did you progress much?"

"I'm almost reaching the bottleneck as well. We can advance tomorrow. Let's play for now."

Soon they laid down in bed and put on their VR helmets.

Allan willed and his stats were shown to him. He had just broken through to the second rank in each element, so he wanted to see how his stats were like.

"Good, I'm much stronger. I'm pretty sure some stats in here doesn't reflect on they would do in real life, but it's nice having numbers as parameters." Allan thought. "Let's go find Sheila, I should be able to reach there by the end of this play through."

He left the cave he was hiding in and started travelling again. He didn't do much besides fighting monsters and travelling during day time, and cultivating during night. Soon the two days were almost over.

Sun was starting to rise in the horizon and Allan was already travelling, soon he arrived at the gates of another village. Soon he saw the Sheila waiting by the gate, how they had arranged before.

"You're finally here." She said.

"Sorry if it took too long. There were many monsters on the way here. Did you manage to cultivate a bit?"

"Yeah I reached rank 2 in the elements I was cultivating. I didn't find other kind of monsters there were easy to kill to improve other spiritual roots."

"It's alright. I'm pretty strong now, let's hunt all the way until we find the others. Here take this sword. I'm pretty sure it's much better than any ordinary sword. It can cut monster very easily."

"No keep this since you're best with swords." She said.

"I have another, don't worry about it." He flashed another sword for her.

"In that case I hesitate anymore. Let's go."

They left the village even though they knew that there was only a couple hours left before the time was up again.

"Remember to come to my house with Jasper tomorrow soon. It's very important. You can order your breakfast to my address already if you want to."

"You never have food at your place right. It's not healthy to eat take out food every time."

"I can't help it. Both me and Tory are lazy to cook."

"Why don't we go to my house and I cook breakfast to everyone."

"Are you sure? Won't be it too much work?"

"Not a problem at all."

"What were your elements once again?"

"Wood and water. Why do you ask?"

"Here refine all of these monsters before we log out." He took out all of his monsters from his spatial bracelet.

"I'll refine the others for now. It'll be important to get the most of it we can before logging out. Trust me."
