"So Allan, what can I do for you?"
"Allan here wants to become a hunter, so I thought that maybe he could sell his game to you." Said Bruno.
"Ah, sure, we are always in the need of meat. It's a dangerous job though, are you sure you can handle it?" Roderick asked Allan.
"To be honest I'm not sure. But in the worst case I can just die and come back here I guess." Said Allan nonchalantly.
"What? Are you not afraid of death?"
Bruno then chimed in. "Well, you would find it out eventually, but there is no point in hiding it. Allan here is an Avatar. According to the Azure god, these avatars here just die and resurrect at the church. There must be some penalty though, but the azure god only told me that it's not good to the avatars if they die."
Allan then said. "According to what I know, I'll lose all my progress in any aspect. But to be honest, if I learn grasp some skill from dying a few time, i don't think there is a loss then."
The game was very realistic and Allan already could notice from the lack of UI that most of the things are going to be just like real life, including combat. He wasn't versed in combat in real life, so he thought about learning it in game, at least about hunting.
"Shit, I can't understand this nonsense. Ah whatever, if you can bring me game, I'll buy it, the fresher the better." Roderick said.
"Thank you." Said Allan.
"Do you need gear?" Asked Bruno.
"I guess I'll need a bow and some arrows. Perhaps some rope to make some traps?"
"Come with me, I'll guide you to the hunter's shop, he might have some hunting gear to sell."
"But I don't have any money on me." Allan shook his head.
"I'll lend you some, since you can't really die and you'll resurrect in my church again, there is no way I'll lose my money." Said Bruno with a smile.
"I guess there is no other way, is there?" Said Allan helpless.
"Don't worry, I won't charge you interest, I have the image of a priest to uphold." Said Bruno proudly.
"Okay, let's gear up then." Said Allan.
Allan then bought some rope to lay down some traps, a bow and some arrows, also a small knife.
"Now you are owing me around 227 copper coins. I'm sure you'll be able to pay it in no time." Said Bruno.
"Now you can hunt in the forest nearby, but don't wander too far or you'll get into the monsters territory."
"Monsters?" Asked Allan.
"Yeah, monsters are lifeforms that have somehow gained the ability to use spiritual energy. Normally the monsters are very strong and only cultivators have the strength to kill a monster."
"Are there monsters nearby?" Asked Allan.
"Not really, we use plenty of monster repellant in this town so we don't attract any monster and animals aren't affected, so we always have a steady supply of meat. But we lack good hunters, so even though there are animals, there aren't enough hunters to feed the whole city. That's where you come in, if you manage to catch plenty of food, you'll definitely make the lives of the residents of this town much better and make some money on top of it."
After chatting for a bit more, Allan then bid farewell and headed towards the forest. He wanted to use the light of the day to prepare some traps and use the waiting time to learn the meditation method.
After an hour of walking Allan arrived at the forest. He entered a bit and tried to find for some trails. Sometimes animals use the same route to find water and then go back to their territory everyday. Allan found a trail and started setting up his traps.
After almost four hours of setting traps and with two hours of sun time remaining, Allan fished a book from his clothes and started reading in. The book was short, there was only an incantation and some breathing patterns. Also it mentioned some uses for the mind power, like the language spell. Another use was to find living lifeforms using the mind energy.
Allan then climbed a tree and found a slightly comfortable spot for sitting, then he started meditating. He meditated for the whole night in a single session. At the beginning it was very difficult to focus, but with the time he managed to grasp it.
When the sun started rising in the horizon and Allan could feel the warmth in his face, he opened his eyes and there was silver glint shining in the depths of his eyes but it quick fade away. He felt his mind was somewhat sharper than normal, and he could also see better than normal. He willed and the status screen appeared in front of him.

Allan then decided to check his traps and, to his surprise, it actually worked, three traps actually caught something, he god two rabbits and a giant rat. He didn't know how to butcher animals, so he just tied the animal feet together and brought it to the city.
